I'm heartbroken to write this but want to warn people. my puppy seemed to love going to day care, I would log in and watch the cameras once in awhile and wasn't very impressed as the "small" side was basically just an open room with a few beds. it seemed like there were a lot of big dogs on the small side but when I dropped her off the staff was always very sweet and excited to see her, so I dismissed my negative thought. one day I logged on and immediately I noticed there were a lot of dogs and a lot of them being big dogs, there were at least 25 dogs in the small side and at least 10 were big. the "pack leader" was paying no attention to the dogs and my 15 pound puppy was being pinned over and over by a full size German shepherd in the corner, another dog actually came over and stopped the German shepherd I don't know if it was playing and completely harmless but my puppy was clearly terrified and when the person opened the door to walk out my dog took the opportunity to run through the open door. I was debating what to do when I watched the person come back into the room dragging my puppy by the collar, my puppy feet were barely touching the ground and was clearly scared and the employee was clearly mad. I immediately called and spoke to the manager and simultaneously asked my husband to go get her. The manager told me she would review the footage and speak to the employee I have called twice for an update and have not gotten anywhere. if the manager reviewed the footage and felt there was nothing wrong this is extremely dangerous! my puppy immediately showed fear of a neighbor she has always known and is now terrified of big dogs. My 1 yr old mostly Shelty rescue dog is addicted to Tailwaggers. We buy 10 half day visits at a time. He buggs me most days at 11 AM b/c we take him there on Tues and Fri and p/u before 4. His personality is still "active puppy" so he can run free and be with a big pack every visit. The benefit is that it tires him out a little and he's more like a more passive adult dog that day and the next. My wife and I love Tailwaggers! The people there all know and love "Reagan" and eagerly greet him when we arrive (now they check him in when they see my truck pull up.) Everyone is so friendly and he is easy to spot on internet video camera because of his mostly white curly tail. We think he is mostly checking out the girls and showing them his neutering tattoo. Actually 0 stars! I took my small Shihchon into this establishment for grooming services. At the time I checked her in, I mentioned to the groomer that she had "a bit of matting around on her hind end." The groomer then let me know that if there were matts, this would mean that the cut may need to be a shorter than normal cut. When I came in to pick up my pup, I was charged $80, and to my surprise, she came out COMPLEELY SHAVED!!!! Upon returning home, my dog hid in the dark bathroom, curled in the corner and would not come out for over 2 hours. When my husband came home and picker her up, she was absolutely shivering and just laid on his lap whimpering. WHAT DID THEY DO to cause this type of behavior from my usually loving pup having the sweetest persnality I have ever seen in a dog?!?! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take your pet here!!!! read more

This place is awesome! Our big boy, Rufus, thoroughly enjoys his visits to tailwaggers in menasha! The staff are wonderful and always seem to enjoy having Rufus. He gets all excited in the car when he realizes where we are heading and always comes home exhausted from all the indoor and outdoor socializing and playing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

Professional, clean orderly facilities, and our golden and black lab were returned shiny, clean, tired and happy after two days with Tailwaggers. Kelly was a perfect representative for the business, and I believe she made all the difference. Professional, flexible, accommodating and most of all - she cares about the customer experience. Rude people from the workers I talked to and the management. But ig you can't teach stupid. Didn't trim my dogs nails or bush him out. I have a husky and if you don't brush his but neck and undercoat you can tell. I had to bush him for hours after he was "groomed". Actually, no stars. I had taken my baby to this establishment since he was 4 months old, so he was very well socialized around other dogs. Evidently, some monumental neglect had taken place as my dog was 'jumped' by two other dogs and suffered horrible wounds. The manager (at that time) said it was because my dog had an 'attitude' that day, and that there was an 'intense' tussle, but that my dog was alright. I am still in disbelief at this lame excuse. It is a rotating door with staff (I've seen 3 managers in less than 2 years) and it is apparent that they cannot hire attentive staff. read more

