I just found another of my favorite mexican restaurant in San Gabriel. The place is small but cozy, the service is ok since only one person is serving but she is nice and respectful but the food, OMG it is soo good . I usually dont eat the chips before the food but this ones are soo good that we finished soon, they made it right there so they are hot and a little spicy but not much. The plates are big, you can even share or take home if you dont finish but the taste is good, we love it. I have tried garlic shrimps, enchiladas suizas, torta de pastor y sopes and really like everything. The inside of the restaurant is a very cozy and refreshing place when we went in Early May. I could see how it could get hot in the summer. Service was fast for our togo order, food did take on the longer side but for the quality, it's worth it. I've only ordered take out once here and plan to return. I ordered the chicken mole and a taco durados plate. The chicken was fall off the bone juicy and so delicious. Cooked to perfection in my opinion. The taco place wasn't for me but my husband said it was real good. Service is a bit slow but they do claim that food is made fresh and it was worth the wait. We didn't take a picture of the freah guacamole before we devoured it, but it was perfect, fresh made with real, perfectly ripe avocados, onions and tomatoes. The chips were super fresh and seasoned. The flautas were crispy, filled with just the right amount of shredded beef and clearly made to order, topped with Lettuce Tomatoes and cotija cheese. Rice and beans were also delicious. 5 of us went there to have lunch, first time. First off, their parking is inadequate. Only 5 spaces. The handicap space was blocked with a silver truck, which belong to the cook or owner. My friend who is handicapped had to find other parking. The place has no air conditioning, it was very uncomfortable. The bathroom is outside and they did not provide paper towels to dry your hands. Also, it was hard to lock the door for privacy. The food took 20-30 minutes to come out, except for one person one person in our group, 40 minutes. They forgot his order. The food was good and tasty. Yum yum yum! My friends and I have been looking for a place to replace our old Latin food haunt. This place is perfect. It replaced the old Casa de Abuelita that we all loved and we all loved the lady who owned it. In any case, my partner said that the Camaron Diablo was on point. She said it was the best one she has ever had, which says a lot because she's had it at probably over 50+ places in the Los Angeles County area. My friend and I both had Enchiladas Suisas de Asada. They forgot the bean and cheese burrito and I ordered 5 pupusas because of their special . And they forgot the most important part , the "Curtido". Wow.
