Saw this place on Social Media and wanted to check it out for myself. They go all out with their Halloween decor so I'm excited to see how they decorate for other holidays. The bar is located in the front of the restaurant so you can either enjoy it there or grab a seat afterwards. Similar to the bar, you place your food order up front and they will bring it to your table. There is a large seating area with a stage for live music and salsa bar. First time coming here, saw their page through Tik Tok and after being at the haunted house I decided to stop by and give this place a try. I am pleasantly surprised at how good the tacos de suadero are, if you tried the ones in CDMX, you know it's hard to find a legit place that serves tasty suadero. Second time I came for Banda brunch, my first experience was horrible because it took me twenty minutes to even get noticed by the female bartenders ( 2 of them) while waiting I decided to get a shot instead of a drink so it wouldn't take another twenty minutes. Was hoping the second time would be better, it wasn't. The male friends I was with got immediately served, and my friend and I waited a solid 30 minutes for a drink and when it did come (a classic margarita) it was so sweet, and they didn't make a classic one because it barely had lime and it had gran malo no triple sec. As someone who grew up in this area, it's nice to see how far this area has come about. This was my first time here and the location is super big. The artwork from the moment you enter the parking and then when walking throughout the restaurant is filled with artists that one grew up seeing or listening too and the colors are super vibrant. As for the food, the wait to order the food was a bit long but having live mariachi made it worth the wait. Candidly a little too loud!!!! The music was at a volume level for a large party of 200+ people yet there was no more than 15 people dining. Friendly customer service at both the food counter and the bar. My Spanish is mas o menos so I really appreciate the attendant patiently answering my questions around the menu that is 100% in Spanish. The loaded baked potato was certainly a full meal and filled w/ delicious flavor. Loved the option of different meat, I went w/ the Al pastor and it didn't disappoint. The tacos were okaaaay. The carnitas was my favorite out of also Al pastor and carne asada. However I do feel like the meet lacked flavor and seasoning. Also I didn't think the tacos were worth the $$. The highlight for me was certainly the margarita flight. Loved how there was a sample of watermelon, lime, guava and mango. The parking lot is a little small and crowded w/ taco trucks, vintage cars and honestly what looks like junk. There is a small parking lot and at first, I was doubtful about this restaurant because of the limited parking I thought it would be a small restaurant inside. Surprisingly it has a big interior with a stage and a bar. Beautiful wall art encompasses the culture and sets the vibes. Music is set to fit the tone and I can assume the restaurant hosts live shows on the stage. The service I have no complaints about because when my group arrived there was not a big line. I feel the setup of ordering first and paying, seating yourself, and then bringing your order to you, works perfectly. I saw many reviews complaining about this setup, but I had no issue. The wait time was fairly quick and the staff were friendly and kind. The food was flavorful and I would return to try more menu items. The Papa Loca was my favorite and the burrito was my least favorite. I also love that they offer a toppings/salsa bar that is self-serve. They have a variety of toppings including cucumbers, habanero onions, and multiple salsas. 4 stars due to lack of consistency in the temperature of the fresh Aguas frescas, as some had ice and some were room temperature. I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time, and I've finally got the chance to do so. As soon as you walk into this place you order first and they give you some chicharrones on the house and a number so they can bring your food. Micheladas had good flavor that licuachelada was so big I didn't think I was gonna be able to finish it. Molcajete was packed and oh so flavorful, the hot Cheeto tacos were really good, they sure don't skimp on the meat, I like the added fries they give you. The only thing I didn't like were the papas de camaron, it was pretty much dry and the shrimp were overcooked, it lacked flavored I would honestly skip on this one. Also do skip on the Michelada de camaron just get a regular michelada, again shrimp were overcooked, hence the minus star I'm giving. It could be just my luck, or that's the way they cook them. Other than that everything else was delicious, drinks are good and this place is such a vibe to come hang with friends and listen to some good music or admire the beautiful murals while eating some good food. If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Food was disgusting for the price! We ordered a torta and a shrimp plate and a drink total came out to $60. Shrimp plate only came with 6 shrimps, for it being $22 I expected more. The torta was hella dry and had no flavor, the bread was so thick and the torta barely had any meat! Don't know if their recent rise on social media is intentional or not but either way, good for them. I've driven past this place a thousand times and only decided to check it out after seen on an instagram reel. I was super excited and that excitement was immediately contained as soon as I arrived. They have a parking lot but it's small considering how fast they're blowing up on line; street parking is easy with a walk. Upon entering, depending on the time, you may find yourself stuck in a line out the door and that's because you order your food before sitting down. There's an entirely separate line for drinks. I absolutely hate establishments with this kind of operational setup. If your party is big enough I highly recommend you divide and conquer and one of you snatch a table towards the entrance if you came to talk because otherwise tables closer to the stage are hella loud. The line for drinks moved quickly when birthday parties weren't taking up too much space and time. Don't mean to hate, I get it. The lighting, the music, the drinks I found myself wanting to dance but like I came for dinner and didn't know that I was basically entering a warehouse turned eatery that could easily be a club. The food and drinks were fine. I appreciate the chunks of pineapple that came with the pastor tacos. The carnitas quesatacos had plenty of meat. Tasted some papa locas that were yummy but wish they had crema. The drinks were underwhelming and expensive. FYI you have to pay a deposit to have your drink in a special cup. My friend ordered the margarita flight and we assumed it would come in an airplane as seen on social media but that didn't happen, so maybe there's a deposit there too, I don't know. Customer Service matters!!! These trucks are parked at a new location off 23rd St. I stopped by on my way home, the gentlemen taking the orders wasn't friendly at all. I placed my order and then when they were prepping my order they called out the wrong number of tacos. I then said, "oh, I order 3 & 3," the same guy that took the order and who was in the middle of helping another customer said, "no you didn't! You order 2 & 3." It wasn't what he said but the way he said it and how intentional he was to make sure everyone heard. He could have said it differently. the rest of the employees looked at me a little embarrassed. The food had no flavor, nothing. They are big tacos with a lot of meat but not good at all. The tortillas felt dry and stale. Another Instagram restaurant found!!!!! The outside is super nice. All the decor was nice! It just draws your attention! Great job on that! THE FOOD HERE IS IMMACULATE!!!!!! Everything was perfect! I have no complaints about the food at all. The portions were huge. My family and I got two things off the menu each and we didn't eat everything there. We had food for the next day, literally lol The guys taking our order was very sweet and helpful! Appreciate them especially because most things on the menu were in Spanish but we had no problem ordering at all. They also have a truck that you can order from outside but we definitely got the full experience with eating inside Horchata 10/10!! Now the alcohol drinks ... for a $30 flight ..
