Asked for a glass of wine, tasted like it was sitting in the bottle for days. Asked for a new glass from a fresh bottle. Waitress argued with me it was a new bottle, brought the glass to a different table when I said it looked a different color. Finally agreed to supposedly give me a new glass, it was the same glass of wine. The waitress made it uncomfortable, repeatedly bringing up the wine, how good it is and that I just didn't like it. I am not one to complain because of the anxiety it causes and for this exact reason. They didn't charge me for the wine, but she continued to bring it up even as I was walking out the door. Visit Date: February 22, 2020 I took my friends here with my son for my one friend's birthday. She loves sushi and hibachi but since I end up treating and I was definitely treating because it was her birthday I kind of cringed because even though hibachi is generally a good meal and somewhat entertaining it's always very pricey for 4 people. They were quick to give us service when we walked in, we sat down placed drink orders than placed food orders and our hibachi chef was at our station in a pretty decent amount of time. He was entertaining and friendly to us and the food was also good. I have to be gluten free so they cooked my meal in the back and I wasn't disappointed with how it turned out. After the chef was done cooking the hibachi I had to choke down my meal and leave my debit card with my friends to take my inpatient 3 year old out to the car. Overall cost of the meal was $150.45 I think including a $5 tip for the hibachi chef. We also didn't have any alcohol so this bill was just with sodas and water. Even though I enjoyed it because of the expense I'm hoping to not do hibachi for a long time. read more

My 5 year old daughter loves Tai Show hibachi. Tai Show Hibachi is clean, family friendly, fun, good food and entertaining. I always get the filet and shrimp with a 16oz Sapporo. If I could give 0 stars I would. Inedible hibachi -Party of 3, we all spit out our filet mignon and chicken. It was THAT bad. The only edible part of the meal was the salad. the rice and veggies had weird flavor and aftertaste. How do you mess up fried rice? The pork dumplings and spring role apps also inedible. Even the sauces were eh. We had a to go order which we cancelled due to our experience and they tried to charge us full price for 4 meals with a $20 discount. There was no entertainment or interaction from the chef. After complaining again, we received $22 off of our meal so $95 for iceberg lettuce with ginger dressing and soda, most expensive lettuce I've ever had. The discount given was insulting. We're here all of the time. So this should count as 10 different 5 star reviews. My nephews love this place. This is the only restaurant where they eat all of the food on their plate. Yes. It's a typical hibachi place. I find some of the reviews posted here to be just plain snobby! It's a hibachi place in Massapequa. For years this was the classiest thing in the 11758. The hostesses are nice. They are crazed trying to get each show going at the same time. The food is good. The chefs are good hearted. Parking in the front is uncomfortable. Placed on online order through Door Dash for 3 different hibachi entrees. When the order was delivered it was all wrong. Our order was put in as two same hibachi entrees. We called the restaurant and were told the credit can be placed through Door Dash. Door dash was happy to credit us for the wrong order. About 30 minutes later our doorbell rang and it was a delivery from Tai Show. We said we didn't order more, but the delivery man said the restaurant wanted to make up for their inconvenience. They replaced all the wrong items for no charge! Very appreciative for them going out of their way to provide us what we ordered. We are very understanding with restaurants with the current times and for them to go out of their way for us was a great surprise. Food was delicious and such generous portions. I've been here a few times with friends and it's proven to be a pretty solid hibachi choice. Definitely make a reservation as the space is on the smaller side and tends to get easily busy (or at least the times that I have been there). Interesting tidbit about this place: The soup they serve at the beginning is their take on a chicken noodle soup. It's like a cross between chicken noodle & a hibachi onion & mushroom soup. I loved it, but vegetarians fear not! They still have a miso soup option to suit your needs Most recently I ordered the filet mignon option. The chef was a little eccentric... I was the brave soul that did the sake shot out of the squirt bottle and he didn't know when to stop so I wound up with sake all over my shirt. This place is super easy to spot because it's right on Merrick road. This place was added a couple years after the sushi place next door but they are both the same owners. The parking lot is good but could use some more spots because it gets busy. They usually send the sushi place customers over if it gets too busy. They have a couple of tables for the hibachi and they always remember their customers and are always very friendly. The food is good and so is the show. They do the usual volcano with the onions and the fireman that puts it out. If your skilled you can even catch some eggs in your mouth or some sake if your old enough too. He made a separate plate for the baby and cut everything into tiny tiny pieces for her, it was very kind and appreciated. The first time in a while my husband and I could eat a hot meal all together! Great experience love the owner As for Covid-19 procedures -there were 10 people waiting in the tiny little walkway lobby we couldn't get out after finishing eating, it was very uncomfortable. Their hibachi on the other hand, I've avoided coming here since its in complex and looked small. The appearance isn't anything fancy. They did the typical volcano, they threw egg instead of zucchini, nothing special no tricks or jokes. The soup was bland, the salad was good, I enjoyed the creamy dressing and it had nice flavor. The fried rice was good, the veggies were okay, they burnt my shrimp but not my friends. The chicken was overcooked kinda rubber texture. I put the brown dipping sauce on everything for moisture n flavor, mixed everything together, it was ok .. edible. I had such an amazing visit here! My party of 3 was immediately seated when we came in the door at 7PM. We all got the dinner specials (priced at $19-$21 each), which included house special clear soup and a house salad with ginger. The only reason this place did not get 5 stars from me is because the soup was very "eh" and the salad was actually pretty bad. BUT. THE HIBACHI ROCKED! The chef put on an amazing show, flinging things into our mouths and shooting free sake shots into our mouths as well. It was very interactive and funny. My boyfriend and I got the shell steak hibachi with pan fried noodles and his mom got the chicken hibachi with fried brown rice. The portions were great. Taste was great. I had lunch at Tai Show yesterday. Personally I am not a fan of hibachi because I never actually had any pleasant experience with their food. Most hibachi places are way too Americanized on their food, Tai Show somehow impressed me. I had sword fish combo, the sword fish was one of the best I ever had! It was fresh, tender, and most important very juicy! It had a very nice fish aroma (not the bad one that you smell at seafood makers). My only suggestion for the place and this is why I gave it a 4 not a 5, I understand that lunch hour is not as busy as dinner time but having someone cleaning right next to you while you eat is not that appropriate. Anyways, besides that this place is worthwhile to give it a try. read more

