Type of place I usually like because they put the food ahead of the environment. Place was clean and kept up just no frills hanging everywhere. (Hope that clears it up). Saw a picture of chicken chili rellano. Well reason I can't have it is because no one has ever made one. The chili's are from California so they are not my favorite. Really good beans and the same for the rice. Corn tortillas were authentic. Salsa was lightly spicy close to perfect. Thinking they put the plate in micro just before bringing it out cause everything was to hot to eat then got cold quickly Perhaps my expectations were to high, quite possible. Excellent food and good service. The red sauce is home made, rich and delicious. The chili relleno was the best I've ever had. It is a double layer of chili stuffed with melty cheese and smothered with the amazing red sauce and topped with more cheese. Yummm read more

Very pleasant atmosphere with efficient, and friendly wait staff. Food, while not the most outstanding we have ever had, was well above average. We both ate off the senior menu ($10.69). She had the chili relleno (her usual) combined with the rolled taco; I went with the carnitas taco plate. I've been too Yuma off and on for the past 7 years and I gotta say, I'm a bit pissed off that I did not find this gem a long time ago...look, I'm from LA and we know good Mexican food! This spot was just that BOMB.COM It's a small hole in the wall, literally. The waitresses are bumping one another and they have to place the plates from the kitchen to the register counter to get them out to the customers who are lucky enough to have a seat. Pardon, back to the bomb.com food. I went with some fish tacos and the ceviche. The ceviche was fresh and they make sure you have plenty of lemon and Tapatio for your tostadas. I also ordered some rolled tacos which I wish would've maybe had some lechuga or guacamole to go with them but their green salsa was a perfect sub when I mixed that with some pico de gallo, you should try it and Thank me later with a compliment. I tend to overdo it when it comes to eating so I wasn't done there as I added a fish taco just to make sure I was satisfied. It didn't disappoint! AMAZING. If you're ever passing through Yuma and need some food, this is your place. Had the rolled tacos plate. Five rolled tacos. Your choice of beef or chicken or mix of the two. Comes out piled up with lettuce, pick, some quac and sour cream. Nice sides of rice and refried beans topped with fresh crumbled cheese. Drinks are huge with refills. I ordered carry out, it took a little while but I was warned that it would, and honestly the food was soo worth the wait! It also gave me the opportunity to try their house margarita while I was waiting too (it was happy hour and the marg was 4.99!) The margarita was delicious and surprisingly strong! Yelp comes thru again! When travelling from Tucson to San Diego, we needed lunch in Yuma. We Yelped up this place and were pleased with the chili Verde - oh so tender and the green sauce was quite flavorful. The al pastor tacos I had were good and the selection of hot sauces on the table was fun (at least 7 different ones). The prices are quite inexpensive as far a price / portion / performance. The facility is small, tight quarters, colorfully dressed servers, brightly painted walls and ceiling, one might think they have crossed the border. Well maybe we did, because ordering in Spanish does help. This place is worthy of another stop, and when I pass thru Yuma again I will. "Let's drive down 4th street and if anything reminds me of what I saw on Yelp, we'll stop there." ... thank goodness only Mi Rancho stayed in my memory because this place was very good!!! 4.5 STARS. We parked in the back lot which was almost full. Good sign. The locals dig this place. w00t w00t! Got in and waited 10 minutes to be seated. Food seems to just take awhile to get to you in Yuma. Maybe it's the leisurely pace or they're taking their time to make things right. Whatever the case, Mi Rancho explains that their food is made fresh and cooked to order. When they have a lot of customers, serving time may take up to 45 minutes. We waited 1/2hr but were satisfied with the yummy chips and salsa. When food finally arrived... everything tasted awesome. =P Mi Rancho is quite possibly my favorite Mexican restaurant in Yuma thus far. Sonara roll (lightly fried tortilla) with shredded chicken - this roll was so well made. It was springy, light and not greasy. Delicious. Don't think I've had anything like it. I think this was $1.50-$2.00? Carne Asada and Fish Taco - Lots of meat!! Spilled out of the tacos! =) Again, so yummy. =) Each was about $2.25? My coworkers all enjoyed their meal as well. =) Oh! We were headed to another restaurant but noticed all the cars parked outside Mi Rancho. Other place was closed for a holiday and we returned to Mi Rancho. Great food! Has to be some of the best Mexican food we've eaten. Salsa was warm and interesting, chili rellanos were great, flour tortillas were homemade and soft, huevos rancheros were great. love love LOVE this place!! Everytime my family comes into town we HAVE to visit Mi Rancho!! They are on the expensive side for this town, but they're not THAT expensive when compared to our regular haunts in Phoenix. My favorite things at this place are the Al Pastor and Carne Asada plate!! ah-mazing carne asada grilled to perfection along with braised and then grilled pork make my favorite al pastor! The tortillas aren't the greatest, but the salsas more than okay!! The last time we went my cousin got the mucho macho burrito and holy SHIT-BALLS!! This thing is HUGE! Its filled with beef, beans, rice, lettuce & tomatos! and served with french fries?! WTH? but whatever, it was yummyier than yummy! I took a pic and the pic didn't do it justice and then he took his fork and layed it accross the burrito of my nightmares and well... check the pics to see how it compared to the average sized fork! It was crazy, we love coming here. I will DEFINATLY be back! with my whole family in tow! The service needs some training, they're not really the best, but it IS Yuma... so I don't really have high expectations from servers in this town, but it'd be nice if they stepped it up a notch. The sodas are huge which is great because they don't neeed to be refilled as often. The food is amazing, the salsa's even better. i dig the kistchy mexican feel. I don't know whether this place is that much different than the one up the street but that lady who reviewed must have gone on a bad night. I know this spot is where the "locals" go, not the fancy touristy one up the road. As far as the food is concerned, Awesome! I always get the "Carnitas" or shredded pork dish. Simply amazing. So simple, just the seasoned pork, some homemade guac, sour cream, salsa verde, refried beans, rice and tortillas is all that's needed to make a happy stomach. I'm salivating just thinking about it and I just had a huge Columbian lunch! I'll have to try another dish when I'm out there to get some variety and update you peeps so if your ever passing by Yuma on I-8 you can have more to go on. Ok returned for the 2nd time for lunch and ordered off the senior menu(didn't read the fine print that it is the lunch special during the week last time I was there) Only 6.50 per plate makes it a good deal for lunch. Still a little more on the pricey side but it really is good, well prepared food. This time I had the beef enchilada and it was excellent. The meat was moist and flavorful and the red sauce was perfect. Some places have a sauce that is too sweet, this wasn't. Great place to go for lunch, it can get busy so go early. This place is better than any of the Mexican restaurants in Yuma that Yumans generally rave about (you know where I'm talking about: Mr's G's, Chile Pepper, Herraduras, La Fonda, Chretins, etc). If you are passing through Yuma and have 30 minutes to eat, this is a convenient place that isn't too far away from the highway. I can't understand why this place has all these high ratings on Yelp. I had a chichunnos taco, shrimp taco and a burrito that the waitress recommended. All three items tasted terrible. My wife had a chili reyeno burrito and it was OK at best. To make the matter worse, the waitress used her bear hands to get chips for patrons after handling cash. Sure she is friendly and with a great smile but W T F. Do they not even know basic food service 101 protocols? I like authentic Mexican but not the Manazuma's revenge. read more

