We love going to Kashi. The portions are excellent, the service is excellent, the ambiance is quiet and the food is amazing, esp the sushi. It has quickly become one of our favorite places. You must make a reservation always, just be aware, and evening parking is a challenge, but they have a valet. There are other delicious choices besides sushi on the menu, so it's great for those who don't want sushi. Drinks are extremely good. Came by for Friday lunch without a reservation and was seated right away, which was a nice surprise. Even though it's technically a chain, the restaurant doesn't feel like one--there's clearly attention to detail in both the space and the food. Most of what we ordered was genuinely delicious. That said, I have to call out one miss: the Organic Chicken Tempura. I wouldn't recommend it. I actually tried to send it back, but the staff made it a bit difficult, so I just kept it and ate what I could. It ended up being a plate of bland, breaded chicken strips with almost no seasoning, served with a strange mix of deep-fried veggies--including broccoli, a thick slice of potato, and even cucumber. We like to do pick up because it's easy to drive into the parking lot and grab the food. Just know you're gonna be waiting at least 20 to 30 minutes more likely 30 minutes for your food to be ready. It taste amazing and clearly there's a lot of preparation part of it. We've tried so many different things on the menu and everything is absolutely fantastic. Kashi has a lot of style, especially given its strip mall location, so if you're looking for a sushi bar with a lot of ambiance, perhaps for a special occasion or even a date (but go on the side as it gets packed with families and large groups). Besides a more sophisticated ambiance than your typical sushi place, we experienced excellent service from our waiter. I also noticed that he handled the large table of teens next to us with aplomb. The menu is not very vegetarian/vegan friendly. You are limited to edamame and several rolls, but that's about it. There's not a single hot entree. I ordered a peanut avocado roll and an AAC. I found them to be sloppily made. By this I mean foreign substance on the rice (roe? salmon? something pink) and most disappointing of all, no damn sesame seeds. While service and ambiance both go a long way, I'm not sure I'd return due to the lack of veg options (and sushi that was a little disappointing). If you come with friends who are vegatarian, it's an easy menu to order from The drinks were phenomenal as well, a tad on the sweeter side but that's what I prefer. Great place for parties, as they had large tables and there were several birthday parties going on with shots and singing going on. I think what soured my experience was the wait; our fault because we walked in on a Friday night with no reservation. They told us 30 minutes, which we were okay with, but we let them know that if it was any longer, we could go somewhere else since we were starving. When we checked in with them at the 40-minute mark, they said they were cleaning the table. It wasn't until over an hour later that we were sat down. The service was kind of fine, maybe our server was new, but they were a bit clumsy and spilled the drink (which was fine, because that drink was filllled ). Me and my friends were here 1-30-26, and when we went to order and the bill was 210 dollars (there was 5 of us) the waitress named candy said "can you afford this" and then said "this is without tip", this was rude first of all, i didnt like my food so politely i said this is kind of dry. there was nothing she did to help, and was asking one of my friends to tip more(her bill was 54.31 and she handed her 60) and she would not leave until she gave 5 more dollars. I had the salmon teriyaki, good portion, lots of sauce the way I like it and a good portion of veggies and brown rice for a happy belly. My fella made me laugh because he's come out with me to a few Asian Fusion places and one constant is that the wall decor, whether in wood or metal is all done to represent waves. He was right! Behind the bar, the sushi bar and foyer... all good though, the luxurious interior matched the quality of food and service. Would have been 5 stars if not for the antics of the front desk girls on my most recent order. Have done takeout here many times and also ordered party platters - food has been consistently great and always ready on arrival...until this past weekend Showed up to pick up a pretty hefty catering order I called for a week ago and was met with a hostess who looked at me like a deer in headlights. One of her coworkers eventually finds it written down on an index card taped to the wall. No apology, no owning up to the mistake, just started entering the order as if it had never been given before, takes my money and then decides to inform me it would be ready in 20 minutes. I inquired why this was happening and she tells me oh well you didn't pay over the phone...umm, nobody asked me to and they never have before - also I called and placed the order a week ago so it's not like they got surprised by this. Again, blank stare & no answer, suddenly speaking to the other girl behind the desk in their own language and giggling, not exactly sure what was so comical about all of this. Again I asked what was going on and got no answers, just that they're working on it. Since I'd already paid I had no choice and waited out the 20 minutes for them to get the order together making me late for the party I was bringing it to. Again the food was good but this whole situation just left a bad taste in my mouth. No sense of urgency, no apology, just giggles and side chatter intentionally in a language I couldn't understand. To each their own, but if you don't like strong drinks, you need to tell the server to pour a little lighter. As we left after 8:00 the place was mobbed, not even a place for ppl waiting for tables to comfortably stand.
