They're not very efficient here, it literally took over 30 minutes wait for me to get my food after I placed my order. And although the food is pretty decent, the main thing is for what you get for the prices being charged.it's nothing to write home about. The keto tacos were Fire! I liked the pollo and adobado which have become my favorites! The Serrano pepper that came with it was very flavorful! This time we got the loaded carne asada fries and a shrimp taco, and both were super satisfying. The fries were definitely loaded up with toppings and the carne asada had great flavor. The shrimp taco was also a win, fresh, well-seasoned, and not skimpy on the shrimp! Overall, the quality feels noticeably improved, and the food really hit the spot. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is the logistics. Parking is tight with a tiny lot that's maybe 8 spaces, and there's no indoor seating, just an outdoor patio. It also seems like there's almost always a line, and you should expect a bit of a wait for your food. Still, if you're okay with a little patience (and maybe parking on the street), it's worth it. 4 stars for delicious food and a clear step up from their early days, just come prepared for the crowd. read more

My wife was craving a burrito for dinner and I have had this spot bookmarked for awhile. It did not disappoint. The burritos were big and flavorful. We both got adobada (al pastor) with pineapple and crispy cheese. Mine was a super burrito and my wife got the San Diego style. They were both delicious. Their salsas were tasty and their curtido was extremely fresh. We are fat kids at heart and also tried carne asada and grilled chicken tacos which I liked, but my wife found a bit dry. The restaurant has no indoor seating, but the patio has heat lamps which made it slightly more inviting even though it was fairly dark. The service was extremely friendly and fast. The location's not the best, but the restaurant itself is inviting. There's limited parking in their teeny lot (I had to park on the street this past Sunday) and minimal seating for dining in. Only outdoor tables and counter seats are available, but the patio is covered. Service was fast, friendly, and professional, and my order was ready in no more than 10 minutes. Got the super burrito with shrimp and refried beans minus the guac, grilled in butter (no extra cost). It was so yummy, large in size and generously filled with tasty ingredients. The shrimp juicy and flavorful, the veggies fresh, even the superior quality of the beans noticeable, not to mention the sauce which goes so well with the shrimp, delish! This establishment delivers on a great product and service, and puts effort into providing a positive experience for guests. Like some of the rice was hard and there was a peculiar flavor to the beans and rice. They have counter service and they call numbers to pick up the orders, which seemed to work fine. The cashier and person handing out food seemed kind of disengaged and they forgot some stuff like the lime and lid for the rice and beans. But they also weren't rude or anything - they just didn't seem enthusiastic about working there. There's outdoor seating, no restrooms but they do have a porta-potty style outdoor sink for people to wash their hands. I would recommend bringing your own hand sanitizer or hand wipes. The restaurant itself is clean, organized and well set up, with outdoor seating available which is nice on a sunny day. It has a relaxed vibe where you can sit down with friends and enjoy your food without feeling rushed. The only thing I noticed across several of the dishes was that the portions of meat felt a little light compared to the tortilla or toppings. The flavor is absolutely there, but a slightly more generous portion of meat would make these dishes even better. Overall, solid spot with great flavor and a fun menu. I also asked for the spiciest salsa they had, and it wasn't spicy at all, which was disappointing. The best tacos I've had in the east bay! I ordered a carne asada red taco, and an adobada (al pastor) regular taco. Both had great flavor. I preferred the adobada meat due to it's crispy texture, but enjoyed the red taco flavor and fillings! Next time I would order another 1 red taco or 2 regular tacos because I was still hungry afterwards. Note - We went in the afternoon at off hours and it was not as busy. I've been going to this place for a while. I always got their adobada tacos (con piña!!) which hit the spot. This time, I was really craving a burrito so I decided to try their super burrito with adobada con piña. The burrito was SO good. The meat was crispy and juicy, the beans were flavorful and fluffy, and all of their heartiness was broken up so well by the pineapple, guac, and pico. The thing that really took the burrito over the top for me was the crispy cheese. The cheese is cooked on the tortilla as a toasty crispy layer encompassing all of the ingredients. Also, it was massive! There was enough burrito for two meals. I did try my friend's shrimp tacos, which were a bit too fishy for my taste, but this place has so many other amazing options. The service is quick and simple: you order at a window and wait for you food to come out of another window. There is lots of seating all outdoor, but I usually just take it home to indulge. We've been going to other taco places around the area, and we thought the quality of those were starting to going down, so we decided to come try the tacos here and SO glad we did. Got the simple carne asada and adobada tacos. Meat and tortillas were fresh. Sauce was perfect. Down to the salt on the Serrano peppers...all the flavor profiles were just amazing. (Might be top 5) could have gone without the side salsas. The salsa/guacamole that comes on the tacos already is good enough. Service was quick - despite how busy it started getting. Stopped here on the way back from kids' sporting event. Found it via the reviews and oh my, it didn't disappoint. The tortillas were fresh. We had carnitas, carne asada, pollo Adobe and camarones and all were well seasoned and tender. The salsa was the perfect touch tangy topping. I appreciated that they had agua fresca flavors we don't often see. We ended up getting melon. The cashier is inside a little window. We've heard from multiple people that El Tucan serves some of the best Mexican food in the area. After my boyfriend tried their tacos last week and raved about them, I decided to join him this time to see for myself. I ordered the shrimp taco, which was great. The homemade tortillas were fresh, and the chipotle sauce was creamy, spicy, and delicious. I did find it interesting that the shrimp wasn't battered or fried, but it still worked well. I also tried the Cali burrito, which was tasty, though I would have preferred more pico de gallo and guacamole. My boyfriend insists their tacos are the standout item, so I'll be back soon to try those and update my review. As for the setup, seating is only available outdoors. You order through a window, wait for your number to be called, and then pick up your food.
