I love this Mexican Food Cart! I use to live in Palm Springs, CA where there was an abundance of Mexican Food restaurants most very good. Now living in Stevenson I was very happy to find this cart! This is authentic Mexican food at its best. I've had everything on the menu and never been disappointed. Today I had the Carne Asada Burrito and it was huge and very tasty. Tacos Pepe ran a food truck at the recent Hops Fest, in Hood River, Oregon. I purchased a burrito using a credit card. The cashier swiped my card in the Square reader. I stepped aside and waited for my order. As I was waiting, I received my receipt via email, and it included a charge labeled "Impuesto sobre la venta (9.9%)." Translating that to English = "sales tax." There is no sales tax in the state of Oregon. I asked the cashier and her coworker about why they were charging sales tax in Oregon, and they blamed the Square machine and shrugged. I later emailed the owner to dispute the charge, and they claimed it was a credit card processing fee, blamed me for not reading some signage they claimed was there (I waited in line to order for 15 minutes and read all visible signage and did not see it anywhere), and tossed in a few bonus insults. I requested them to make it right and they went silent. On top of this frustrating experience, the burrito was terrible. And the $15 burrito was $19.45 after sales tax and tip. Another reason why tipping before service is received is terrible for the customer. I would give zero stars for the way this company treated me after they had my money. Stay away. read more

We were driving through the town looking for something to eat. We tried a couple of places that were either closed at 10:30am or just didn't seem appetizing. We decided to try this food truck! Oh my word! So glad we did. The staff was super friendly and help with suggestions. We decided to go with a few taco and nachos. We loved the Azada (steak) tacos and the fish and shrimp tacos. The nachos where super good (we had with Azada). The green salsa was very flavorful but not overly hot. We can't wait to come back to this town to eat here again. Best food truck! read more

We ordered chicken and fish taco for my wife and I had the beef torta, they all tasted dried especially the chicken taco, it was fibrous. I asked for mild salsa but what they packed was the hot green sauce and the super hot dark red sauce. Things can be improved with a fresh and milder salsa I think. Enchiladas with chicken were good. Sauce was creamier than I've had elsewhere and it was a welcome new experience. Everything was very fresh, and the Jamaica tea was very good, plenty sweet enough without being too sweet. Could tell it was all made with love. read more

I had the lovely experience of having Tacos Pepe at the Skamania County Fair. I ordered the tacos with chicken and I must say, the verde sauce added quite a delicious addition to the excellent tacos! There was a misunderstanding with my vegetarian friend's order and after a long day at the fair, Rosy and her family graciously made a new meal for him without meat. I loved finding this food cart after my hike. Rosy was very friendly and genuine. My tacos were filled to the brim with meat and marinated onions! So full, in fact, I should have sat down and ate them there instead of trying to eat while driving. I look forward to trying the Tortas next time! After my first Mexican food experience in the Gorge, I was worried. I had been seeing this black food cart on the corner in Stevenson, but wasn't exactly sure when. One cold, rainy Friday we were in town and the cart was there. A short line of a couple of people were waiting. The menu was simple, but classic. We got a quesadilla, a taco and a torta. Rosie was friendly, but clearly focused on her craft. The oven was pretty styling for a food cart. We watched as she packaged our goods to come home. The smell permeated the truck, and our mouths were watering. The beef taco was super generous on beef, and the tortilla was delicious. His torta was gigantic. The meat was well seasoned and he had to break out the fork and knife to consume the monster. My quesadilla was spot on, thick, cheesy and the chicken was so good. The sauces were hot and flavorful. I can handle spice, but beware, some of these are five alarm, at least for me. The food was all delicious and carefully crafted. As I write this, I am anticipating the second round while I wait for my partner to pick up post appointment in town. I expect to use the five alarm salsas to scare off my cold. I have a feeling this is only meal two of many to come. I am going to have to try the tamales sooner rather then later. Would it be wrong to want to put a gps locater connected to my phone on their bad ass cart so I never lose track of Tacos PePe? read more

my wife and i tried PEpe's food cart in Stevenson, WA. It was the worst "Mexican" food ever. The "Quesadilla" (10$) was cheese and beef, something I could make at home (and i can't cook anything), the tacos were small and had tough meat, and the tamales tasted old, even though the lady insisted they were not. I returned the food (no refund given "because the power was out") and we went to Casa de Sabor, which was very good with very reasonable prices. Maybe Pepe's as the restuarant or caterer in Carson, WA, is different, but the food card was definitely a tourist trap (serving of "rice and beans": 8$. should have known better). read more

We stopped at a brick/mortar Tex-mex restaurant down the street and the food there was so bad, we left without finishing and went to Tacos Pepe. OMG... their chicken tacos and enchiladas are AMAZING!! Also their homemade salsa will blow your mind and should be packaged. The family running this food trailer is very nice and really knows how to cook authentic. We will be back every time we come through the area in the future. Definitely worth the stop!! read more
