Lunch menu #1 Two Enchiladas (chicken with jalapeños and sour cream sauce) with rice and beans.

Service was excellent and polite. Ambiance was loud, but normal for a large restaurant. Food and prices were okay. The ground beef was salty, the table salsa was way too tomato-y and really cold, which wasn't good, and the sour cream sauce didn't look pleasing but tasted okay.

Stopped in Texarkana on the way to Dallas, always see it driving back and forth to Arkansas on I30.. To say the least not impressed. Walking in to a nice size restaurant, with a Mexican theme (of course) with bright colors. Starting with the chips and salsa, where the chips were old/hard, salsa was OK.... Unfortunately the queso tasted like can nacho sauce with beef with no flavor and very bland. Husband enjoyed the burrito and the cheese enchilada was bland due to the queso. The shining star of the dinner was the Beef Taco, fresh meat, not greasy, fresh toppings and crunchy shell! Our waitress was nice and attentive.

We are happy to know it is a good chain throughout the south we will be on the lookout as we travel. It was our last Texas stop. We were amazed at the generous portions. Very fresh the served piping hot! The chips were fresh and tasty. The salsa was very good. Our server was amazingly friendly and hospitable. Very clean and a fun festive authentic ambiance.

Very straight forward Tex-Mex restaurant on I-30. Being in this location means lunch / dinner rush and I cannot say more about how great their service was. Everyone was very friendly and super sharp. You can tell they get a lot of practices being in this convenient location. The food is very standard, large portions for the price. A family whether traveling or in town can eat well here. Interior decoration reminded me of Chuy's. Overall a solid restaurant, I can't say I will be coming here regularly but if you're in a pinch and want some solid Tex-Mex this is a good option for you.

Good food; friendly, fair prices. Only complaint is the queso. Runny and not real flavorful.

Always good food. Beer is not always cold. Margaritas are fairly good. Fajitas are the best. Taco Tuesdays are great.

Brenda L was the server who took my order. Per their suggestion I ordered the birria tacos which came with rice, beans, toppings and then a side of chips and salsa. The tacos were okay. I think coming from Texas I'm just used to food being more seasoned, but the meat was tender and the portions were generous. Now usually at a taco joint either the green or red salsa will be on the milder, less spicy side but here ?? If you like heat then you're in for a treat because oh my lord LOL. Excited because we really liked it when there was one still open near us (DFW area), and hesitant because we weren't sure if it was going to be as good as we remember. No need to worry, though - it was great! We ordered skinny margaritas and added the extra Ancho Reyes Chili shot to give it a spike of spice (which was a good decision!). The chips and salsa was so delicious - we had nearly finished off 2 full bowls of chips. Our meals were delicious and we decided to go ahead and grab the $6 to-go meals for lunch/dinner the next day. The food was best fresh from the kitchen; but the take home meals were definitely worth $6! It took a little bit of time to get initially seated, but this was probably because of the time of day were there (2pm). After being sat, service was perfect - attentive, but not intruding. Our server (the bartender) answered our questions and packed our to go order quickly, she even hooked us up with chips & salsa to go. Because of our terrific experience at Texarkana's El Chico, we looked for locations "near" us and found 3 within an hour travel time of our house. We can't wait to these, too.
