This is a little hole-in-the-wall taco restaurant over by where the old "Hollywood video" used to be located. I ordered the barbacoa taco which was lamb and the al pastor taco. Both were delicious. I also ordered the El Ray fries with asada. The fries are fresh cut fries which were good. It was covered with cheese sauce, topped with meat, guacamole, pico and sour cream. As it turns out, I was not in love with the asada. I wish I would have ordered the chorizo instead. We sat on the patio even though it was a bit chilly. I am so glad I tried this place! I was craving tacos (when am I not?) and I saw that this place has a salsa bar, which is always something I look for but can't always find. It is a great little place, with excellent food. The decor inside is very pleasant and modern, with a cute little bathroom (worth mentioning, because not all taquerias have them) and several tables. The food is cooked to order, and you can help yourself to the GREAT salsa bar! I mean, their salsas are some of the best I've had in a long time! I will tell you their portion sizes are a little bit smaller than I was expecting. I got a vampiro and a tostada and they were on a smaller sized crispy tortilla. The tacos were also not huge, I could have eaten at least 3-4, where some places I might be full with 2-3. I'm just saying this so you know to order a little more than you would normally. Nice people. Totally agree with other reviews- this place is wayyy too expensive for what you get. The pork and lamb were tough and fatty (lamb was very game-like). The chicken and steak were fine - though average and lacking in toppings. The tacos are SMALL! (As a woman, I could easily eat 5 for dinner). The burritos are not much bigger. Spent $40 for 6 tacos and a burrito... and it barely filled us. I will never stop here again. I wish them well, but this place is not for us. read more

This place loves french fries! I mean, where else can you find burritos stuffed with fries? I love fries too, but theirs seemed to be on the undercooked spectrum for my liking. I like my fries on the crispy side though. The second time, I just requested that the fries be crispy. They also have a few specialty fry options too. Those remind you of loaded nachos, but with french fries instead of chips. It has a fast casual set up. You order in the food line. You can watch them make the food at the grill. There is a salsa bar with a lot spicy options, and there is even a spicy pickled onion concoction at the salsa bar. Everything at the salsa bar is complimentary, but there is a charge for tortilla chips. They have a taco Tuesday special on the mini tacos. Speaking of the tacos, the grilled chicken tacos were my favorite option of the three things that I've ordered so far. There's a lot more to try, but so far what I've had has been good, but a tad overpriced. read more

This is a new place on the north side of town. My son & are in this area once a week. We noticed it going in & decided to try it today. We are glad that we did! It is very clean and has modern urban decor. The staff is very friendly & accommodating. And the food is very authentic. My son got the Pollo Asada Burrito, which he said was fantastic. I wasn't going to get anything because I'm doing a sort of Keto Diet right now. But his looked so good that I decided to ask if they would just put some steak, guacamole & pico de gallo in a bowl for me & they were happy to do it. They charged me for two Asada tacos with a side of guacamole & a side of pico. It was delicious! It's nice to have a good go to restaurant in this area. read more

Probably my go to Latin restaurant in all of Lexington! The flavors are so good! The empanadas are made fresh to order and the dough is pressed out when you order. The fresh tortillas are so good! First time ordering from here. I did the order through a delivery service. I ordered six tacos, beans, a mini guacamole, queso&chips, and jalapeno peppers. The beans were placed in a clamshell to-go container which certainly wasn't the wisest decision. The beans leaked all over the other containers in the bag. To make matters worse, the chips and queso did not come with chips. The rest of the food was okay but the preparation for delivery and omission of the chips left some in my family disappointed. I always love trying new taquerias and this one is excellent. Very clean, lots of great food and friendly staff. If you come, try the tostadas vampiros with shrimp - basically a crunchy tostada with your choice of meat, and then cheese melted on top. What's not to love?! This is truly a taco stand or truck inside a building. It's not a full-blown restaurant. I had a couple of tostadas al pastor. They make kind of a hard fried tortilla sandwich with the ingredients of a street taco inside. It was OK. I tasted the grease more than the taco though -- it was dripping. And it didn't seem like lard, seemed like vegetable oil, no real flavor. I didn't like it enough to want to try the tacos, which looked like your typical soft street taco from a truck. read more

I am only giving a one star because the staff member I encountered was friendly. I placed an order for pick up. 1st order- 2 tacos de pollo 2 tacos se asada. 2nd order- 2 tacos de pollo and 2 de pastor and 1 horchata. First thing noted once I got home with my food; one order was wrong. The 2nd order ended up being 2 tacos de asada and 2 tacos de pastor. That could have been overlooked, but the food left way too much to be desired in the way of flavor and quality. Very bland. The salsa was the de Arbol salsa and it was the worst I have ever encountered. The tortillas were surprisingly precooked...for the price of $27.00 For 8 tacos and a drink I expected at the very least fresh made tortillas...I can get double the tacos at my favorite local taco trunks (Luna Tacos and Taco Geku)to name a couple ..and all the tortillas are fresh made for your tacos. So for 16 tacos I would pay for $32, just a few dollar more for way more food. I am very disappointed because I was hoping to be able to support another Latino owned business but this place will not see me back and I urge all to save your time and money and hit up a local Taco truck instead.
