They have a little salsa bar at the register to complement. The quesadilla was fantastic. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Exactly what I was craving. The monster burrito had great flavor and the carne asada in the burrito was spot on. The five mini tacos with carne were incredibly dry. Very disappointing. If you dipped them in one of the sauces it was tolerable. We went back and ordered the churros. They were recommended on another yelp review. We were passing through and found Burritos CA. Not bad! Had the beef burrito and enchilada with rice and beans and Shrimp plate. The beef is slices of beef. It reminded me of a beef stew in burrito form. The flavors were on point. Wished the shrimp was a little more spicy. Good selection of free salsas at their salsa bar. Churro was freshly fried. We liked the horchata. I've had better rice and beans elsewhere. The beans were a bit more pasty consistency and dry for my taste, but not inedible. I had a hankerin' for some Carne Asada Fries, and not many places do this. So, I looked around, and this place -- literally named "Burritos California" piqued my interest. Decent reviews, not too far away... You've got me! Now, being from Calfornia and having lived in the heart of the absolute best taqueria culture in the world (plus the nostalgia and memories tied to all of that)... it's really hard to beat those memories, but you've gotta try, right?! I rolled up late on a Saturday night, and the drive-thru wasn't busy - just one other person ahead of me. The menu is pretty vast -- they have all your taqueria standards -- tacos, burritos, tortas, breakfast stuff, and plates (like enchiladas with rice and beans). Solid! Their meat options seem to be chicken, carne asada, carnitas, shrimp, fish... Seems reasonable for this kind of place. They promptly took my order, gave me the total, etc... pretty straightforward, and I drove up to the next window. They produced my order pretty quickly, and I was off. I got two things - Carne Asada Fries, and a Carne Asada Fries Burrito. I dont know why I got two things, but I was just curious and couldn't help myself. Under no scenario in this world would this be a reasonable amount of food for one person. The fries are gigantic -- entirely filling a standard, square styrofoam container (nailed the vibes, here). The burrito was unexpectedly also gigantic - must have been two tortillas-sized (don't remember, though). But anyway, thats to say... I had leftovers, so got to enjoy this two days in a row. Overall, the food was pretty solid! Not bad, but not amazing. It could have been the travel time and things getting a little cold... but when I got it home, it was just slightly below the temp I'd hope, so I nuked it in the microwave for like 10 seconds to wake it up. I ate the fries first -- it had a huge bed of limp fries under a mount of carne asada, guac, sour cream, and cheese. The carne asada (which is supposed to be the star) was decently seasoned, but a bit dry and not crisp'ed on the plancha, so it seemed more "steamed" to be warmed up. Not the end of the world, but missed the mark there. The guac was really good, though. However, the fries didn't eat as greasy as I would have liked... which is a weird thing to say, lol -- but that's what I'm here for! I "tested" the burrito... for science... and I'd say it was actually the superior method for ingesting this meal. Same carne asada, but being wrapped up made it easier to eat and tastier in some way (the tortilla was really good, too). It was nice that they didn't fluff it with other ingredients -- sometimes when you get a california burrito/super burrito, it has beans and rice... that can be okay, but the combo of meat+fries+cheese+guac+sour cream alone is unbeatable. Their salsas were also pretty good! They provided two in my bag without me having to ask... two hot red and two mild green. Both good. The hot one was my fav. All that said, I'll probably be back. My biggest complaint is how inconsistent this restaurant is. You can order the same item three days in a row and it will be different every time. I always find great places by accidents. This is nothing different. Looking for a quick grab and go place near Tulalip. We were fixated on one place near by and it was closed when I pulled up. Then Burritos California was other nearest option - thought why not try this place. Well Light up, easy to spot as soon as you get close by. Does have private parking lot and drive thru. We decided to walk in. Plenty of options on their menu. We picked up a Wet burrito (chicken) and a veggie burrito. Not many customer were dining in late that day. Food was ready in about 5-10 minutes max! The salsas and picked veggies are available near the counter for anyone dining in. Salsas are hot - the red one was real hot! The Veggie burrito was really good. Didn't have too much rice and beans - but added good amount of veggies in it which is a plus! The sauce for the wet burrito was really delicious - but they served the rice and beans on the side with a burrito full of chicken. It's not so easy to have the food that way! I've been here three times since they've opened. I always order the California burrito. The first time was really good. The second time it was so salty that I couldn't finish the burrito. This third time, I take a bite halfway through the burrito and feel something sharp hit my gums. Turns out it was a small, thin piece of metal. We threw away all the food we ordered.
