I have never gone inside to eat or order, so I can't speak to their atmosphere or cleanliness. The drive thru always seems to take a little bit longer than you'd hope, regardless if anyone is in line ahead of you. But everything is made fresh, and you can tell, which totally makes it worth it. The ladies I've met at the window are always very friendly and helpful. Their verde salsa is incredible, the rojo is good with a little kick if you prefer some spice. I recommend asking for some regardless of what you're ordering!

Best breakfast burritos, DONT SLEEP ON THESE. I typically get the sausage breakfast burrito, but the bacon one is just as tasty. They even cut it in half for you which is convenient for saving half for later if you're not that hungry. They get busy so I'd call ahead of time if you have time.

I've been coming here for years. Always great but drive through service was horrible she was very rude. They got our order wrong and when we asked for our drink she pretty much gave us a cup full of ice and hardly any drink.

Drive thru order @ 7am on a Sunday & this place was already busy! You know that's gotta be a good sign! Breakfast burritos (sausage, chorizo & bacon), a wet burrito with bacon & a French toast plate. Huge portions! One burrito is enough for 2 people! They cut 'em in half before wrapping em so easy to share! Excellent prices, speedy service.

Breakfast burritos are a staple. This one was pretty standard - sausage, potato, cheese. Combine that with their green salsa, and you've got a solid breakfast. Nothing particularly innovative or outstanding, but it was tasty, so that's a win. I'd go back! Plus, they were able to accommodate a large to go order last minute, so extra points for flexibility on that.

How I heard of this place: We were visiting our friends in Beaverton, back on 15 September 2018, and we invited them to choose a place for us to take them out to dinner. Don Chilitos was the immediate response. Type of cuisine: "Counter-serve setup for dine-in plus a drive-thru dishing out unpretentious Mexican cooking." Simple, delicious Mexican food, served with a smile, Ambiance: The seemingly small house surrounded by parking lot, is home to Don Chilitos. We ran up to place our orders at the counter, paid, then awaited our turn to pick up our food at the opposite end of the counter. The restaurant is cozy and dark, windows along the walls give space for natural lighting to accompany the fluorescent lighting overhead. Tables and chairs for parties up to four are available interspersed throughout the establishment. An array of salsas, pickled vegetables and spicy sauces are available to patrons to help themselves. The kitchen is clean and the staff friendly in the bustling, loud space, wonderfully child-friendly. What I ordered: For the youngest in our group, a Grilled Cheese Sandwich and fries, but for the rest of us, large plates filled with grilled meats, rice, refried beans, vegetables, chips and salad. What I loved: The grilled meats were fabulously flavorful, perfectly grilled, with a slight crisp burn on the outside and moist interior. Why I loved it: A simple space, simple food, done well. Do not recommend. We just ordered take out and it is terrible. Ordered a steak burrito and the meat is really bad, full of fat and gristle, even connective tissue. I'd give zero stars if I could. Do better, ppl are paying for this food

I've never had to download a review app to diss on Mexican restaurant in my life. I love Mexican food but this was disgusting. Meat was nasty, had to spit it out. Any other Mexican restaurant is better than this spot.

Food is just ok. It's what I expect from a fast food style Mexican American restaurant. You get full. The reason for my 1 star rating is for the customer service or lack of. We go here a lot because it's close to our home and my kids love their French fries. But with the love of the French fries is also a love for ranch dressing for dipping. They're kids they like it...a lot! Anyways we asked for some ranch as we always do and were given attitude about it. The girls were scoffing and being very rude because we asked for it and then they said it would cost 3 dollars which is twice as much as last time. Ok that's fine I guess ranch is inflating along with everything else. Bottom line we don't care if we have to pay for sauce for the kids fries but it was just the rudeness we got from it. Not like they had to make a batch special for us so maybe work on your customer service skills and stop being rude about something so petty. Lots more things in the world to worry about than overpriced ranch at your jobby job! We won't be back! El gordo is better. read more

