The negative review below was a joke. The staff was not rude whatsoever as I was leaving when they come in. They were polite to that group and told them they were closed and could not seat them. Being rude and stating rules are two different things. I really think the guy who wrote that review was being a jerk, and worse to post a picture of his entitled children shows that. As far as my food, I was greatly pleased with it and will eat here again. Thankfully I don't have to eat with the type of people who left that review since he claimed he would never eat at Taggarts again. Win for everyone read more

Went for brunch because we'd heard it was great. The ranchero sauce on the Huevos Rancheros tasted like marinara sauce. Might be good on spaghetti, but not with eggs, rice, and beans. Swing and a miss. read more

We have been to this place a handful of times, I have been coming up here for the treats, we have had dinner here a few times but its never been a wow for me. The building is cool and love the decor, some of the staff have been really friendly as well. I know businesses are fighting the government with their regulations, but this place goes to the extreme to "follow guidelines" for a place out of the city and off the main path they sure like to enforce "the rules" if they don't feel you are wearing your mask tight enough on your face before coming in they will let you know. The food was ok. Sat for 25 mins before eyeing down a hostess for water. They did offer us a free appetizer, which was good. No one came to ask how our food was, we had to flag down someone to refill our water. No one brought us a check. This grill was recommended to us from our hotel concierge. We stopped by on Friday about 11:30 am right before it was getting very busy. We choose a table outside as it had areas of shade as it probably was in upper 80's. Our server Leah was right at our table and checking on any drinks and such. We ordered right away: Garlic Hamburger & a BLT on a pita. Drinks came very quickly. Thanks when everything went in slow motion. Two couples & a group of 4 came maybe 20 minutes after us and got their meals first. I was getting impatient so after another 5 minutes I asked Leah where our meals where. She agreed they were very late and went I check. Five minutes later we got our meals and Leah indicated our meals were given to someone else. She apologized and we dug into our lunches. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. It was a bit frustrating however to see people that came in after us leave first. My wife and I are on vacation so I stayed chill ordered their carrot cake to go and paid our tab. Someone should review what happened and quite honestly a manger should have visited us but because my wife wanted my to relax I put up no issue and provided a good 20% tip. We drove out Morgan canyon for the scenery. My friend was in town so decided to have a nice lunch. We have been here before and had loved the food and the ambiance. This time, neither of us was thrilled with our meals. I do not believe anything was hand made. We both had salads we could not eat, they tasted like from a bag and not washed. I had fish n chips, with maybe 10 fries on my plate. She had salad and artichoke dip with tortilla chips. I tasted hers, as she said it was not very good, I was not impressed either. The service was long. They were having printer problems, we were told. I don't know what a printer has to do with hand written orders? The best part was the desserts. We love the place but will return to have coffee and dessert next time. I did feel ill walking to the parking lot, then 40 minutes later I found out why. It was a huge disappointment this visit. I met several high school friends here on a Friday afternoon. We stayed for almost four hours. We probably shouldn't have hogged a table for so long, but only one friend lived nearby so the rest of us drove an hour or so to eat here. I had a young grandson with me, so it helped to have peacocks outside and lots of food and a paper-covered table inside to entertain him (I had crayons in my purse). They had a high chair. Our server Holly was good but distracted by so many other customers. We ordered their yummy artichoke dip appetizer. Some ordered chicken artichoke soup, salmon salad, burgers, etc. I ordered French dip rolled in a pita. Didn't really like it--too cheesy and not much flavor. The dinner salad was just okay. Just happened to be driving from Hunstville back down to SLC via I-84 east and googled places to eat in Morgan, UT because the child was hungry. We stumbled across Taggert's Grill...a hidden gem nestled at the Taggert exit 108! The child devoured her Grilled Cheese and fries and the homemade bread they bring to the table, piping hot! My gf chose Taggert's Salmon, which was cooked to perfection and came with au gratin potatoes, veggies, and a soup or salad. I tried the Prime Rib