I've always skipped this spot when at the mall and I'm not sure why... I finally got convinced to go out for girls night with the promise of soft served margaritas. The place is beautiful from the outside and the inside. It is a very modern establishment however, they have some unique qualities I hadn't seen in Lexington. For starters, they sat us right away even though it was busy. Next, we ordered a guacamole appetizer and someone came with a cart and made it fresh in front of us! I thought that was super cool since you also get to pick your toppings. The margaritas tasted amazing... it was truly a good ice cream base; I've had nothing like it. Their food is good, they have so many options and the portions are good but it is pricey. The vibe is super fun, it's like a genuine party. This is only my second post, and unfortunately this visit was disappointing compared to our usual experiences. Our server was very friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. However, the beer came out warm, which was a rough start. We ordered the lettuce tacos and a cheesesteak quesadilla. It seemed like the food sat in the service window a bit too long -- the lettuce wasn't crispy and we had to ask for new lettuce for the tacos. The quesadilla itself was good, but it could've used some extra flavor. We also ordered hot sauce, but it wasn't spicy at all, which was a letdown. That said, we know what this place is capable of and this visit felt more like an off night than the norm. Great experience here! Was looking for authentic Mexican food and definitely found it. The ambiance is lively and definitely an experience, there's lots to see, their decor is really great for photos. Their menu is really extensive especially their drink menu. There's something for everyone. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned well, you get big portions with lots of sides and sauces which I always appreciate. The flan we got at the end was delicious, creamy and not overly sweet and perfect to share for two. Service was fast and so kind, the employees were talking and laughing with each other and they all seemed really happy which always adds to a positive experience. This was our second time dining at this place and we went on a Monday when it wasn't busy. We sat at the first table where they had a poster of the daily specials for each day. For Monday it was an OG burrito. The burrito was to consist of ground beef, shredded chicken, beans, rice, cheese and it was supposed to be covered with cheese sauce sour cream and Birria meat. The first burrito that came out had sauteed vegetables and rice no meat no cheese no meat on top of it nothing like we ordered. So being this was the wrong order, which they said it was the right order, she got the manager and the manager took a picture of the poster to make sure they make the correct item. When they brought out the second burrito it was the contents of what was on the poster however they were missing a few of the items like the sour cream and the chicken and the Birria on top. Even with the second burrito trying to fix the order, it was not impressive we ate a bite or two paid for our bill and left. It seems their decor is what you're paying for in the prices. They do have nice decor however the food was low quality and you can't eat the decor. We wouldn't even give that to our dogs. 2 burritos at $17 a piece, $13 for 3 Texas Twinkies (bacon wrapped jalapenos with smoked brisket in the inside) which were overcooked, $12 for tableside guacamole which is the only thing that was good and two drinks. It was a waste of $73. Wish we never went, and we will never go back to. read more

We ordered this place on uber because they had a special offer. We ordered birria tacos and arroz con pollo. The tacos were so good and it came w delicious refried beans and rice. The only complaint is that the consomme was a little bit fatty. Everything else was perfection. First time visiting. Overall the meal was really good. I did dock some stars for a couple of issues. We did wait for food for about 30 minutes which is not bad considering it was a Saturday night. We were seated immediately on arrival. Ordered the birria pizza to share with my husband, which we had leftovers of. Great flavor, only complaint is that it wasn't hot for how long we waited. We didn't bring it to anyone's attention because we were hungry and had already waited a while. It came with a side of "fries" that were cubed. Flavor was good but majority of them were undercooked and hard. My son ordered the enchilada suprema. He loved it all minus the cheese enchilada. Just a taste preference to him. Went in around 9pm on a Friday night and it was PACKED. We were sat within minutes and the server was nice. But overall not impressed. The sound levels are insane for a restaurant but other people seemed to be having a great time--even with the dancing robot that required all the lights be turned out for everyone to see. Felt unnecessary and unsafe given the many children and servers running around. Probably a great space for large groups since tables say 10-12 people, but the food was unremarkable. I've enjoyed the many visits my wife and I have made here, however the last time we were there I ordered the chimichangas. Menu state 2 fried chimichangas and I received 1 that was cut in half, cutting something in half doesn't make it 2, brought it up to someone and they did bring another, but this is yet just another way businesses are trying to get over on us. read more