Came to Yuma to drop of our son at College. So we were looking for a place for dinner and wanted to try some good Mexican food. So after reading the reviews on Yelp, Mi Rancho was the top choice. We were not disappointed. I had the Carne Asda Taco combination plate. My wife had the 3 tacos ( Fish, Lengua, Carne) Combination and my daughter had the Carne Asada Burrito. Traveling east from Los Angeles metro, rather than traveling on the I-10 and stuck in traffic, I always made it a point to go south to San Diego and get on the I-8 so I can not only bypass all the idiots in Phoenix, but I can stop by either the In N Out in El Centro (the best one I ever ate at in all of California) or here at Mi Rancho in Yuma. The food is fresh and I always leave happy. The I-8 isn't a busy road traveling east and even though you have to travel into the city when in Yuma, this detour is well worth the wait. read more

I stumbled into this place on a trip to Yuma. Although the outside looks a little run down, the packed parking lot was a good indication. I ended up eating here twice. The first time I had a taco and enchilada with a side of guacamole. All of the food was very good and filling. On my second visit I had the special that night which was the enchilada style burrito. This was extremely good. The only thing that could have been better was the chips. The service was good and by the second visit I realized that I just needed to go to the register in order to pay rather than wait for the check. I will definitely be going back. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Yuma! It's always crowded which tells me that everyone is in agreement. I'm addicted to their cowboy style shrimp (Shrimp wrapped in bacon). They use HUGE shrimp!! I've also tried their carnitas plate which was good. Probably my favorite thing there are the Micheladas :) I usually get mine with tecate light. I've also seen people order this HUGE margarita. I'm not a fan so I can't review it. But what I can say is that it's huge. And I mean huge. The largest one I've seen. This was not as good as expected. If you are driving thru from Phoenix and heading to San Diego keep going. Food very very salty , order messed up and It was their fault! They put it into a to go box and charged us for their mistake. Tsk tsk, bad business for a $2.00 mistake. Food was ok, but not what all the reviews raved about.
