Great food!! This place has the best tamales and sopes ever!! I appreciate the freshness of the food and the flavors were spot on. They have booths and table seating. The service was good. The waitress answered my questions. The only item I didn't care for was the rice. It wasn't flavorful at all. But I would go back and just not order the rice. The sopes have so much flavor and were very filling. They even had a char on the bottom. They have salsa verde, green sauce, and the red sauce. The red sauce is too spicy for me, but the green had just enough "kick." I can't wait to go back!! read more

Finally we were able to find a small, festive Mexican food spot with authentic dishes and atmosphere! Tried Huaraches for the first time, and I highly recommend! Tasted so fresh and had beautiful presentation with fresh avocados, cotija cheese, and Mexican crema. Husband had the beef burrito and asada taco. He was very happy with the portions and flavors. Yum! What a great as others would say hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant! Chips and salsa were plentiful and queso dip even had a little kick. My husband ordered a chorizo chimichanga and he really enjoyed it. Their rice and beans are really good! Some of the best I have had. The carnitas taco was delicious and loved all the cilantro and onion on it. As spring has begun, I found myself in the need for a midday pick me up after a long morning at work. I was in the mood for some good quality tacos and I have passed by this restaurant dozens of times before. So I decided to go in. When I arrived, I was given a table, but there were three other tables that still needed to be cleaned, and only two others were occupied. Thankfully they did clean them quickly when they noticed that I was not facing the rest of the restaurant. I was given warm tortilla chips and red salsa, thankfully, none of that weird white stuff. I ordered two steak tacos, a Carnitas taco and a roast pork Taco. They all came with onion and cilantro, each one cost $2.50. I enjoyed all of them, but the steak was my favorite. They also serve Coke in the glass bottles, the way God intended Coke to be drank. My total was $14.91, not bad at all. Maybe next time, I would splurge the $5.99 for the house made guacamole. read more

A hole in the wall is an understatement. An OK neighborhood taco place BUT it's authentic. Why is it just OK? The meat they use is very low grade and found several fat grizzle in my burrito. The meat was not tender at all! The flan should have caramelized consistency, however it was watery. The soda was flat! The place need a touch of renovation! On the positive note, chips and salsa was delicious. Service was friendly and when I complained about the flat soda our server brought us soda can and a cup with ice. Ok, ok, two stars may seem kind of harsh, but I take my Mexican food seriously. I'm from the Southwest. And this would never fly in Albuquerque, this I promise. I guess some disclaimers are due, and probably warranted. It's the COVID effect. No dining in, just grab and go. So ambiance didn't make it into the equation, nor did service. However, based on food alone? Nope! Not feelin' 'em. And to top it off, my chimichanga was 1/2 the size a chimichanga should be. It wasn't rectangular, it was square..., WTH? Small and square. There's a small seating area in front and more in a back room, service is swift and friendly and anything you get on the menu is amazing. But the reason I did that simply because this service was just not up to par in any way shape or form. I have never written a review, but felt compelled to share the disgusting experience/ service I had at this establishment. For one, the quality of chicken in the chicken tacos (Mexicanos) was poor, containing hard, grisled pieces throughout the taco. To my complete surprise, I found a random ball of cheese in my salsa (I am lactose intolerant) along with a disgusting bathroom with no paper towels... Furthermore, as I was checking out at the front counter, the total I was given was called into question as it did not reflect the items ordered (not to mention the issues with my food). As I questioned the server, she proceeded to give silly excuses to justify the price, none of it making sense. After I continued to question, asking to see the tab she ranged up, she grabs the manager. The manager comes to the register to look into the issue of the total. She proceeds to review the tab, re-rings the items, and to my surprise, the total increases by $2. After demanding an explanation about the initial price and increase in the second total, the manager begins to start an argument with me, shoving the menu in my face, yelling at me to "look at the menu!" as she's pointing at the price of a random item. At this point, I was appalled - completely taken aback and confused as to why this was happening. I felt disrespected, and to experience this level of unprofessionalism along with the quality of food and unkept washroom was absurd. Not only do I feel lied to and disrespected, I can't help but to feel that this was somehow racially charged as their approach to me was a bit aggressive. I am disappointed in the behavior from management as this could've been resolved from a simple explanation and some courtesy. 0 stars if it were possible. Never going back here again. The food is okay, we've been here twice now. You usually pay way too much for what you get. We usually get rolled tacos and burrito but it's not work $30+ bucks!!! The numbers don't add up to what's shown on the menu. $46 bucks the other night for 2 dry and basic carne asada burritos with CHUNKS of tomato and 10 mini carne tacos with way too much cilantro and onion on them- thats it. I grew up in Los Angeles eating street tacos, buying elote from the man on the corner, and eating tamales and pozole every Christmas. I have been to Mexico more times than I can count and can speak Spanish pretty well. So I would say my rating of Mexican food is as good as it gets from a non-Mexican. DON'T come here if you're looking for "fajitas with rice on the side," a pepsi, and some watered down tomato salsa. When you come here, expect to eat tacos, sopes, gorditas, REAL carne asada, and drink horchata, aguas frescas, jarritos (pineapple flavor is where it's at) and if you're lucky, indulge in a slice of tres leches cake. I was so excited to see all these actual Mexican food items on the menu. They also offer an "americanized" version (boo!) for anyone who wants it, but why come to a MEXICAN food joint to eat AMERICANIZED food?
