Their sopes order hits the spot every time! It comes with 3, but I eat before the camera so there are only 2 left in the picture ;) Love their rice as well; it tastes like it is soaked for quite a while which can sometimes mean you need the tums on standby but so worth it lol. We've eaten inside a few times as well as order pickup once in a while. Plenty of seating inside, and it smells amazing of course. Pickup has never taken more than 15-20 minutes to be ready if it's busy. It only took 10 minutes this last time when they were slower. Great service, super sweet employees, and great food. read more

I called a head and ordered green chicken tamales & red pork tamales. I asked for salsa verde to dip my tamales in. I didn't need the salsa, but it was good. The tamales we the best tamales I've ever eaten. I make really good tamales, our friends from Mexico make wonderful tamales, but these were the best I've ever had. I actually found this place by searching on yelp for Tacos and was reading a review for another restaurant and it was saying to come here for the best tamales so I changed my mind and picked tamales and this restaurant and now every time I'm traveling through Texarkana I will be calling ahead for Tamales. The day I called they said it would be about a 30 minute wait. It took me 36 mins to get there and they were ready when I arrived. The place was packed! Food as authentic as it gets. This was better than some of the "Mexican restaurants" I've eaten at in San Antonio and southern Arizona. The food is all made fresh and is definitely a family own feel. It is also one of the only places that is taking the COVID-19 stuff seriously, and I'm happy about that! The enforce masks, keep social distancing, sanitize everything, and all the stuff were a mask, gloves and are aware of their distance with guests. The food is the best part. It's some of the best Mexican food I've had in my life. If I lived here I would eat here everyday. So skip all the other restaurants and make sure you try this place out. Passing through Texarkana there is a lovely little mom and pop taco place called Tacos Mi Pueblo. The menu is simple but the food is delicious and affordable. This isn't ur Tex mex, hipster fusion taco joint. This is as authentic as you can get! Good, not great. Staff could not have been nicer. Place was pretty clean. Out of a lot of meats and tamales but I was later on a Sunday so I get that. The rice was the best part. Very good rice. The carnitas was ehh so that's why I'm going 3 stars. The Gorditas came out fresh and everything was hot. They have a red and green sauce and both are ok. Good, not great. If you are looking for a place to eat off the interstate that's better than fast food this will fill that need. I would eat here again. read more

About 10 min off interstate 30. Decided to stop by because of the yelp reviews. Kinda disappointed they were out of all of their food. They only had alpastor and another meat for tacos and nothing else. It was on a Sunday around 5pm, they close at 7pm. The reviews aren't wrong, you guys. This place is the real deal. It's possible that I have never tasted better Mexican street food, and that's saying a lot, because Dallas has some five-star Mexican restaurants. When we left after our meal, my boyfriend suggested we start looking for a house in Texarkana, so we could eat here every day. He was joking, but also kinda not. First, it's such a hole-in-the-wall place that we drove right past it. Even with Google Maps guiding us there, we just completely did not see it, zoomed past and had to double-back. Once inside, the dark little one-room restaurant was packed. We had to race other patrons to the last free table. It's order at the counter, and their menu is written in dry-erase marker on a little white board by the register. We ordered one plate of chicken enchiladas, and one chicken Sample Plate (one taco, one gordita, and one sope). Both plates came with rice, and let me just say: WHAT is in that rice?? It's AMAZING. I need the recipe so I can recreate that flavor. SO. GOOD. Okay, now that we've gotten the rice out of the way, on to the entrees! Also just flat out unbelievable. The flavors were spectacular. Every bite was heaven. Need I say more? Seriously, it didn't look like much when they put it in front of us, but we were scraping our plates by the end. I think my favorite thing was the sope, but it was a close contest because everything was incredible. The whole meal was only $19 for both of us, by the way, including tax and tip. They're only open three days a week and it has been packed both times I have been here, and not at what you would consider peak times either. I hate to be the one to give Tacos Mi Pueblo a less than stellar review but it just didn't do it for me. It was good but not outstanding for a 5-Star review. I had the chicken sampler and it was a lot of food and each item tasted the same. A co worker recommended we try Tacos Mi Pueblo when I told her we hadn't found any good Mexican restaurants. Y'all... 1 carnita taco, 1 tamale along with red and green sauce... this recent transplant is homesick no more. This is the real deal y'all. I didn't think anyone could top my late mother in laws tamales but these were just as good if not better. God rest her soul. This will officially be our new weekend spot. I always order ahead. I've had 3 experiences where I called ahead and had to wait an hour only for them to just be making it on the grill. This can be annoying and there is no point to order take out if you are forced to wait anyway an extra 20 or 30 minutes inside. I looked up this place on Yelp knowing we were going to stop in Texarkana for food and was looking for Mexican fare with good reviews. This place did not disappoint. It was crowded when we got there, and we noticed from Yelp it had limited hours. Surely, this was a sign that we went to a good place. I got the sopes with chicken on top, and these were the best sopes I've ever had and topped with the best chicken tinga. I'm looking for something that compares back at home in Louisville, and while I've found something that harkens back to the meal I had at Tacos Mi Pueblo, nothing has come close. Drove through little Texarkana craving tacos and were happy we found this place! Arrived around noon to a long line and nearly all seats filled. By the time our food came we were able to snag a table! Service was great and kept our waters filled. I got two tacos which left me a little hungry. WOW. What a great little Mexican meal. Definitely not Tex Mex, as mentioned before. The cheese in the cheese enchiladas wasn't your cheap Valveeta, melted cheese. It was REAL cheese, and it was delicious. The other enchiladas were also delicious, the chicken being my favorite. Rice was perfect. Beans were very good. Would easily be 5 stars but the wait was loooong. That being said, it's because it's legit. You could tell it was made to order, not bulk made cheap crap that's so common with Tex Mex. This was REAL. So call it 4.5/5 stars. We simply weren't expecting the wait so it seemed brutally long. But if you go in with the right expectation.... Also, more of an FYI than a complaint, no chips and salsa at tables. This is a nice little hole in the wall - very basic, very small, very low overhead. I'm always drawn by the consistent 5-star reviews but cautious as most times it does not meet expectations. Thankfully, this was NOT the case.
