I love when a restaurant chooses to keep their authentic flavors. And chalio's restaurants do just that. I've tried the tacos with hand made tortillas and they were 10/10. Soooo good I've also tried the mariscos fajitas. Which included octopus, mussels, shrimp and fish filet on a sizzling skillet with onions and bell peppers. Paired with a side of rice, beans and tortillas (I asked for handmade as well) and I also asked for the taco salsa and it was all so tasty!! 20/10 recommend I can't wait to go back and try more things. The ambiance is casual with a traditional taqueria feel to it and lots of windows to people watch. Service was fast and casual too. We always had everything we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone in Visalia that likes real authentic Mexican mariscos!

The service and food was amazing!! Great flavor and prices. Docking a star for cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, but I would definitely eat here again!

We always drive by this restaurant and see how busy it always is so we finally gave it a try, the food is great. The carne asada, rice and beans are really good. The shrimp cocktails are soo filling and good

Very good, our go to taco place. The alpastor tacos never disappoint! Ambience is nice, always playing music, and the service is good.

We come here and get a Michelada every Friday night. Staff has changed and now their service takes 3x as long even if we are just getting a Michelada. We miss our old over night server. She was fast and efficient

I ordered a California burrito and was sharing it with my husband. After I took a couple of bites of my half, I noticed a black strand of hair inside. I immediately called the restaurant to report it. A lady answered, and I told her in English that there was a hair in my burrito. She responded, "I don't know who took your order, I just got here." I explained that it didn't matter who took the order, I just wanted the burrito remade. She was very rude and refused to give me her name when I asked. This experience was extremely unprofessional and left me feeling disgusted and disappointed with the service.

Absolutely amazing. The tacos were delicious and the aguachile was amazing ceviche never had amazing flavor. Will definitely be back.

This is the second consecutive time it's happened. Ordered a burrito and it is tiny. I weighed it on my food scale and it was 8oz. Not even a pound! Talk about a rip off at $13 for a disappointment! I will definitely never go there again! I'll go somewhere else and at least get my moneys worth! Look at the picture I took it's the length of an Amazon remote and we all know how small those remotes are. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else if you paying $13 bucks!

Come one, come all!! They are open 24hrs 7 days a week!

Had to help get the word out on this new location in Visalia, CA. I had a late night taco craving Friday night, swung by a few spots that were closed and even some taco trucks that weren't at location given. Almost settled for Canes but saw the lights at Chalio's and swung by to check it out. Lucky for me they were open and had everything I could possibly want. First off they are open 24/7! ~YES 24hrs a day, 7 days a week! Please make a mental note of this next time you & your date, the homies or family gets that craving for some late-night tacos! The service and ambience are inviting and spacious with open seating. Highly recommended everyone come check out and welcome this new business in our city. The food is fresh, flavorful and it's no wonder they have several locations now!

So good we had to order another one! We got extra protein on the side, veggies on the side, and pickled onions on the side. Then we had to grab TWO to-go plates because the portions are so big, we could seriously feed four people! And because apparently we hadn't ordered enough food already , we added an asada taco too. At that point, we looked at each other and said, "Well... I guess we got lunch AND dinner for tomorrow!" Great portions, great flavor, great service. Hot City Tacos, y'all did that! The fried rice was so good. My toddler and son devoured their serving plus we had so much extra to take home. Definitely worth your money. My oldest son had the smash burger and he loved it. He said the cheesiness of it along with the freshness of the meat made it a great combo. And the potato wedges were original. The tacos... I cannot say it enough...worth every penny.!! She shrimp taco was on the pricier side as well as the ribeye taco. BUT it was authentic and so much flavor. The ribeye was cooked just right! So tender along with the homemade tortillas, such a skill. The sauces were just the final toping that it needed. The food here tastes so authentic and special. The ambiance was good, there was plenty of seating and they did have a bathroom. Which is such a lifesaver if you go with kids. Our bill did come out to a bit over $100, considering we also got a Jarritos, a Coca Cola bottle and a regular drink. However it was worth it.! Specially when you still have food to take home for dinner. We did get lucky with parking and we were able to get a spot right out front, however if you go on a busy day, it'll be quite the walk. But that's the whole point of eating down town, to enjoy with area and have good food.

We also got a side of chips and salsa and two mini tacos, one with Al pastor and the other with barbacoa. The Asada tasted bad. The rest of the burrito was fine. The green sauce was great, pico and guac were fine. But the meat had this weird old tasting flavor to it. It even had a rancid smell to it after pulling a few pieces out to see what the problem was. I immediately had to stop eating it, the pieces were also fatty, tough and hard like a pebble. The chips also tasted old and stale, like store bought chips left out for a while. The Al Pastor was the highlight of the meal. The meat tasted charred, it was flavorful and well seasoned. I honestly should've grabbed a burrito with that meat instead. Barbacoa was just ok, nothing to write home about. A little more tough than what we've had from Chipotle. Not really seasoned. Overall, disappointed. Los Arbolitos was the spot to go to for a really good asada burrito. Unfortunately this doesn't seem like the case anymore. Was really hoping to find another local spot for our Mexican food cravings but I don't think it's going to be this one after all.

For 1 burrito and 1 taco with tip, came out to around $33. Don't do delivery from here. The Burrito was not very good. The meat was almost like ground beef in texture but also non existent at the same time. I tasted more beans than rice but even then, it was more of a soupy burrito with a tortilla that you had to rip at and hope each bite wouldn't undo the whole burrito. There was some kind of salsa inside it that wasn't apart of the description. It gave it an off flavor. Al Pastor taco was meh. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, which was nice. But the meat was stringy, kind of fatty and an off color almost a light orange. It tasted better than the asada but still wasn't very good. I do appreciate they followed my request for extra salsa, but these packs look like they come from a frozen dinner you get at the store. Absolutely off putting. The flavor was "ok" but nothing special. Overall, not worth it. $33 and I was left with an upset stomach. I had such high hopes! I haven't been in a long time and was hoping it would have been an amazing experience. I was wrong. I gave 3 stars cause I do appreciate them following the special instructions most other restaurants don't. But that still can't justify the food.

Even after circling downtown Visalia for a solid 10 minutes trying to find parking (absolute chaos), this place delivered. Right when you walk in, you notice the ordering kiosk--which, honestly, is necessary given how busy they are. That alone told me I made the right call. While waiting, I saw a cook putting together a big order of quesabirrias, and that sealed it--I added one to my usual single-tortilla carne asada tacos. Let me be clear: they do NOT skimp on the meat. Easily a 10/10 in that department. The flavor is on point, the salsa hits, and portions are legit. If anything, I over-ordered because the tacos are more filling than they look. This place is operating at a level where they either need a bigger location or to start franchising--seriously. Only minor knock: the music was a bit loud for my personal preference. But that's it. Bottom line--well worth the stop. I'd go back without hesitation.
