Very nice RV park within walking distance of Lake Michigan with large spreading oak trees asphalt pads for parking.They have a couple of goats for kids to feed and pet kind of like a small petting zoo. Cleanest RV Park ever!! Staff were super sweet. The dog park was awesome! If I was a kid I might be bored there. Though there was a diverse group of kids there playing and appeared to be having a great time!! We will definitely be back!! There is a new restaurant very close called Caribbean Sunrise. Stayed in Oak Grove Resort for our second consecutive year for Tulip Festival. We had an RV spot, and friends stayed in cabins nearby. Really enjoyed the goats, and they have a nice playground and dog play area. My kids (who are mixed-race) were playing on the playground, and a group of kids from at least three different unrelated families told them to "go back to China" and stuck up their ring fingers at my children and told them "that's the Chinese middle finger." This was completely unprovoked, and ruined our weekend and Mother's Day. We will not be returning to Oak Grove Resort again. Some of the signs and flags around the campground indicate that this type of behavior is condoned and/or supported by the owners. read more

Oak Grove Resort is a bourgeois little camping compound that acts as though we are lucky to have been allowed to stay there. The facilities are clean and quiet, which we really like. We liked the pool and hot tub. The camping spaces are very tight. Big rigs beware. Unfortunately we had a few issues that made the resort a bit un-resort like: Christian music blaring 24/7 in the restroom No community campfire after 10:30pm. The TV on the deck next to the pool airs Chive TV and the channel can NEVER be changed. It is "against the rules". Not very friendly, considering everyone there wanted to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs. (Btw, if they only knew what can be seen on thechive.com!) The store has limited hours and does not carry any food. There is a Gadsen flag in the window of a building that can be seen from the pool. Christian Nationalism, anyone? The campground host steals unused firewood from vacated campsites. Everyone knows campground etiquette, don't they? I guess not. read more

We love Oak Grove, their premium sites are awesome and although it's a smaller park, it has everything you need! Nice pool and hot tub! When a campground has a hot tub, that's always a plus! Beautiful views of lake Macatawa and just a short walk or bike ride to Holland state park beach!! You can't beat the location from Lake Michigan! But if you don't won't to walk the half mile to the state park, there is public lake access to Lake Macatawa almost right across the street! The owners and all the staff are very friendly as well. The only negative thing, I would have to say about Oak Grove, is that your not allowed to have a campfire at your site, you are only allowed to have them in a few shared designated areas in the park. I'm not sure why this is exactly , but I'm glad there is a spot where we can have one, but We'd prefer to have one right on our site. read more

Really crammed in tight. We have a 40' fifth wheel and we could barely make it through the short term campground. Had decent width sight but hard getting onto when the campground is full. Truck has to parked on the grass. We checked in at 1:16 PM and no one was in the office. We were only 2 hours from here and had to leave that sight at 11:00 AM . Host saw us, gave us a packet and we parked. We had already pre-paid $70.00 night to be packed in and on a very noisy road. We received a message after 3 nights, to come by the office. My husband went by first thing this morning. We owed a dog fee!!!' We have 2 toy poodles and had no idea. Traveled to ever single state in the lower 48 and first time we had to pay $3.00/night per dog. Place is full of kids running in and out of our sight. We definitely won't be back. read more

Do not stay on site 22. The site is not even close to being level. We couldn't empty our tanks since our trailer was almost a full foot lower than the sewer connection. I have never stayed at a "resort" where you pay extra for a full hook up that you can not use. Also as others have said, kids riding electric scooters everywhere, very tight navigation through out the park. It just was not worth it. BTW, this place states that there is no "pleasure riding of motorbikes, electric scooters or mopeds." Employees and management just seem to not want to enforce the rules they made up. Other sites seemed better but I will be staying at the state park on an / all future trips. read more

Fat man in a little coat. Oak Grove is trying to shove way too many campers into tight little spaces and it makes for an uncomfortable stay. The location along Ottawa Street is great- within biking distance to the beach, a wooded hike with views at the state park, and the local general store. Bathrooms were consistently clean but there aren't enough of them. The deck area has fun games like giant Connect Four and classic Atari game tables, so that was nice. We were given a spot in the back corner among the seasonal/permanent trailers. The sites upfront and just off the road are the only decent sites for "camping". The other half (among the seasonals) should not be offered to overnight campers. My review might have been different if we had different site but I won't return to find out. read more

Super clean and well maintained campground! The staff is very positive and friendly. Definitely bring your bikes (or rent here) as there is a bike path that you can take all the way to the beach. This is a smaller campground where a portion are seasonal guests. This contributes to a family atmosphere where people really care for the facility and aren't there "just to party". Pets are allowed for a small fee and their newer dog run is nice. We will be back! read more

