Carne asada tacos and a sope
    Meralina M.

My coworkers and I frequent this place! Love that they make real enchiladas they're quite good here. The Ravi's are great and I loved the sope. The service is quick, and there is both covered and uncovered seating to enjoy your meal.

Checked out Tacos El Rey for a late lunch. They're a food truck but have a warm, covered sitting area. Second location is out in Arlington. We dropped in on a late Friday afternoon (2:45pm). Food came out within five minutes. Two sauce bottles; salsa verde (nice unexpected kick) and salsa roja. - 4x Tacos - lengua ($3.25 USD), asada ($3.00 USD), birria ($3.25 USD) and chorizo ($3.00 USD). Favourite was the lengua. Chorizo was packed. Asada and birria were a touch dry. Grilled onions were nicely done - Enchiladas ($14.00 USD) - opted for adobada. Best of the meats we tried. No sauce but still flavourful. Rice was solid, beans unmemorable

I love birria tacos, so I was sold when this place came up in my results! The quesabirria tacos themselves were delish and the consume was as expected. The beans and rice were disappointing, but that wasn't my main objective anyways. The HORCHATA though. DELISH. Probably the best horchata I've had. Enjoyed so much that I forced myself to same some for the next day's latte (which, I highly recommend!). Salsas were really good too. Nice workers, and they have a covered waiting area. They also had some seating if you wanted to eat on site.

Absolutely delicious, flavorful, perfectly portioned food. Doesn't matter what you choose off the menu, it's all good. The service is super fast, we sat down and got up ~30 seconds later to get our order. This is a food truck but there is a covered, porched-in sitting area on site that is super insulated, so even if it's cold and rainy you'll have somewhere to sit. My only complaint is that it's 40+ minutes from where I live! So whenever I travel north, I always try to incorporate this truck for a meal on the way home--it's that good.

    Soooo good!! Authentic Mexican food!

Authentic delicious Mexican food! Worth the drive from anywhere in western Washington. The torta was so delicious the carnitas were perfect. The burritos are on point. Being from Southern California, this is the closest I've gotten to a real authentic Mexican taco truck since being in Washington. The red and green salsa are also amazing! I would buy it if it was jarred. So worth it! Only 5 minutes from the freeway exit.

This review is for the truck located on 172nd in Arlington. I've tried the tacos, burritos, and tortas over the last few months. The food is really authentic and I highly recommend the asada, lengua, and tripa meat options. The burritos have beans, rice, avocado, pickled jalapeño and lettuce . I order without lettuce...warm lettuce is no bueno. Tacos come with grilled onions, raw chopped onions and cilantro. Their green salsa is bomb! 4 star because it's hit and miss when the truck will be there and consistency is presentation is lacking at times. But otherwise, probably the best truck in Arlington/Marysville.

Two asada tacos on the left, two lengua tacos on the right.

It has been years since I've had this truck but it's still sooo good. My husband was coming back from golf and asked if I wanted something. Couldn't decide between tacos or a burrito and ended up with 2 asada and 2 lengua tacos. The asada was a bit dry but good flavor, the lengua was spot on and very tender. He got the pork wet burrito which I had a bite of and definitely getting that next time. What a delight - don't walk, run for your next great meal.

I eat here way too often. Really good, sometimes a little greasy. Usually made fast, there are busy times when the line gets long.

Menu…read morewise, Playa Bonita is a fairly standard Mexican restaurant with all the American favorites. The inside is colorfully decorated with music blaring, also typical. Service was fine; we didn't need much. It was late, and we didn't want to overstay their open hours thus ordering our usual dishes. Their tortilla chips come with both salsa and bean dip. That was different. The menu specified that "additional" costs more. I did request extra salsa to eat with the meal; I don't remember if I was charged. The Food: Carne Asada, $24.99 - 3.5 Stars Grilled skirt steak slices were well marinated and tender. The portion is smaller than hubby wanted. Cost is going up, and portions have been shrinking everywhere, so I can't really fault them. The grilled veggies with melted cheese were a nice touch. Camarones a la Diabla, $22.99 - 3.5 Stars The menu says HOT! This spicy dish is commonly a '3 stars' spicy for me, meaning not that hot. Their version is cooked with mushrooms and shreds of onions, the latter being a filler. This dish is normally shrimps and mushrooms only. For the cost, theirs is ok. I usually see larger shrimps and pay a higher cost. I always ask for no beans and eat the rice with salsa. We are unlikely to return unless our choices are once again limited by time of day. I decided to round down my overall rating accordingly.

The place was packed (understandably so!), and while there are three floors, it seemed like only the lower two were in use. Still, there was plenty of seating and room to roam. The bar has a definite dive bar charm, with a lively, local vibe. There were games like pool, skee-ball, and others that added to the laid-back, casual energy. The staff was fantastic--super friendly and upbeat, even with the festival rush. They went all in on the strawberry theme with cute decorations hanging from the ceiling and drinks served in plastic strawberry-shaped cups. A really fun touch! As for food, I took a chance on the "calamari"--which turned out to be a cleverly disguised sliced hot dog shaped like an octopus. Unexpected? Yes. Oddly delicious? Also yes. Definitely not your standard bar food, but it totally worked in a novelty kind of way.