Go to spot for a great breakfast burrito! Got it with sausage and I appreciate there's a drive thru. Food and service is quick and you get your money's worth with the food. My wet breakfast burrito (sausage and bacon) $2.99 extra for 2 meat was the worst burrito I've ever had. 80% potato, 15% egg and cheese and a tiny bit of sausage and bacon. I couldn't find the meat so I deconstructed it. For $16 I had much better expectations. Skip this place for sure if you have any concept of good food. read more

I lived in Southern California for 40 years, and down there you can barely throw a rock without hitting a hole-in-the-wall casual Mexican restaurant. But almost all of them down there were really really good. Don Chilito's is honestly one of the few of those casual type places I've tried in the Beaverton / Aloha area that would fit right in in Southern California. Every time I try something new at Don Chilito's, I'm pleasantly surprised. And I've tried a lot - the nachos, the tacos (with carnitas, al pastor, chicken, and asada), their breakfast burritos, their regular burritos, their pollo asada, burrito bowl, and so on and so on. Hell, this place even sells a club sandwich with fries. And everything I've had has been a pleasant surprise. Even the asada, which places like this usually serve with tons of gristle and chewy parts, was fantastic here. I honestly can't think of a single dish I've eaten here that I would even categorize as average or below. Everything is basically a solid A- tier, which for a place like this is really saying something. This place doesn't look like much from the outside - it was clearly a taco bell or some sort of fast food restaurant many years ago before it turned into Don Chilito's, and it still kind of has that run-down closed-down restaurant look. But don't sleep on the food - everything I've tried has been great. It has that homey sort of feel-good food taste that Mexican places down in Southern California have. I can't describe it, but this place has it. Now I can't speak to the service though, because I always order here through delivery. I did come in here to take out exactly 1 time, and that was just a typical takeout experience. read more

Wow.... So I decided to try their Breakfast the other day and ended up getting a Sausage Burrito. Second WOW! It was big, stuffed with fresh eggs sausage and potatoes. I ordered chicken tacos with no onion. They served loads of onions. I ordered a steak chimichanga with no cilantro. What I got was NO chimichanga. I rate the person taking orders as a zero. I recommend do not go through the drive through. read more

Prices have nearly doubled in the past two years and I'm not exaggerating. Breakfast burritos were $5.50 and now they're $9. Their portions have roughly stayed the same but consistency has entirely dropped off. Such a shame bc many coworkers at Nike grew up loving to eat here, but now we no longer want to go since the prices are higher and service is inconsistent. Owners really need to listen to the feedback and take some steps to address customers concerns. Seriously ... a chorizo breakfast burrito doesn't even cost $9 in LA or NY. Insane!!! read more

Ok, this has been our "hidden gem" for years. when we first tried Don chillitos we knew it was the real deal. its a hole in the wall, every time we go its packed and i think its family owned? man, their tacos are always on point packed with flavors! when we first tried their rice and beans we were blown away. did they cook these beans in bacon fat? how can beans taste this good? also you must get a side of their pickled jalapeño, carrots and onions!!! even though they get busy, theyre usually pretty fast. with this pandemic we've been ordering through their delivery services and they havent once messed up on our order! (i wish they stopped using styrofoam tho) if you're craving some legit mexican food, please try them out!! read more

I love this place and have been a customer for years. Breakfast burrito's is where it's at. However.. in the last month, I've ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and the bacon has been almost non-existent. I'm unsure why.. as I've always a great portion of bacon before. Literally just a couple pieces of bacon. Maybe a new cook. I hope the owners see this post.. and make some changes.. I miss my bacon burrito's. Like I said.. I've been ordering the breakfast burrito's for prob 7 years.. and my last two orders in the last month.. have been the problem. Everything else about this place is awesome, good quality, very clean, good value. read more