We feel like we booked under false pretences. The person who took the reservation confirmed she would do her best to get us a site near the bathroom as requested and then mentioned it would also be near the pool but didn't bother to mention that the pool would be closed. Our booking was for Sept 11-13 so the weather was still more than warm enough for swimming. I understand that some places close their pools after Labour Day but they announce that to visitors and on their website. When we asked for a specific site we were told that our tiny 20' camper wouldn't fit(!). Given that when we arrived we discovered the spot was already rented to a clearly seasonal/permanently parked trailer I don't understand the obfuscation. Why not just say it is occupied? The booking clerk also failed to mention that the office is on reduced hours and there would be no one available to answer questions when we arrived. Had I known that, we would have simply sent several questions by eMail prior to our arrival. When we brought up our concerns about the pool and the office hours the second day, when the office was finally open, the person we spoke to didn't seem to care. She seemed to not understand that either of these things might be an issue. I even specifically said I was disappointed, there could have been no misunderstanding. She just agreed that yes there were reduced office hours after labour day and the pool had been drained, no apology, no concern. At first blush, the campground is clean and neat. If you look a little closer though it becomes clear that the maintenance isn't all it should be. It was clear that the fence behind our lot had been hit by a previous visitor a long time ago and was just left in the bushes in pieces rather than repaired or replaced. The porch around the washroom/shower building is an accident waiting to happen as the braces are twice as far apart as they should be. You can feel the boards bend when you walk on them. The sink in the washroom is about to fall off the wall and don't even look at the caulking, it dried up, cracked, and separated ages ago. Ick. Over all had we been advised of the pool and the office issues this would be a 3-star rating. But the apparent lack of interest in our experience at the "resort" was very disappointing. Oh and if you have a long trailer, good luck. The tight access for parking on most of the spots would make a professional trucker weep. read more

This was our first camping trip to Michigan and some friends stay at this campground and really enjoy and recommend it. So we took them up on their recommendation. We were very pleasantly surprised. Even though it's close to the main road, you don't hear the traffic. They have beautiful well kept grounds and they are very much on top of cleaning off the spots when campers leave. Their amenities include a private gated entrance, a well Maintained swimming pool and hot tub. They have restrooms, showers and laundry facilities all in he main building which are also well kept. I struggled to find anything creepy or wrong with those facilities. The original cost had me concerned but after watching what they do for their campers it was well worth it. Their location is walking distance or biking distance to both Ottawa Beach and Lake MI beach. There are great ice cream places around that cater to your family, including your dogs. They even had cable and internet so having a husband addicted to ESPN, this made him an even "happier camper". Thank you Oak Grove for the positive, clean and relaxing environment. Supposed to be good for large RV's well if you have over 45 feet counting toad forget about it. Had to park tow vehicle 200 feet away. Very tight to get in. Day after labor day and office only open 9 to 11 am. Had to register like late arrival. $50 for full hook ups and $3 a dog. or kid. Not worth it. Nice looking park but way too many rules. Felt like I just entered a Nazi camp. NO ALCOHOL what the heck all RVers I know have cocktails. Stayed one night and got out. WIFI okay but had to phone for access code as nobody around. read more

We just got home from a week at the campground, and loved it! There's tons of nice families with lots of things for the kids to do, and a safe bike path to the beach like 1 mile away. There's bike rentals, goats to feed, a ga ga ball pit (I live out in CA but I got taught the rules and always lost), and an awesome pool!! 9-10 is adults only at the pool. This is genius because it get the kids out at a decent hour during the long summers and of course by the time they are dried and showered they don't go back out. It was super clean and super nice. Great family campground! Well run and very clean. We have stayed here for the past two years and love it! There's a great mix of family's with kids and older couples who are just there to relax. The campground is an easy bike ride from the beach, but their pool is spectacular so you may never want to leave! The bathroom facilities are top notch and we always feel very safe. We would not stay there again. Seems like they cater to old people trailer homes and not RVers. The people next door decided on mothers day to do a construction project. Six or more vehicles, ten or more people, sawing, hammering drilling etc. It was not a pleasant experience. The office was closed so what good was that? For the neighbors this was a social project and work. For the others it was a get away from reg life. They should not be allowed to do this during a holiday weekend. But then again what does mothers mean to some? read more

Nice clean campground. It's hard to get large campers in the premium sites, the sites are short. They are big on rules, the place is very secure. The pool passes are a bit too much, they made my son leave the pool at 9pm, but adults can stay till ten. Nice, peaceful campground. Wide spots on one side of park, but still tight to access. No individual fire rings at your site, but that was a plus for us. There are extra charges for more people in your party and for dogs. read more
