The Tacos Mi Rancho turned out to be a pleasant surprise on our road trip. The chunky chips and spicy salsa were delicious and free. I ordered the chili rellano which generally is served with Red chili at Tacos Mi Rancho. I substituted their pork green Chile for the red, and it was tasty but not Spicy.This rellano was made With the largest Chile I have ever seen! I loved the tender batter, the generous amount of mild cheese, and it all was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself could use a little tender loving care, but it was quaint. This restaurant was not a " one Dollar sign" restaurant, so just be aware. This is the place if you want real authentic Mexican food! The chili rellenos are amazing! Whole pepper with the stem and stuffed with cheese. I am surprised at how many good reviews this place has. We stopped in on Wednesday morning to order breakfast burritos to go. The place was filthy. For instance, there was grime caked in the counter tile. If the counter is that dirty, I wonder what the kitchen looks like where they cook the food. We ordered the sausage and egg burritos. That's all they had in them: sausage and egg. Very bland. No cheese, no salsa, and the eggs were cooked poorly. Seriously, what a waste of calories. Just overcooked scrambled eggs with chunks of sausage. I was really tempted to just throw it out, but I hate waste. The only reason I can see that anyone would come here is the price. The two burritos were about $5.00 each. They should add more ingredients and raise the price. read more

Again was passing through and was searching for some good border food. Came across this place. Extremely friendly staff, felt like family. I asked just for something they'd recommend. The food was delivered and did not disappoint! It was a carne asada maybe with flank steak?? Whatever it was it was delicious!!! My friend and I both thought best Mexican food we have had hands down. Authentic and decently priced. The family dinner was worth it and everyone seemed to enjoy their tacos. Will visit next time I am in town.

After waiting for 30 minutes we got the wrong order. Make sure to check your order before leaving they wont reimburse you.

I can't believe the people who gave this place 4 or more stars. I ordered carnitas and they were terrible, dried out and burnt. Same for the rice. $14.75 was way to much for a lousy meal. Also they charge $8.99 for a margarita, I didn't buy one. We ordered 2 beers which never came read more

Decided to stop by at this restaurant after reading it rated in the top 10 of Yuma Restaurants. It does seem like the menu prices found online for this place is outdated. In any event we stopped. Parked at what I thought was the front entrance and tried opening the door and it would not budge. There was a "We're Open" sign hanging and the restaurant is boarded up. We decided to walk around, A-ha another door. We stood there at the entrance and then were told we could sit anywhere. We opted to sit in the second area. The bigger tables had signs that they didn't want small. Groups sitting but groups of 5-6. We sat at a 2 seated table. After glimpsing over the menu I settled for the carnitas torta and my son got the quesadilla kids meal. I did find it odd that I was asked if I wanted a kids menu, given my son was only 6 and clearly young? In any event, the waitress was accommodating, friendly and attentive. The food however did not live up to my expectations. To start my sons quesadilla was so oily, I told him he did not have to eat it. The carnitas was sooo dry, it had beans, cabbage, guac and meat but all I could taste was the onions. I could barely see, let alone taste the beans on the sandwich. The chips were very hard, but my son seemed to love them. I however give a thumps up for the salsa, if you love good spiced salsa this is there place for you. As for me, Sombreros seems like a more familiar choice for the future. read more

This was our first visit to this restaurant. Wonderful outstanding fantastic!!! Food was sooooooo good. Plates full. I had Machaca, which I had never heard of. Lots of shredded soft moist beef and veggies, with some sort of red sauce mixed in, served with corn or flour tortillas. Salsa was to die for. Wish I had that recipe. We were a little early and thankfully so as by the time we finished, it was full with a long eating line. We don't get to Yuma often, but will definitely go again. On our long drive home from San Diego we made a food and gas stop. We picked this place because of the reviews and they were right. This was a good place to stop for a bite to eat. The food is delicious and the plates are overwhelming with food. Staff are friendly and fast. The only down fall of this place is the bathrooms. Sooo small it's like being in a broom closet. Placed a to go order. Chilaquiles with no cheese. I get there and the lady who helped me repeats my order to me. All correct. I get home and there is an ugly amount of cheese into each layer of the chiliaquiles and all over the beans. Couldnt scrape it all out. What a waste. I have been to Yuma twice now to get dental work in Los Algodonas. Hate dental work, but the combo of the Coronado Motel and really good Mexican food across the street makes me look forward to the trip. Since I am having my teeth my teeth worked on, I am limited to soft food. My go to is Huevos con chorizo for breakfast or enchiladas for later.Both are very good comfort food. Breakfasts are served with fried potatoes cooked with salsa.. delish. Service is fine but servers tend to chatter among themselves. My favorite thing about the restaurant is the décor. Vintage Mexican movie stars are featured. I remember some.. Canticles and Pepe for sure and other faces look very familiar from when I was young The overall experience is very good. UGGGHHHH!!! I had such high hopes for this place! I am not very familiar with the area, as this is my first visit to Yuma, but I figured any Mexican food should be awesome. I checked Yelp and this came up as the second highest rated restaurant in Yuma. First, was of course, In N Out. Blah. Anways, so I trekked over to Mi Rancho and things were looking good. It looked like a good hole in the wall place. The menu had plenty of choices, so I decided on the three item combo. (BTW no idea how I thought I was going to eat all this food). It came with a sope, soft taco, hard taco, rice and beans. I'm normally go for the rice over the beans, but I just couldnt get enough of the beans. They were by far the best part. The sope, two tacos and rice all lacked flavor. It kind of tasted like cafeteria food. I was really really sad. I gave them three stars because they did do something that every other Mexican restaurant can't seem to figure out. THEY HAD NORMAL NAPKINS!!! Now that I think about it, maybe that would have been a sign of the food. Most Mexican restaurants give you those flimsy, one wipe napkins to use for all of their greasy food. This is a huge issue for me because it makes no sense. Mi Rancho had normal, full size, multiple use napkins, so this may have accounted for their food lacking flavor. Bad napkins = flavorful food. Good napkins = flavorless food. I do also want to note the service, the two girls were really sweet. They were really attentive and chatted with me the whole time I waited for my food. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch - ordered ala carte: one beef tamale with red sauce, one each beef, chicken and potato rolled tacos with lettuce and tomatoes, and a side of beans. The food was excellent! The beans had little pieces of pork which gave it that smoky flavor I like so much. The rolled tacos were very tasty; in order of preference, my favorites were the potatoes, chicken and then the beef. The tamale was delicious! The red sauce was perfect in every way and had bits of the shredded beef in it. The service was fast, pleasant, and my order was correct as I ordered it. I would definitely come here again!
