I highly recommend this place over the ever so popular Fénix a block over. It's not as crowded and I feel like the fish and shrimp were fresher. They open at 7am and close at 8pm which is wild to me! They put all the fixings on there for you and the batter they use is crispy and not oily. read more

This was our 2nd stop on our cruise port taco tour. Tacos here were the same price as Fenix, $1.50 a taco. I went with 2 tacos, and here, they actually put the toppings on for you, except for the hot sauce. I got mine with cabbage, pico, and no crema. I added a squirt of lime and some hot sauce. This was the best taco of the day! Perfectly fried fish, and the tortilla here was warmed up and tastier (not sure if homemade or not, but the lady was warming up the tortilla on a little pan/plancha thingy) than other places we went to. This was given to us as a recommendation from a local to try instead of Tacos El Fenix. Loved this restaurant! I'm so glad we made the choice to try this place out as it definitely exceeded our expectations. I tried the shrimp taco, fish taco, and chile relleno. This small fish stand was stop #1 -- and our favorite of the bunch. A lightly breaded fish fillet served in a corn tortilla with cabbage and pico de gallo. $1 per taco, and you can pay with U.S. dollars if you don't want to gather a bunch of pesos. I have been eating at Tacos Floresta since 1981. My wife and I have a small beach cabin not far out of town and no visit is complete without at a lunch of 3 fish tacos. I have eaten fish tacos in other parts of Mexico, as well as those in San Diego and LA - none of which compare. You will see a 20-80 mix of gringos and locals, which speaks well for the menu - simple and consistent. I like mine with a touch of salt, fresh onions and the thin spicy avocado based green hot sauce. As we walk away my wife always asks, "Are your lips burning?....Mine too." I hesitate to give a 5 star review because parking can be tough and sometimes the place is really crowded, especially on Sunday afternoons...Yes, I am just a bit selfish here. But it is a family owned and run business, now handed down to the daughter, and they are good folk. Make sure you put a buck or two in the tip jar and say Gracias. read more