Our first round of drinks took forever to arrive and I had to hunt down someone to get another. After finishing dinner I had to work hard to get the check and even longer to pay. After the show , We noticed that there were people waiting to use our table . We were having fun still but didn't want to hold people up. I'm still cutting my hibachi teeth, so please bear with me... We waited, and waited, and waited.... I called a few other places in Nassau but they were all on a wait too, so we stuck around.... When we finally sat, the service was snappy. Drinks, apps, soup, salad yada yada yada. It took a while for a hibachi chef to get over to our table. Oh, I almost forgot; I ordered sushi off of the menu as an appetizer (which apparently comes from tai show sushi next door) and it took FOREVER to get out to me. I mean, one spicy tuna roll showed up as we were finishing our hibachi entrees. That was pretty weak. On to the important stuff- The joint was fun, i would go back for the experience. This place is a blast! I went with a group of 10 and luckily everyone was 21 or older because the hibachi chef squirted saki into our mouths. Make a reservation if you're planning on going here because there aren't many hibachis (about 4) so the wait is a long one without the reservation. They do have some tables that don't have a hibachi grill but that takes the fun out of it. The hibachi chef asks what you would like to eat and you tell him. While making pork fried rice he makes you catch the little pieces of scrambled eggs that he's made in your mouth. It's pretty funny if he misses because then you just end up with egg on your face or on your clothes. The parking lot is really tiny but there's plenty of parking on a side street. read more

We were just here the other night. For one, it was ridiculously loud. But I probably shouldn't expect much for a small hibachi place, with 4 hibachi tables, and smaller tables in the middle. It was fully occupied when we arrived. I ordered the hibachi short ribs, while he ordered the hibachi swordfish. We watched as the guy used the same sauce for the fried rice, shrimp, and main entree. We watched as he placed all the proteins for everyone on the grill. His swordfish was about a half inch thick. And it was extremely disrupting to watch as the fish, sitting right in front of us, not only was on the heat for 5x too long, but was the last one to be completed, after the chicken, shrimp, short ribs, and steak, when the fish definitely should have been the first. The fish was so close to us, we were tempted to take it off the grill ourselves. The swordfish was so overdry and tough to eat. My short ribs were eh. They were nice and tender, however he put on too much soy sauce, so it was so salty, I could barely eat it. The fried rice was okay, but he used a lot of oil to scramble eggs. And the shrimp was a bit overcooked. We're definitely going to find another place to get hibachi. read more

I've been to plenty of hibachi places but Tai Show may be my favorite. The service is always friendly and attentive to your needs. The staff continuously refills drinks and checks on all their tables. The food is excellent. Some other hibachi places use low quality ingredients but Tai Show does not. You will not find fatty cuts of chicken or beef here. All of the food is always cooked well, and seasoned just right, and portions are more than adequate. The chefs perform the typical hibachi fare including the volcano onion and egg catching. Some chefs are more enthusiastic than others but as a group they are all good. Prices are reasonable for what is offered and they have some combination deals as well. Don't hesitate to try Tai Show Hibachi. read more

I don't know. We were in kind of crappy moods before we got here, so this review may not be completely fair. We got to Tai Show Sushi at around 3:30 today, and one of the servers got up from eating at a table filled with other employees and politely informed us "Sorry, we are currently on our lunch break, but you can go next door, they do EVERYTHING there. They do sushi, hibachi." We were a bit annoyed but had to laugh because it just added to already annoying day. We went next door, to see that all employees were sitting at a table eating lunch. It took them a couple of minutes for someone to take the initiative to come serve us. We felt kind of unwelcome. The waitress quickly took our order which was very small since it was a very late lunch. I got miso soup and a Louie Roll, my fiance got a house salad and gyoza appetizer. All of the food was pretty delicious, I can't lie there. Everything was fresh and really tasty. While we were eating, a few employees were playing Angry Birds with the sound on. No one came to check on us while we were eating, or to refill our water. All in all, food was good. Service and experience was sub par. We do plan on returning later on at night in the future for their hibachi since the food was really good. I'll re-review this in a few weeks, I'm sure ;) read more

Servicing the immediate area with hibachi, tai show is a pretty solid place. It is hit or miss however. One day the steak and chicken was excellent, and a few months later I found both to be fatty and really unappetizing. If you are a die hard fan, go to Gashi or even Benihanas. However, if you are in the area and the craving for hibachi hits, this will do. 3 stars for good prices and good services, not 4 because if the inconsistency of it's ingredients. read more
