Fish soup, with cabbage, celery, Carrots the soup broth is not plain it has some spice to it really good flavor
    Gem T.

Called to order a fish soup asked about ingredients on the fish soup and the 7 mares couldn't give much info on what it had, asked about certain ingredients due to a recent surgery and restrictions on what I can eat, heard the lady ask someone about it and said they are asking to many questions, please keep in mind that someone might have just got a surgery, someone has food restrictions, someone has allergies this all applies on why someone is asking certain questions not because they want to make your day hard. After all ordered the fish soup but unfortunately it had spicy soup and I could not eat it had to just eat the fish with cabbage which was good just really wanted the broth

This is for all my traveling friends blazing along I-10 in New Mexico. Exit right now to Deming and go to Irma's Mexican. What a lovely find this was. True New Mexico style mexican cooking. We had enchiladas and burritos and I wouldn't change a thing. This will be a regular stop on our Tucson to Austin drives. Reasonably priced, nice wait staff and a great bit of home style cooking. Pass by and ignore any negative reviews this place does a good job.

Always eat here when traveling through NM. Street parking always available. Great service, clean, friendly, authentic New Mexican fare at a good price. Traditional menu, generousAfter eating check out the Deming Museum which is just a block away!

Parrilladas for 2 - FYI- I had already begun enjoying the meal.

We stopped here for early dinner on the way to the west coast and will for sure stop when traveling thru again. Adriana was so friendly and courteous during our time there. The Parrilladas for 2 was amazing. There was plenty of food and it was delicious. The fajita meat, cheese, corn tortillas with avocado and grilled onions were served on a dish -which was shaped like a fish- warmed by a sterno. In addition you are served a baked potato with plenty of butter each and a bowl of the delicious charro beans made with hatch chili. The place has room for large groups and parking is on city street.

The service was very good. The food was good. All in my party enjoyed their meals. I wrote on one of the photos that when I ordered flautas they gave me corn tortillas. I'm from California and flautas are flour tortillas but I guess they are really differentiated by the size of the tortilla. They were definitely good. I would recommend this restaurant.

This is a must place to stop and eat !!

We asked a local person where should we have brunch and without hesitation they said go to Irma's. So we pulled up and went inside. It's a delightful restaurant with bright colors and such a welcoming feel from the moment you step inside. There was a warning that we'd be a bit on peak times, 30 minutes, and they was the case as every table was full. I took that as a great sign. If people are lining out the door, it must be great. We were given chips, amazing salsa and drinks quickly. And then they took our order shortly after. My food was hot and so tasty, it felt like it was slow cooked with all old family recipes. I got a sample plate with green chili and enchalada and taco, beans, rice and it was a huge plate so filling. I loved the salsa so much they sold me a huge cup on the side to bring home. If you can make the time, this is a great place to sit, eat and relax. They even had a TV so hubs could catch the football game. It wasn't distracting, just a nice convenience. Will return next time I'm through town, and I've already recommended to friends.

    Steak quesadilla to go

I love mom and pop style Mexican restaurants and I was excited when I came across this one as we were passing through Deming. We called in an order for pick up and took it with us to the Walmart parking lot while we charged our truck. For ease of eating on the go, I decided on a steak quesadilla instead of my usual Mexican order of enchiladas. The quesadilla was delicious! Looking at the photos of the rice convinced me to get an order of it on the side as it's the perfect definition of what Mexican rice is supposed to be. I'd love to eat in restaurant here but we're only ever passing through Deming at Christmas with our pups on our way from Albuquerque to San Diego so I'm not sure it'll happen but I'd be happy to pick up food to go still.

NM 01-2024 Irma's Mexican Restaurant in Deming. #bucketlisttriplisatony2024 Tony and I had dinner last night at Irma's. They were packed full of locals so we were very hopeful. He ordered the flutas 2 chicken and one beef with beans and rice and it came with side of sour cream & guacamole and I ordered the steak Tacos Mexican street style...I ordered tea and he got a Budweiser The food was very bland but we ate it. It was okay, nothing to be happy about

Ay Caramba, Irma. Your chile rellenos were a piece of heaven and his chicken chimichangas excellente. The servers were sweet and polite, and with an atmosphere that felt homey- what a great lunch . 4.5 Estrellas, gracias!

Best Mexican food in Deming, maybe anywhere. If you ask you can get green Chile for your chips instead of or with their regular salsa. Yum.

There's an outdoor patio area that was not in use when we went but would have been lovely for a nice cool evening. The interior has an old school feel to it. I really wished I could rate this place higher but my steak was overcooked and bland and my husband said his was just ok. This place popped up on the map nearby and was chosen by a family member. We went in for an early dinner around 5pm, with a reservation as other reviews said to reserve and we had 8 people. At that time, we didn't need to book anything, was plenty of space, but by the time we left it had filled up in the front bar and seating area near the fireplace and the dining room in the back where we had been. The food was solid. A couple people in our group ordered the ribeye which was good, a burger, and we had 2 servings of the green chile pork stew, that was my favorite thing. It had a really nice green chile flavor and some good heat to it. I liked the cheese, sour cream, and delicious tortillas served with it. I ordered a glass of wine but I didn't love it, it was a heavier red than I like, should have had a beer or iced tea. All in all, a unique restaurant to have a family dinner, with an old time ambiance and modern service & food. They have a door to the old opera house area that people can go check out, it was definitely run down and lackluster back there. Doesn't seem to be used at this time and smelled of fried food. Maybe kitchen smells waft back there. Not much of a draw, however the front entrance and saloon area was cool. They had a live musician, couldn't hear it in the back dining room but I saw him by the big painting of cartoonish nude woman.
