Service was terrible. We ordered tacos and it took over 40 minutes for our food to come even though it was not very busy. Seems like they forgot about us a few people came after we ordered and left with their foods long before ours was near ready. After waiting for around 25 minutes we went in to check on our tacos. we were blatantly lied to as the cashier said that they were cooking the tortillas and that's why it was taking a while. Stopped on our way back from a long camping trip. We got lucky and parked our RV right in front. We hopped off and ordered our tacos. Everything was fantastic! We loved joining Tacos Pipeye for their grand opening at their new location!! So glad to know they'll still have their Taco Truck at the corner of Milpas and Cota St. up and running late night. Best Taco Tuesday EVER!! For their grand opening everyone was treated to the same great tacos we know and love but for only $1 each!!!! The place was packed but we still got our tacos quickly and LOVED the extended salsa bar. My favs are the chorizo con papas, rajas, and the carnitas. I love how their carnitas have a hint of cinnamon in them. Very unique and tasty!! I can't wait to walk over to the new location ANY time of the day and not have to wait for late night. The house-made tortillas were delicious, soft, but still held their own against how much meat they stuffed in it! Salsa roja is very spicy. Due to COVID, their salsa bar was closed and I didn't know they had guacamole sauce which I know would definitely have elevated the experience. It's refreshing, not overly sweet, hydrating. I've tried to try all of their flavors but the melon and jamaica are too good to not return to. " Price " Competitive pricing. We were passing through Santa Barbara on our way home to Los Angeles and wanted to stop at the more famous taco place up the street. Seeing the long line we turned around and started back to the freeway. Spotting Tacos Pipeye, hunger won out and we stopped here. So happy we did. Wonderful fish tacos served with amazing salsa and a sauce that was called pinon. Excellent! This is the type of place that takes everything up a notch. The tacos here are nothing short of amazing. I believe they're the best in Santa Barbara I've had so far. Pipeye's is a food truck, but don't let that turn you off. You'll find them parked near Milpas and Cota, next to the parking lot of Prestige and Big Brand Tire & Service. They're only open Tuesday through Sunday 7:30-11:30 PM. It's a popular spot for late night meals, but the wait shouldn't be bad. There's also a few tables and chairs set up in the lot. The asada (steak), pastor (pork), and pollo (chicken) are really good. I also recently tried the pescado (fish), which was heavenly. All the meats were flavorful, especially the marinated pork. The workers make the tortillas by hand, which tied all the contents together nicely. Tacos used to be 3 for $5, but are now 6 for $10, or $2 each. Still an exceptional deal. The more premium tacos are 2 for $5, or $3 each. For the price, you're getting a generous portion of meat, especially when the tortillas are on the smaller side. There's also a couple of other menu options. My friends love the quesadilla, which is something I'm planning on trying soon. Of Fish, Barbacoa and Lamb, the Carnitas taco was the clear winner, but they were all great with fresh meat and interesting sauces/salsas on a Sunday night. SUPER BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Me and my family parked right outside the shop (PUBLIC/ STREET PARKING) debating whether to go in now or after going to shop around and then eat after at this taco shop. Apparently the staff at this shop think they own the street parking outside their shop, an employee (seemed like the owner or manager) dares to come outside to ask if we were going to eat there, expressing he only has three parking spaces for customers..I double checked the parking enforcement signs also the curve to check if it was green or something..neither of them. I told him it's public parking, he turns around and tells us that he would call the towing company. They just lost minimum 6 customers since that's the number of people we were going to eat there. I've been hearing that they have really good food, so I had to go and check it out. The food truck parks right in front of Big Brand Tires on Milpas Street in the East Side. They do provide tables and chairs under a tent or you can get your order to go. I order the three tacos for $5; carne asada, chicharron, and papas con chorizo. The crane asada was good, but I would not say it was the best. The chicharron was not what I expected, it has the texture "cueros" (rubbery texture). Usually when I think of chicharron I think of it being deep fried and it was not that way. The chorizo con papas was delicious, I really liked it. All of the tacos were served on a hand made tortilla which is a plus for my taste. I also ordered a gordita with barbacoa and I think so far the best meat at this place is the Barbacoa. They have couple of different salsas. A green salsa made with tomatillos, it was delicious and the right heat. They had another green salsa with I believe avocado and the third one was a red salsa which it was also really good. If you like cactus they have a cactus salad which includes tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and I believe jalapeños (don't quote me on the jalapeños). I ate the cactus salad with the gordita de barbacoa and the red salsa and it was out of this world. Since it was cold, I also ordered a champurrado and it was amazing. This thick warm drink is a chocolate-based atole made with corn masa. I had to order another one before I left (for the road). I would like to try the Chicken and the Pastor meats. And other items on the menu, like tortas and sopes, huaraches, etc. So I'll be coming back. read more

You can tell they take pride in the meats and salsa. When I went in Thursday night, there was a line 10 deep. But don't worry they get through the line fast. I took my food to go, so I opted for a barbacoa burrito. Slow cooked with rich deep flavor. You can tell it was cooked with the bones in the pot. They had a good chile blend that stewed with the meat. A good tortilla and I left with a 20 ounce burrito for 8 bucks.. I felt it was worth the money. Tacos were 3 for $5. I imagine just as good!