How was I unaware of this gem of a restaurant?! Apparently, I am just finding out what Lexingtonians have known for some time. This place from the aesthetic to the service to the food was a 5 star experience we will not soon forget. My wife and I started with the fried shrimp and calamari app that came with 3 dipping sauces that all complimented the seafood well. The taste was amazing, the temperature of the food might have been the hottest I've ever received... literally from the fryer to the table. I cannot recommend this app enough. Their salsa was also fantastic, but a bit spicer than most other Mexican restaurants in town. We both ordered fajitas and that was a chore to decide because they have so many options! I should have my prefaced my review with the fact their menu is extensive. Lots of options, but thankfully El Asadero also includes lots of pictures and vivid descriptions. My Hawaiian fajitas were amazing... a mix of steak, shrimp, chicken, ham, peppers and pineapple covered in gooey melty cheese. The leftovers were just as tasty if not better. The drink menu is extensive, so many colorful creations to try of all varieties. They remind me of the Sugar Factory in their creativity. If after all this you have room for dessert, the flan was some of the best my wife and I have ever had. The service was phenomenal, the speed of the operation was unbelievable without feeling rushed, and the decor was fun and tasteful inside and out. Read about this restaurant a few months ago in Lexington and said the next time I was there, I need to stop by. And I'm glad I did. The food was wonderful. The drinks were amazing and it had a really cool Mexican vibe all the way around. Lotta folks were there celebrating birthdays or other events and staff really added to the experience. around 6 and 8 every day they had a cool show with costume performers and great music. Everybody seemed to enjoy it. Lotta folks were there for birthdays, which was amazing by itself. Gotta see it. The drink specials were good. Everything that we got there was not that good just mediocre food and I think it is super expensive for what it is. I visited El Asedero for the first time tonight with a large group of friends. The first thing you notice when you walk in is their beautiful murals and general vibe. I loved the decor and set the tone for the overall fun atmosphere this place has. We started off our meal during the daylight and overall the atmosphere was very pleasant. There was some lower volume music in the background and a few groups were celebrating birthdays. They bring out a really fun airplane that has sparklers on the back when the bring out the birthday shot. This place really knows how to celebrate. As the sun was setting outside the party really got started. The lights dimmed and all of a sudden we were part of an epic dance party complete with a robot covered in changing lights and a dancing Mickey. It's truly something to witness. It almost feels like you are on vacation at some resort with a planned event! I give this place a 10/10 for the fun party vibe! Now let's get to the food. I ordered the Hawaiian fajitas which come with chicken, shrimp, steak, ham and pineapple on a bed of grilled peppers and onions. On the side they offer standard refried beans, rice, pico, sour cream and guacamole. We also ordered a small side of queso to pour on our fajitas. The fajitas were overall good. I wouldn't say the best I've had of anywhere. The chicken could have used a little more spice. The shrimp need seasoning but the steak was great and so was the grilled pineapple. So overall I'd give the fajita's a 3/5. The queso was decent but not great. It could have used more spice and seasoning as it tasted pretty plain. A few jalapeños in the queso would have helped. The price is pretty high for queso. The small cup was over $5. The fajitas were $19. I'd recommend getting the steak fajitas only if I were to go back. It's definitely a fun vibe and it would be a great place to grab a drink and enjoy a party. As far as food, it was decent but not the best in town. I think with a few tweaks it could get there. I've heard a lot of things about El Asadero and wasn't sure what to expect, but tried it out - I will be back! I've heard in the evenings, it's more like a club than a restaurant, with loud music, dancers, and flashing lights. However, during the day, my experience was that of a pretty typical restaurant. They did bring our drinks out with a lit.sparkler and the margaritas were absolutely loaded (think those crazy milkshakes you see on Instagram with whole cupcakes). The food was delicious and visually very appealing. I could have eaten the chorizo dip with a spoon and just might consider it on my next trip. One really nice touch was when I asked for a box for my leftovers, my waiter also brought out fresh chips and salsa already packaged to take home. read more

Ok Lexingtonians, if you haven't tried this place you should! We have tried to get in at prime time on the weekends without success so we tried a Tuesday night and were able to sit at the bar! The drinks are amazing, so fun with tons of fruit, flowers and candy. Happy hour prices are good. The menu is HUGE and that's not just what she said. You name it, they make it! We had the birro tacos and chimichanga. We also had the chori queso. Sooo stuffed!! Total bill was $74 and totally worth it. Go and experience the fun atmosphere. After a night of dancing, my childhood best friend and her husband took my wife and I to this restaurant. Supposedly the place is usually packed but we went closer to closing time. I ordered a chalupa and my wife had impossible nachos. We loved our food. I envied my best friends plate because she ordered birra quesadillas and it looked FIRE. Fantastic food and service. I've been twice now. If you don't like loud places then don't go on Friday or Saturday nights. It's a party. During the week it's much quieter but good and service are exceptional and table side guacamole can be made to order and is delicious. They don't take reservations so plan accordingly. We didn't have any wait on a week night but Saturday had about an hour and a half wait because we had a group of seven. But food was well worth the wait. read more
