I was supposed to get my windows tinted and the guy was super dismissive, so my mood was already off. I decided tacos were the only way to save my soul... and this little taqueria delivered. From the moment I walked in, the service was warm and genuinely kind. You can tell they care about their customers. The food? Amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. I ordered way more than I expected because everything looked so good, and now I'm stuffed with a whole bag of leftovers to take home. The horchata was absolutely delicious, like truly top-tier. Cold, creamy, and the perfect balance of sweetness. And the best part? It was all super affordable for the amount and quality of food you get. If you're ever in BayPoint, do yourself a favor and stop here. Great service, great food, great prices, and the kind of place that turns a bad day into a really good one. This little fluke of a stop completely changed my mood, and I'll definitely be back.‍

It smelled a little off, there were ants on the floor, and the waiter's perfume was kinda strong but the food was really good and the self proclaimed best micheladas delivered. I'll probably try the other location to see if it's just as good, but they have an extensive menu and great food so I recommend Los Reyes

My situation has changed and I tend to eat there probably once a month with my boyfriend. He sometimes has one of the meals. I tend to have a bowl of bean dip with some chips and salsa and two crunchy tacos. He started getting that as well. We quite often eat there after one of us is either had a hard day or just finished the yard project. I feel like they know us cause they sometimes bring me extra salsa without asking. I really can't vouch for the other the meals because I haven't had one in a very long time but....what I do order I really enjoy and always leave there Happy and full. It's hard to believe I've been coming 26 years... I feel like it's my little neighborhood restaurant and servers are always pleasant.

The service is great, always friendly & immediate to take care of their customers. I love their quesabirrias! Every time i get them, they never had fatty like other places & that within itself makes a difference. The horchata is always on point, never to sweet or unsweet just right! Their wet burritos are also one of my favorites to get!!

Honestly, one taco can be filling on its own. I've also tried the shrimp tacos and enchiladas, and both are really good. My husband usually gets a burrito, and that's always amazing too. Definitely recommend checking this place out! Try to come early, especially on weekends, because it gets really packed. It's not a big of a place so gets busy, ambiance is very casual.

That portion size. The amount of meat. Looking at the picture always makes me crave tacos again and again and again. The meat, whether it was the pork belly or the carnitas, was so flavorful. Every bite was juicy and addicting - just kept wanting more bites after another. They had a sauce that my friend and I kept adding and it was very delicious. A little kick or a lot of spice really elevates the food even more. The super birria quesadilla definitely fulfills the price you pay for it and more. Gigantic , overfilled quesadilla that had so much seasoning and just made with lots of love. Overall, we had an amazing dining experience here. Parking may be limited when it is prime dining hours. Food came in fast. Service was also great.

Feb 2 2025 3.5 stars…read more Lately our go to Mexican eats is Cinco De Mayo in Martinez. Christians-smh. It is Sunday and Cinco is closed. The server and service here at Isla was perfect. I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Unfortunately the smallish rice and bean servings on both plates were luke warm and tasted so so. . I had similar hotter to those with tv dinners back in the day. The two plates and a coke at $43 has me scratching my chin on whether we will make that drive again. That is unless it is Sunday. Then possibly. .

After giving it some thought, I decided to return and explore what it was about Isla that everyone raved over. This time around, I ordered the fish tacos, and I was hooked! Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating. The space is beautiful, making it even more enjoyable to stop by for those irresistible fish tacos. Here's a quick rundown of my ratings: Fish (all varieties): 8.7/10 Birria: 7/10 (good, but not their standout item) Carne Asada Super Burrito: 5.8/10 When it comes to satisfying my fish taco cravings, Isla remains the only choice.
