My only complaint is sometimes it's not there or closed. But it's a truck so I understand! The shrimp tacos are amazing.

Simple tacos with just protein, cucumbers, onion, cilantro and your choice of hot sauce. This is my favorite fast dinner in p ridge.

I had beef, chicken, and pork tacos which were all delicious. The best in my opinion is the beef. Generous portion size was wonderful. One of the owners told me sometimes they have Elotes on the weekends. In case you don't know, Elotes (corn on the cob) is dressed in yummy mayo, cotigo (sp?) cheese, and spiced w some other yummy red spices... An exotic dish that is VERY hard to come by outside of Cali and well, Mexico. I'll be calling them every Saturday to check. read more

Hands down, best Mexican food in town. Authentic meats, great flavors, quick service; and it's in a parking lot. What more could you ask for? When we moved back to Cincinnati from Columbus we were disappointed by the lack of taco trucks in town. But Tacos Locos fills the delicious void. The menu is simple. And the tacos are wonderfully simple: great marinated meat, onion and cilantro. I usually go with the pastor but have tried everything but lingua (cow tongue). Awesome that they have it but not my favorite cut as I can't get beyond the texture of tongue. The green hot sauce is spicy but tasty as all get it out. Ask for extra. read more

A wonderful find in the heart of PR. Although I did feel like the parking lot was a bit shady it is well worth the risk. The meats (I've tried the pork, steak and chicken) are well cooked with plenty of cilantro and onion. Try the steak torta. You will not be disappointed! read more

Lots of people go to Mexican restaurants to get Mexican dishes with tomato and sour cream. THATS NOT MEXICAN FOOD!!! It's AmeriMex. There are a few taquerias in town and a few Mexican food trucks that I frequent and this is one of them!!. $2 tacos with fresh sliced cucumber, cilantro and onion with pepper sauces to match. They are amazing! Chicken and steak are some favorites but they also have chorizo and shrimp as well. Shrimp is $1 more but so worth it as there aren't any other "authentic" Mexican eateries that serve shrimp tacos. Not having one would be denying yourself a unique experience. This truck is hard to keep up with and you really have to stay on your toes. I've followed it to three different locations so far. Right now it is NOT ON READING RD. It is in Kennedy Heights across the street from Everybody's Records in the gas station parking lot. You can't miss it. If you're looking for authentic reasonably priced Mexican food, this is the place for you. My girlfriend is from Mexico and loves this place for it's authenticity. The only draw back is there's not really a place to eat there but what do you expect from a food truck. Definitely worth a trip to try it out. read more

It is not a hole in the wall or a truck vendor. It is a trailer vendor that knows how to make simple and tasty Mexican food. Picking up a tortes, soft taco or burrito there makes me feel like I am south of Tijuana without the bad water. The food is not fancy, just yummy. As with going to Mexico, I recommend their food with a rich beer. Tacos Locos is a good value too. My daughter can eat there for $4, two soft tacos and $7-8 for me and each of my sons. That includes a veggies, lime, nicely sized portions and a good sauce. I recommend it for a pretty quick Mexican meal. read more

