    Torta el pastor

Delicious! This place is truly a hidden gem! A little corner restaurant next to a a flower shop with some of the best Mexican food you can get in Lexington. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

The best authentic Mexican tacos in town hands down. I have had every taco on the menu and I can't find one I don't like. My favorite for those who like a little spice is the Takos Bravos. Chips and salsa is always good and the chips are always warm. Service is great as well. Love this little hidden gem!

Well after reading the previous reviews I was very excited to try this place. Once we arrived we walked up to see some sort of meat on a rotisserie out front, no cover nothing to keep bugs or wondering hands from touching it.. I thought it odd but we went on in. The hostess was very nice and explained her favorites at that point I ordered three Tacos, 2 steak, one pork. (Found out the "out-front-meat" was pork.. being the brave man I am I proceeded) We waited about 20+ minutes to get our order, which seemed longer because it was approx 119 degrees in the restaurant, got home to find the two steak tacos very very dry. The "out-front-meat" one was actually very good, moist and had pineapple throughout.. Final verdict: one out of three tacos were good, however that will not get me back, after all we r talking about tacos, and taking that long to get a dry taco... yeah I will pass.

Left to right Takos de Pastor (pork), takos bravo (steak with sauteed onions and hot peppers) takos de lomo (ribeye), taco de asada (steak)

I love Mexican food! Tacos are my jam. So of course I had to check out this place to see what they were working with. I enjoyed their taco selection ALOT!!! They have tons of choices for tacos, some that I've never heard of before, but hey as long as its beef I'm down... I like pork tacos too... well I like them All... I just like my carne asada over all... anyway, I've also gotten the fajitas and the flavor of everything always comes out wonderful! I even got a ton of food when I order fajitas!!! Man oh man oh man!!! It's super close to my house so when my husbands not home, I run over here for a quick bite!!! Seating is very limited but hey, it's a mom and pop, you just make due cause the food is definitely the prize in this joint!!!

Nice selection of various tacos from typical to unusual (cow's head). Serving size was generous but the overall flavors and seasoning were lacking. Service was friendly and prompt.

Great authentic Mexican food. Will definitely go back and recommend to friends. Prices are good and portion sizes are good!

The food is warm your heart, flavorful, comfort food. The service was prompt, pleasant and the perfect amount of attention. It's cozy, the chairs and tables could be a little more comfortable. I will definitely be back.

Got these tacos take-out for the first time. The best, authentic carne asada tacos! Full of meat and the sauces were spicy and so good. I walked in and ordered and my food was ready to go in less than 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend their food and will be eating the tacos again!!

Everything tasted so authentic and full of flavor. I also loved the environment and decorations throughout the restaurant- it felt warm, welcoming, and very true to the culture. The only downside is that it is a little pricier than some other Mexican places I've tried. My meal came out to around $47 just for me, but honestly I didn't mind because you can tell the quality is there and I'm always happy to support a local business and the people behind it.

They are bare. I ordered from a very limited menu, jalapeño and bean tamales, refried beans and rice. The flavor of the meal was excellent. The tamales were wrapped in the corn husk and she did a great job heating them up, they were very moist. The beans served on the side were very dark brown. Almost like black beans but not. The rice was not your typical Mexican rice but a much finer and smaller grain, almost like basmati rice. Great flavor in everything. My only complaint and this is just me. I prefer a plate and real utensils for a $20 meal. Not paper plate and plastic ware. The beans and rice were reheated in their plastic container.

The place is beautiful from the outside and the inside. It is a very modern establishment however, they have some unique qualities I hadn't seen in Lexington. For starters, they sat us right away even though it was busy. Next, we ordered a guacamole appetizer and someone came with a cart and made it fresh in front of us! I thought that was super cool since you also get to pick your toppings. The margaritas tasted amazing... it was truly a good ice cream base; I've had nothing like it. Their food is good, they have so many options and the portions are good but it is pricey. The vibe is super fun, it's like a genuine party. Definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't been. 10/10

This is only my second post, and unfortunately this visit was disappointing compared to our usual experiences. Our server was very friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. However, the beer came out warm, which was a rough start. We ordered the lettuce tacos and a cheesesteak quesadilla. It seemed like the food sat in the service window a bit too long -- the lettuce wasn't crispy and we had to ask for new lettuce for the tacos. The quesadilla itself was good, but it could've used some extra flavor. We also ordered hot sauce, but it wasn't spicy at all, which was a letdown. That said, we know what this place is capable of and this visit felt more like an off night than the norm. We'll definitely be back to give it another shot, because El Asadero is usually one of our go-to spots.
