My go-to for lunchtime Taco Tuesdays. I usually get the al pastor tacos, but I'll occasionally get some lengua. If I'm really hungry, a burrito will fill me up. Their jamaica is good too, and their large is the size of a Big Gulp. Both the rojo and verde salsas are tasty with a medium heat. Love that they give you radishes with the tacos. Wish there was a little more shade during hot days. You get to see all the cop motorcycles from all nearby jurisdictions that get serviced by the BMW Moto dealer there. read more

Was waiting for my car to charge nearby, so decided to stop by and try out the tacos. I ordered a carnitas, al pastor, and a asada taco. The best one out of the 3 I would say was the carnitas, it was very flavorful and had a nice crisp to it like how normally like it. They add salsa right on top and had a good spice to it. They have little tables nearby and a bench you can use to sit in the shade, so it was nice. Overall for 3 tacos and a Mexican coke for $14, you can't beat that price, for the meats aim for the carnitas can't go wrong read more

Has been my go to food truck for an Al Pastor burrito since they were located at the Chevron in San Marcos and been following them ever since. I have visited them when located in Oceanside and now Vista Not sure if they have always used sour cream but this time the sour cream was too much. Always thought they used cotija cheese. I would not recommend the new vista location. For the best experience stick to their OG truck in San Marcos. Portion size is good and ingredient proportions are perfect. They always include salsas on the side and sides like radish, pickled jalapeño and carrots and limes Vista location needs a bit of improvement. It's a taco truck--actually a trailer--located in the "Furniture Row" area of San Marcos. The address is listed on Yelp and it's easy to find. I tried the al pastor burrito. It's not huge but it's not small, either. It had more rice than I prefer but the pastor was tender and had good flavor. The little cup of hot sauce they give you was really good. It was spicy but not over the top. They were doing steady business during my visit but my order was ready in about 5 minutes. Nice. 2022 Food Truck Month, Part 5 October is typically one of my favorite months of the year and because of this series I want this month to end even less than I normally do. I had no idea that many cities don't appear to welcome food trucks within their borders, so tracking one down can be a little more challenging than I anticipated. Having said that I've really enjoyed searching for them where they can be found and I absolutely intend to continue this series in October 2023! We caught up with "Tacos Mi Estilo Jalisco" on the corner of Los Vallecitos Boulevard and Bingham Drive in San Marcos, California. Their "Pollo Tacos" and "Pollo Burrito" were both flavorful and enjoyable. Where they really distinguished themselves was with their "Asada Tacos" and "Carnitas Burrito." The fresh ingredients and flavors really complimented one another and made both these items excellent. Not lost on one of our Review Team Members is that the burritos featured whole pinto beans that were not refried (which brought back fond childhood memories of the pinto beans being prepared in a similar manner). Although their is no seating available, there is a small counter for you to utilize while eating. We discovered a picnic table available in front of the adjacent motorcycle store that came in handy. Food trucks are a weakness of mine. I'm always on the lookout for a new one popping up on the side of the road and am a sucker for pretty much anything served in one. There's just something impressive and personal about someone who likes their food enough to stuff themselves into one of these uncomfortable contraptions and shuttle themselves from place to place to share their passions. And I pass by this food truck damn near every day, but my preference for Costco gas has always kept me out of the Chevron parking lot Tacos Mi Estilo Jalisco usually sets up shop in until recently. Came here on a date night during COVID with the wife, something easy to order and eat while still remaining outside. It wasn't too difficult to order and even though there a good amount of people milling about, we were able to keep a good distance from everyone else around us as we waited. The parking lot itself wasn't the best of venues, but it at least has a good amount of visibility being on both Mission and Las Posas, as well as being nearby Palomar College for between classes traffic. I started with a Camarones Street Taco. The shrimp were plump and well cooked, served in a delicious cream sauce that had a perfect level of salt and spice to it. It was balanced out with a fair amount of onion and cilantro for a satisfying crunch to go with the pop of the meat. Very tasty and definitely worth the up-charge. Next I had a Cabesa Mulita (basically a sandwich with corn tortillas), which is something I didn't even realize was a thing until I came here. Like the shrimp before, the meat was well salted and a had a great, rich flavor. So often restaurants are timid about adding spice and additives, but here they where the limits should be. About the only qualm I had with this dish was that it had an exceedingly high amount of grease, with oil and fat dripping out of each bite in spite of the small size of the dish. And my wife opted for a trio of Street Tacos, Carne Asada, Cabesa, and Carnitas. She was also impressed by the flavor, but with three tacos on her plate, the grease was a bit more evident. The carnitas alone was probably enough oil to keep the car running for quite a while. Regardless, our food was very tasty and worth coming back for another go. Curious how the burritos would hold up if they keep the same amount of liquid in the meat. I'm just glad this truck has been able to withstand the pandemic and am happy to see it plugging along every time I drive down Las Posas. read more

I had a carne asada burrito, and boy, oh boy! This was a damn good burrito, so much so that I am going to get another one today. What sets this burrito apart is the filler. Most San Diego burritos use meat as the main filler. While this burrito is packed with meat, it has rice and beans, which makes it stand out against other places in the area. Reached out to them on Facebook Messenger and they responded right away. They let us know they could come, which is incredible because I didn't even hear back from the other 2 places I reached out to. It was my first time booking a food truck and they made the process easy. They showed up on time, had affordable options, delivered food quickly and were kind and easygoing. They even stayed a little later to accommodate those in line. Their Birria and Asada tacos were outstanding and my family and friends enjoyed them. Everything was intensely flavored in a great way, including the rice and beans in the burrito, and the salsas. The only minor nitpick is that the food is on the salty end of the range. We like salt and still thought the birria quesadilla in particular was a bit too salty. Just something to be aware of if you're sensitive to that. Overall 4.5 stars, rounding up to 5. Walked up to the window (there was no line) and was greeted by a stank face lady with an attitude. Asked a couple questions about their menu and felt like a bother to her. Asking for extra sauce was apparently also annoying. Horrible customer service. Left with a bad taste in my mouth before even trying the food... The one star was for their fish taco which is pretty decent. Their carne asada and Birria tacos were too salty. Even if it was a decent spot to grab a quick bite, bad customer service will keep a lot of customers - including me, from coming back. Decided to come and try this place out because it's near csusm, I was also craving a lengua burrito. Tacos were pretty good they reminded me of the tacos you find in central and northern California, the lengua burrito not sure why they put sour cream on it? Never had a lengua burrito with sour cream, totally killed the taste of the lengua and all other ingredients, they also seem to put very little meat on the burrito.