Like one of the previous reviewers, I am a Californian and have all but given up on "Mexican" food here. I hate Cincy-Mex food with a passion. I have walked by this food truck at the stab and grab by my house for months until I saw it on urbanspoon and remembered that, like at home, some of the best and most authentic Mexican food comes off of food trucks. I read the reviews and now I'm excited so I tear out of the house with my son (also from CA and starving for real Mexican food) on a mission but halfway up the block I prepare for yet another let down... NOT THIS TIME! The owner spoke broken english (good sign) and he, his son, and the interior seemed very clean (another good sign). After taking our order, minus the cow tongue taco, no cow tongue today, he said give me 10 minutes and he went to work chopping and cooking. Fresh made to order food what a concept! I ordered the shrimp burrito which was $10 but OMG! I actually thought it was kind of light on the spice which was odd because I told him I was from CA so make it as hot as possible (a trick I have had moderate success with here) but it was flavorful, and then I saw my daughter-in-law had some green sauce on her taco. Holy crap! That guacamole I ignored was a tomatillo based hot sauce! I love verde salsa if given the choice but this stuff was unreal and VERY hot. My wife prefers red hot sauce but she loved it as well. I actually prefer the border Mexican food I am used to but this was legit and it took me away to vacation deep in the heart of Mexico which makes sense because the owner is from Mexico City. Don't forget to add the sauce! It makes sense that he puts it on the side because this stuff was hot so my wife, son, and I love it hot but my daughter-in-law using a tiny bit yelped and started fanning her tongue. My nose is still running a little from it. So sauce to taste. Overall, we were all nodding and saying "amazing". It would seem like a high price from a food truck but was well worth every penny. Anyway this was the best 'authentic' Mexican food I have ever had here, CA, or Mexico and it's within walking distance, go me! Also, I was just talking to my buddy from AZ and we are like an underground network of displaced people so we rely on reviews from people that grew up on the same foods and just like I trusted another Californian reviewer, you can trust me, IF you are from a border state, or IF you want authentic Mexican food. I'm not going to lie. I have been very skeptical in trying food from a food truck so I toggled with trying this place for a while. I had a taste of authentic Mexican food so I decided to see what everyone had to say about the restaurants nearby. After passing taco locos I decided to do a u Turn and pull into the entrance. I ordered a shrimp fajita quesadilla with a side of sour cream. I couldn't wait until I arrived at my destination to open the to go box and see what the hype was about. I pulled apart a corner piece of what seemed to be a basic quesadilla and..... as all the flavors burst into my mouth I found myself eating more and more until the only thing was left was the side of sour cream (which was unnecessary) and the salsa. The quesadilla consists of cheese peppers onions shrimp tomatoes and seasonings I have never experienced before. It was sooooooo good I wanted to hug the chef. We have lived PR for over a year and I'm so sad it took us this long to get food from here bc I now know what I have been missing out on all this time! We got 8 tacos (steak, shrimp, pork, chorizo, and chicken) and a quesadilla. My husband liked the steak (naturally) and I liked the pork the best, but there really wasn't a bad one in the bunch. Food trucks aren't a new phenomena, but their recent rise in popularity is relatively new to the local scene. While a number of food trucks are pretty popular and regularly roam the Greater Cincinnati Area, others find home in a permanent space. Adhering to the former, you'll find Cafe de Wheels (The Burger Truck), PizzaBomba, and a number of others. Tacos Locos, however, adheres to the latter and has a permanent residence. Location: Enjoying a home in Pleasant Ridge, this food truck is situated on Montgomery Road, just south of Pleasant Ridge Chili and in the parking lot of what appears to be a shady convenient store. Don't let its sketchy facade and surroundings deter you from trying it, though, as there are plenty of parking spaces where your vehicle can call home for at least the duration of the meal. Pretty easy to find and enough parking. Atmosphere: Not much can really be said here. Because ordering food at a food truck is--often times--synonymous with eating in your car or on the fly, there is not much atmosphere to speak of here. Food: Tacos Locos serves up some pretty authentic Mexican fare, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas. If you're starving, I highly recommend the latter. If you're looking to try a variety of things, I suggest ordering singular items a la carte. The tortas are basically giant sandwiches boasting whichever meat you would like, and my dinner date this particular evening opted for the pork version. It was stellar, featuring pork, jalapenos, onions, and cheese. The flavor was outstanding, and this was the best thing that I got to try. Feeling some serious pressure and unsure of what to get, I decided on a shrimp taco and cheese quesadilla with sour cream on the side. He forgot the sour cream, but I ate the quesadilla with hot sauce (free; comes with meal) instead. The hot sauce had the right amount of heat, but the wrong kind of flavor. It wasn't awesome, in my opinion. I enjoyed the shrimp taco, but next time I am absolutely getting a torta, and there are a plethora of vegetarian options as well for the non-meat-eaters. Overall Grade: C+ [out of possible A+] Good, but not amazing, and I'd rather eat at a sit-down restaurant. That being said, next time you see a Cincinnati food truck, I suggest giving it your patronage. I've yet to eat from one I dislike, and you can't beat the speed and convenience of a fast food restaurant, with the deliciousness and authenticity of a larger sit-down one. read more

We absolutely love this place. My husband is from Campeche Mexico and he really enjoys the food.. If that speaks to anything. No you aren't going to find cheese on the tacos.. I've NEVER found cheese on authentic tacos. Perhaps in specific states in Mexico they use cheese but the majority have a staple- chopped onions and cilantro. This place, instead of some, gives you cucumber instead of radishes.. Which is a welcome change. My husband isn't a huge fan.. But that's fine more cucumber for me! I've had tacos, tortas, quesadillas... In chicken, al pastor, and steak. All delicious. Food is hot and made to order and well seasoned. I am so glad Tacos Locos is back in Pleasant Ridge, although I would drive a hour to have one of their Lengue Burritos. The tortas and salads are a family favorites. The expanded menu has very good vegetarian options. Mexican Coke and other soft drinks are available. Want other beverage choices? The BP station has the best beer selection in the city. Que Rico! This place is bomb. I lived in Columbus, OH for a short period of time and there is taco trucks EVERYWHERE!! I was super disappointed when I came back to Cincy and realized there is basically no taco trucks here. So, I got excited when I saw Tacos Locos. My boyfriend got 5 tacos al pastor, the meat was seasoned really well and the tortillas were homemade (a rarity here in Cincinnati.). I also loved the cucumber in the tacos- as I normally see radishes. It made the tacos juicy! I got the torta de asada. It was a really good HUGE torta. I loved all the ingredients, my only complaint was the meat needed more spices, but I LOVE heavily spiced items- so it's probably better for most. Overall, awesome place- killer salsa verde. I'll definitely be back! Just need a few tables outside! read more