sandwich , which was juicy and so flavorful! If I could give it a 3.5, I would have preferred that, but I went on the generous side today. Waiters are down to earth. My waiter Chris never smiled, but he was friendly in his own way and very courteous. He recommended the jalapeño burger, the halibut and chips and the chicken enchilada. I ordered the chicken enchilada. The rice was really good, the black beans were really good, the chicken enchilada lacked something to be mentioned. I have enjoyed Taggarts for years but my last experience was so substandard that we left the restaurant without eating. We arrived for lunch on a beautiful Thursday afternoon after the lunch rush and expected our normal Exceptional Service and Food. We were seated in the atrium area and sat for a good 15 minutes before we were approached by a server. Recognizing that lately everyone is hurting for help we took it in stride. We finally ordered and had to ask twice for our drinks then after waiting for well over 40 minutes (no exaggeration) our lunch came. My Bleu cheese burger was so cold the cheese was congealed and the patty was stiff. The fries had been sitting for so long they were rubber. My friend took a spoonful of her soup (taggerts famous chicken and rice) and it was seriously straight from the fridge. We stopped our darling server and told her our woes and she seemed stressed and almost to tears. I felt bad and told her not to worry about another burger just heat my friends soup and I would like a cup of soup in lieu of my burger. She quickly returned with both and I could see that my friends soup had been heated so I was happy and hopeful until I tasted my soup and it was stone cold. At that point enough was enough!! No one came to our table to inquire of our experience and the server stated thst she would only charge us for our drinks. Stunned we agreed to pay for them and purchased the famous carrot cake on the way out. In the past we have always been willing to drive the 50 minutes it takes to get to taggerts but I'm not so sure it will make our dinner list anymore. Let me make it clear that I have eaten at Taggarts many times but this experience sadly has put that to an end. A few friends and I tubed the weber river and decided to go to Taggarts afterwards for dinner. Well, we showed up 30 minutes before closing (which we didn't realize) and obviously we felt bad about so we chose not to eat there for the sake of the employees that probably wanted to go home. But beforehand while walking up to the podium to put our name on the list I heard the host mumbling under his breath about the amount of people in our party which was rude in itself cause I could hear him clearly. Our friend needed to use the restroom very badly as she had held it for a few hours due to being on the river and we politely asked if we could use their restroom as we decided to not eat there because it was so close to the closing time. They responded rudely by saying "No, paying customers only". The facts are: 1- once we found out they were closing soon, we chose not to eat there. (We're not those type of people!) 2- it's completely unnecessary to comment about the amount of customers that you're going to host with your co workers as the customer can clearly hear you 3- And this one is for the host. Look dude, don't be a dick especially to a woman. Get over yourself! You could of easily let her go to the bathroom and it wouldn't of been a big deal! 4- because of this, we won't be coming back. That is unfortunate considering it was a party of 6 and an average meal here costs between $$ 12-18 which means that the restaurant lost the opportunity of making between $72-108 every time we ate there! Not to mention the tip. 5- as stated at the beginning, this is not the first time I've eaten at Taggarts. In fact, I've eaten there a dozen or more times and we drive nearly and hour for it but because of this experience I will not recommend taggarts to any family or friends like I had in the past. 6- I understand we came close to closing time, we didn't know! Great food. Horrible service. Our server disappeared after taking our order and we never saw her again. Our food came quickly and was delivered by a different server. Like I said, the food was fabulous. We then had to ask a different server for our check. It took 10 minutes for them to find her and another 10 minutes to get our card back. We waited at the front desk to buy some pastries as we left and then gave up as the servers coming and going ignored us. Even though the food is good, I don't think I'll go back. I posted a photo of the old rhetro cookie (the one that isn't cut) and the one we got this last Sunday. It didn't even seem like the same cookie. It used to have bits of toffee and caramel with the chocolate chips, but it seemed to be missing that same consistency and chew from the caramel and the crunch from the toffee. What happened!?
