I recently went here to get my pants tailored. once I got home to try them on, I noticed they were still too long. When I went back to the store on this issue, they were very defensive and accused me of being a liar. In addition, they said that they could re-alter my pants, but would charge me again for this, which is absolutely outrageous. Instead of admitting a minor mistake, they instead became defensive and started accusing the customer of this, which is absolutely ridiculous. While browsing through my favorite place to shop, ebay, I noted a new silk with tags sporty cocktail type party jacket for $100 which was the same as I had just seen in a store on Las Olas for $850. So, it was a deal I couldn't pass up. The only problem was that the sleeves were too long, which was what brought me to Tailor Shop by Torrez and I couldn't have ended up more pleased. When I entered the store I was given a pleasant greeting, asked to put on the jacket and was quickly and correctly measure. I had to pay the charge in advance but it was exceptionally modest. I had thought I would have to pay a lot more and was given a ticket to pick it up in about two weeks as it was prom time which is one of the busiest times of year for tailor shops. When the pickup time arrived, I stopped by the store, was immediately recognized and handed my now altered jacket to try on. It was perfect and all 8 sleeve buttons that had to be were done with perfect stitching. As I'm getting older and along with that fatter (that happens to most people), I know I'm going be in need of further tailoring work. So, it's nice to know of a shop like the Tailor Shop by Torrez. read more

This was the worst experience in my life I was told to come here that they were great.... The worst I brought a new gown to make sleeves for my sons wedding she charged me $200 dollars plus tax but I pay I just wanted to get it done perfect first time trying need it some fixing I came back to pick she tells me no need to try is fix I said no I would like to try it the sleeves were different lengths and it was my fault because my arms are different lengths WHATTTT I am over 50 and never had this be told to me..... I recently dropped off some items, agreed on the service with the individual who would perform the work, paid in full, and was called an hour later by the owner who rudely told me that I would have to pay MORE THAN 2x the price to complete the work, which I obviously refused. If you value a professionally-run business that is operated by an owner with integrity who will honor prices for agreed upon work, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. I paid over $100 to have 3 work shirts altered. When I returned to have my sleeve buttons moved over just a few inches she advised me I had to pay $6 ($2 a button). The reason I had to pay was because I didn't specified how much it needed to be moved. She never said I had to give her exact measurements. So I went back and got them back after driving off and thinking about it for a few minutes. When I went back in I told her I feel like I paid over $100+ and I'm being penalized and will take business elsewhere. Only then did she say he wouldn't charge me for mistake they made and didn't want to loose a customer. It was too late by that point. Ingrid has been altering my clothing for several years and I have to say she always gets it done right. She can take an off the rack garment and make it feel like custom. Slacks, shirts, and suit jackets, she can work her magic on all of them. She even tailored a cashmere sweater after every tailor in the city said they wouldn't touch it. Don't take my word for it, just take a look at how busy she is. But I have to say, despite her workload she always meets every deadline. read more

I'm happy to say that the team at Tailor Shop (led by Ingrid) is phenomenal and I have never been disappointed. Their attention to detail, ability to manage complex work (e.g. hand stitching appliqué work, expensive formal wear beading, etc), has amazed and delighted me. Ingrid is very personable and professional; she keeps her promised delivery dates and gives great, practical guidance around fit/comfort. Her custom tailored clothing surprised me; I've paid far more for work of this calibre and she turned it around quickly.
