The first was SUP (stand up paddle board)…read moreyoga on Lake Tahoe, which was a fun experience and what I would describe as an intro to paddle boarding combined with a mini-gentle yoga practice once you are out on the water. If you are looking for a great workout, do not choose this activity. If you are looking for some time in the lake, a chance to get acquainted with balancing on a paddle board and gently waking up with some yoga poses, this is exactly what you want. The next one we tried was the 75 minute heated vinyasa class at the Truckee Location. The studio is great, well heated, and everything was clean. This class wasn't really what I would describe as vinyasa, though. It was more of a super fast moving bikram-type sequence, combined with sculpting. If you want to get a good workout, enjoy Bikram, and sweat a lot, this is for you. If you want to feel a flow and the gradual build from one pose to another, this is probably not your class.

Ann Marie has been my OG yoga teacher since I moved to Tahoe years ago. You can now take her classes in studio for online, and get this, the sound and video quality is fantastic. I've been on many zoom classes with major tech issues. You can clearly hear and see her without a lavaliere mic. Her classes have a very meditate state, but challenging for those for more advanced practitioners, modified poses for beginners. All level for almost all classes. There's several other classes including prenatal, meditation, muscle rolling, etc. Btw, if you haven't gotten a massage from Ann Marie, you are missing out. One of the best I have ever had. Go for the 90 minutes. If you can't reach her, she can recommend many other great therapists. There's also provides filtered water for clients/yogis. Definitely go here for yoga and massage therapy. I find those teachers have the best body awareness.

They communicate the fine points of poses, while keeping things lively and meditative at the same time. In particular, I greatly enjoy the Sunday morning sessions of Deanna's - a great way to find balance and strength to last a whole week. Deanna is always welcoming, and well accommodates neophytes and expert students alike, wherever their practice may be. And, Stephanie's enthusiasm and good nature are boundless. Somehow, she always works in individualized attention even in a crowded class. I always learn something new about myself in every class.

The teachers are all great and I like that there's a solid diversity in style and intensity of classes. The studio space itself is really large so there's always a spot for you even in the bigger classes. There's also the most class offerings each day here, so its a lot easier to make it work with my schedule, and to feel like you have options for what teacher or style you want to practice each day. The only potential downsides is that all the classes are in a heated room, ranging anywhere from 85-100 degrees depending on the class/teacher (you do get a frozen face towel at the end of class which feels heavenly). I'm not a fan of heat but I just deal with it because otherwise I do love the studio, and know some people would consider a hot studio to be a perk. The other is that there are tons of mirrors all the classes face, and it distracts me if I can see myself (definitely an adjustment coming from a mirror-less studio), but there are a few spots where you can kind of hide out if you aren't into that. Overall the positives are enormous and the downsides are based on my personal preferences. I have been looking for a studio like this for a long time, and would absolutely recommend practicing there! The membership price is hands down the best deal in my opinion, considering all the classes it includes. I once had a class with only me and one other student, and really appreciated that they didn't cancel it just because it was a small class with the 2 of us. Those kinds of things have made me feel that they consistently go the extra mile and are a fantastic & reliable studio.
