They did a great job with the food truck appearance and the area surrounding the food truck. The food truck, with its purple base, and cool art, is eye-catching. There was outside seating, and although the seating wasn't fancy, it was welcoming. Service was efficient. The food had some good parts, but I didn't connect with it like I do with my favorite spots. I ordered a Carne Enchilada Taco (marinated pork pieces) and a Chicharron Gordita. The pork on the taco was tender, but the marinade was just OK for me. The other aspects of the taco were fine, although there was too much cilantro. A Gordita is made with corn masa, and like an arepa can be, is used to make a small sandwich. Chicharron is fried pork skin. When you see it, it usually is in a long strip with perpendicular slices. It reminds me a bit of a thicker well cooked bacon. The corn masa seemed well executed. I didn't like the flavor combo of the lettuce, cheese crumbles (I assume cotija) and Chicharron. Also, some parts of the Chicharron were very crispy and not enjoyable to chew. These aren't common orders for me. If I returned, I'd probably try different types of tacos like pastor, chorizo or bistec. Given TQ's overall rating, I would still recommend visiting. 3.75 Stars

I usually use Yelp to guide me, or I find the truck with the most people or the longest line. On this particular day, there were a lot of people standing in line at this truck, so I decided to go with this one. I ordered Birria Tacos and one Al Pastor taco. The order took about fifteen minutes. The Al Pastor was delicious. The Al Pastor Taco had a nice balance of smoky, spicy, and sweet, with a savory depth. The only thing I would have added was a little more seasoning to the meat, but it was delicious. The Birria Tacos were packed with flavor and meat. The Birria Tacos were deeply savory, rich, with a crispy, cheesy interior and tender meat. The only complaint would be that they were a little burnt on the outside, and they kept the tacos on too long. The tacos were great, and I look forward to coming to try other items on the menu.

Thus, when I saw that La Carreta offers them, I decided to stop by and try one. The taco bowls that La Carreta serves are generously filled with the meat of your choice, rice, beans, pico de gallo, and guac, and are finished off with drizzles of hot sauce and sour cream and a sprinkling of queso. They're served in a pre-fab fried shell, the bottom of which soaks up their flavors, and the edges of which can be broken off to add some crunchy, carby goodness. While the overall effect is tasty and filling, the ingredients are of the quality that you might expect at a food cart (not exactly premium), hence the imperfect but solid rating. As you also might expect at a food cart, service is quite efficient, down to the payment system (place bills in appropriate cups and take change). It is also across from a park and you can enjoy the view of the water. The food truck park is a of collection of food trucks serving Latin America, Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Cuban foods. I ordered three Tacos from La Chalupa which were Chicken, Chorizo, and Meat tacos. The tacos are two dollars each which you can't beat. The tacos were delicious, flavorful, and the meat was tender.