Food and service has been declining for years but it wasn't completely terrible. And as it's a local business I try to support it from time to time. But this last visit just ended it for me. I went on Sunday (Father's day) to get food for myself and my kids. All the food was super greasy and not done with much care it seemed. But it was busy and although when I went in it wasn't packed I'm sure it was a busy day and I can understand things getting missed. But they completely botched my burrito to the point I didn't even take a bite. I had to leave for work so i saved it to go back and get it replaced the next day. This morning I went in to have them correct their mistake. I explained the issue and while they agreed to replace the burrito, I was scolded for not explaining my order correctly or repeating myself. Basically telling me to treat them as children and hold their hand to make sure they do their job correctly. I mentioned I gave clear instructions but didn't want to argue so that's all I said. I take the burrito home to eat, first bite and it's wrong. This isn't the end of the world, my life isn't ruined. But I did pay for a product. They gave me the wrong item the first time but I gave them a chance to correct their mistake. Only to get blamed for not holding their hand and then given the wrong item again. I'm done with this business. And I'll make sure to let everyone know what crap pot it has become. read more

What a disappointment! Ordered a adobado burrito plate, let me start with the burrito or the massive tortilla filled with possibly a third cup of meat that was diced so tiny that all you tasted was tortilla that was covered in sour cream. Mind you this burrito was ginormous but don't be fooled all it was, a ginormous tortilla! The rice & beans looked like a general serving but it was served in such a way that it was spread thin to fill the plate. The horchata, so sweet I asked for water to water it down. Needless to say I couldn't & barely touched my meal. Don't waste your hard earned money coming to this joint. read more

Waited too long in line to get these... Honestly doesn't look appetizing. Was a waste to spent 15 bucks on this. I waited in line for almost 35 minutes at the window. Cashier was rude and forgot my drink. I wouldn't even give it one start, really bad service. read more

I've been back a few times since my last review. Great update - I don't think that chick works here anymore. Haven't seen her since... I love the twin girls, I think one of their names is Joseline (they're always soooo sweet) love when their in the drive thru. This place is literally my weekend go-to for awesome Mexican breakfast. My wife and I love their wet burritos and it doesn't disappoint. I just really wished they fixed their drive thru speaker box, it is hard to hear. Food is great and it always seems busy which is a great thing. read more

If I were back in Los Angeles I'd probably rate this place closer to 3 stars as I've had much better. But for up here it's quite good. Probably the 2nd best Mexican I've experienced in the area. The portion sizes are average and the tacos and burritos are both very good. Nothing that will blow you away but you definitely won't feel cheated and if you're craving Mexican you can't do much better in the area. The cons are these. The salsa is weak. Even the so called extra hot tasted like standard Tapatio sauce from a jar. The pico de gao was not bad but not great either. The napkins are cheap and flimsy and the customer service is meh. Each time we come here for dinner is always very crowded, the best on the menu (for me) are the Tacos, very yummi, especially my favorites: the Carne Asada Tacos. I can compare their Tacos to those I ate in a Mexican taqueria in Tijuana, same yummi taste. The service is so friendly and always helpful, very prompt too. The best feature is the salsa bar, you can refill as many times you like at no extra charge. I have never tried the Quesadilla, cause I like the Tacos so much and can't seem to be able to order anything else, but am sure is as good!!! And prices are very attractive too, the only drawback is that the drive-thru is not as fast as eating inside. But the food is amazing read more

The most authentic Mexican food that I have found in the Portland/Beaverton area. The restaurant is a fun atmosphere and dining in was a great experience. The menu is full of tasty options, and from what I have had so far --The steak enchiladas-- I'm eager for more. The drive through (albeit may be a little slow, but that is not a big deal when the food you receive is really really good and above expectations.) The only reason for this not to be 5 stars is that the food does come out inconsistenly. Sometimes it's spicier then others, and quality can vary slightly. Overall a great place! read more

The lady who answered the phone was shockingly rude when I inquired about the chorizo, wanting to confirm whether it was made with beef as indicated online.
