Visiting family in Mosier in the summer is awesome, except for the lack of dining options. This place solves that problem! Delicious, fresh, well cooked and tasty Mexican food truck fare with the low prices of a true food truck- none of that hipster Portland, boutique, overpriced, gourmet, wannabe-Brooklyn nonsense. The fish tacos are to die for. The beef tacos not so much but it's hard to have super flavorful beef. They have burritos and a lot of fare you would find in a sit down Mexican restaurant, plus a few tables with ample seating outside under the shade. You are missing out if you don't give this place a try!

Second visit. Classic great local place. Fish taco was good but a little small for price.

The big burrito is definitely a good size! I had a chicken burrito which had well seasoned veggies, rice, and whole beans, pinto I think. The outdoor seating is really pleasant and this isn't far off the highway at all, so it's easy to do a quick stop here. I would definitely come here if I had a lot of hungry people in my car but didn't want to drive into Hood River and do the whole sit down restaurant thing. They also have Mexican Coca Cola which is awesome! I got the half liter :) Will definitely be back through here on my way back and plan to give the fish tacos a try. I like that they give you a couple bottles or red and green salsa to season the good to your taste. They also have breakfast burritos, and from what I can tell that makes them the only place in Mosier with breakfast food!

We were seated right away in a booth. The place is huge and can seat tons of people. We ordered up some margaritas and they were delicious. I slammed mine and ordered another one. The salsa had a kick to it. The chips were pretty fresh and tasty too. I got the enchiladas combo place with pork, carne asada and chicken enchiladas. All of the meats were very tender. However they lacked flavor or spices. Especially the chicken as it was not seasoned well and had no taste to it. I can say that the rice and beans were unlike any I have tasted and were pretty dog gone good. The service was top notch too. The next time I am in the Hood River area I will be sure to stop in for a drink and a good meal.

I walked in shortly after my group who had beers, chips and salsa. I asked for beans on my tab and the rest of the group closed out to play lottery games. The waitress never asked if I wanted a drink so I decided to close out. She went over to the manager to discuss the bill which I thought was weird. They ended up putting an open food tab on my bill to add to it. If the beans were regularly $5 I would understand that but they added on to the bill to have me pay more.

I got a meal with Vietnamese (shrimp) and Korean (pulled pork). The Vietnamese taco was suuuper good, flavorful mayo. Had to get past the idea of rice on a taco and then enjoyed myself thoroughly. The pulled pork didn't match the flavors of the Korean taco as well; I think next time I'd get tuna on the Korean taco. The servers were quick and friendly, and the space had fun decorations and efficient, though small, layout.

We ended up coming back the next day without hesitation for 2 days of tacos in a row and I'd return in a heartbeat if ever back in Hood River. These tacos are addictive! With their mix-and-match fusion menu, your taco of choice can really taste any way you like. The Hawaiian taco with grilled shrimp was my favorite, but I also enjoyed their Thai taco with chicken. I wish I could have tried all of them as everything featured good, fresh ingredients. Don't skip the drinks here either. I usually avoid cocktails but they offered to make their frozen margarita spicy for me and I couldn't resist -- fantastic! The service was over-the-top amazing. This is a casual restaurant where you order at the counter, seat yourself with a number, and wait for your food to be delivered. Service at such establishments is usually pretty perfunctory, but not at Love & Hominy. The servers are all super friendly and seem genuinely enthusiastic to be working in their restaurant. That in itself says a lot. As mentioned, this place is casual but still fun and eclectic. While eating your tacos in-house, check out the wall on the entrance side. It's pretty entertaining to look at.

The ambiance is pretty typical for a hole in the wall taqueria. Customer service was great. My food took just long enough to come out to know that it was fresh. For $13, the portion was pretty big. The nachos were topped with carne asada, beans, cheese, cabbage slaw, Pico de Gallo, crema, avocado, and green sauce added by me. The carne asada was some of the best I've found around here so far. Actual little pieces of chopped skirt steak, not ground beef (like some other places). The rest of the toppings were all legit. I loved that the amount of toppings was perfect for each chip to be smothered. I loved the flavor of the cabbage slaw. I'm not normally a big fan of cabbage, and I don't think I've ever had slaw on nachos before, but this was delicious. The crema, Pico de Gallo, and avocado were all perfect. My only issue was that some of the cabbage slaw and avocado kind of tasted like fish, as if someone had plated fish just before putting my nachos together, with the same gloves. Still I thought these nachos were pretty bomb overall and would definitely want to come back to try their tacos and burritos.

I've been here a few times since writing my first review…read more Customer service is always great. The staff always greets me with a smile. This is definitely a great lunch option if you are very, very hungry for Mexican street food and want to get very full for less than $15. The burritos are delicious and taste authentic and fresh, but they're also so overwhelmingly greasy that it detracts from how good they are. If I don't eat the whole burrito at once-- which is hard to do since the burrito is huge-- the tortilla is so soggy with grease that it's not very good after a few hours. I'm not sure if my first burrito was a fluke, but no burrito has been quite the same since. So, I guess it's a little hit or miss, but the portions are always huge. Ironically, I think they may have recognized me from my Yelp review, and tried to give me a better burritos by giving me one with way more meat, rice, and beans. The reason I loved the first burrito so much was because it had such a great amount of other toppings. I love when there's enough Pico de Gallo, guacamole, and sour cream to get some in every bite. I still think this is a great food cart, and the portions are huge, but I may have originally overrated the flavor a little bit. I love the look of this truck and the customer service and the vibes but the burritos are just a little too greasy for me. I would still come back here again in the future to try their tacos and other menu items.