Tailwaggers of Menasha Customers BEWARE: According to Tailwaggers, when purchasing a 10-day doggie daycare pass, it is NOT the responsibility of TailWaggers to make you aware, during purchase or anytime during use, that your pass will expire in six months. Nor is it their responsibility to provide you with any written information on the bill of sale or any other paper document about the pass indicating that your purchase will expire in six months. Situation: We take our 12-year old dog to many different doggie daycares throughout the Midwest and Florida. After we bought a house in Menasha six years ago one of them became Tailwaggers in Menasha. Time flies but I believe it was about a year or so ago someone at the desk suggested we buy a 10-day pass so we could get a slightly reduced rate. There wasn't much of a discount so we decided to think about it. After a few more visits we decided to pay for a 10-day pass (never received any kind of punch card or anything in paper form). We were told we didn't need to deal with anything; instead they'd keep track of the visits for us. In my opinion this was great and I appreciated a business helping me by managing this for me. After buying a full day pass (I believe we did this twice), later we bought a half day pass of 10 and again told they would monitor it and let us know when it had run out and nothing more was said. Admittedly, there were times I just paid for our dog's visits because I wanted to keep some passes on file in case there was a time my husband stopped to get her and didn't bring in money. So it really was pretty nice to have this as a backup. That is until I walked in two days ago to pick up my dog after a half day and there was a big sign saying that all punch cards expire within six months and that it has always been their policy. I was perplexed by this and didn't think it applied to me as I don't have a punch card. But I asked about it and you guessed it, it included our full day passes. Yup, some of which expired so we lost the money we paid for those days. As a consumer psychologist who has worked with a number of businesses, companies and organizations throughout twenty-some years, often helping them to come up with ways to gain and retain consumer trust and loyalty, I took a couple of days to think about this before contacting the manager at Tailwaggers in Menasha. I asked myself: Why would a reasonable, rational, honest business, one that we entrust to care for our beloved pets, have such a policy that is by most accounts would be considered hidden and certainly kept from customers when the passes are being purchased and used - and to some of their most loyal customers that repeatedly leave their pets with them? I couldn't come up with any ethical or business reason and have never come across any kind of six month policy for any of the other places we have left our dog to care for. Because I didn't want to assume bad intentions, I searched the internet for ideas. While I never found any business logic to support a policy like this, I did find a whole lot of information about companies that have tried implementing unethical practices like this - usually only until they either went out of business or decided to change their policies. Often the change happened after customers complained enough or when business owners sat back and put themselves in customers' shoes and realized how they would hate to be treated like this with businesses they deal with. The other thing I learned is that when enough customers complain - and especially now we have the internet - consumer protection laws start kicking in, companies end up losing customers' dollars, customers that are taken advantage of start telling others about these unprincipled practices and news programs are broadcast to help customers become aware of the types of companies that try to hide or mislead customers (like the one CBS News did about expiring cards and how to fight unethical business practices). The Call: Since I couldn't come up with any ethical reasons myself and was only finding stories out there that we leading me to believe I had fallen prey to an unethical business practice myself, I decided to call and talk to the store manager Sarah. I truly wanted to learn that there were honest intentions behind such a policy, even a policy that hadn't been told to me upfront and honestly during purchase or use. Bottom line: (not enough room to write complete discussion) was told that when I registered my dog, one of the documents I signed and turned it, referred to a "punch card" that if purchased would expire in six months so it's too bad for me that I paid for days I can never use. The Punch Line to this story: I've never bought or received a punch card from Tailwaggers... ever. read more

We had used tailwaggers menasha for the past 4 years regularly and never had any issues until recently when we received a phone call to say our dog had been bitten by another dog. We went immediately and took our dog to the very, where he received stitches for a puncture. After speaking with the manager, we were told our dog had just been sitting there when the other dog came up and bit him. She assured us that if they were ever there at the same time she would make sure they were separated. They would not give us any information on the owners so that we could seek compensation for the almost 400 ver bill and pointed out that we had signed a waiver to not hold them responsible. They would not tell us what kind of dog it was, even though our vet asked as he wanted to know how deep the puncture might be. I then called the menasha police to find out if we had any recourse and they in turn sent an officer to speak to the manager and then ourselves. He explained to us how we would have to sue tailwaggers if we wanted any compensation which we decided would not be practical. We didn't think anything about this until 10 days later when we went to take our dog for a previously booked overnight stay. Upon arriving at menasha tailwaggers we were told that the owner had decided to ban us as we had contacted the police. They never had the common courtesy to phone us in advance to let us know, despite the fact that we were very good customers and had used them once a week for almost 3 years and had boarded our dog often. This left us in a very difficult situation to try and find someone to care for our dog that day as we were traveling to chicago for myself to fly to Australia. I have not used their daycare or boarding facilities, so my review does not comment on those services. I have gotten my dog groomed here, by two different groomers. Both cuts and styles were average. Not the cutest grooming jobs- but okay. What really bothered my about the experience is both times my dog was groomed he was nicked. The first time was a cut on the paw- while I was unhappy I chalked it up to an accident. The next time I brought him in he had a one inch abrasion over his rectum to his tail. The abrasion obviously caused a lot of discomfort. I have called the company to explain what happened and their first reaction was that it did not happen there. When I explained that it certainly did- you can tell his fur is gone around the abrasion she said she would have to speak with groomer. Once they spoke with the groomer they called me back and said that he probably scratched himself after his grooming as their nails are sharp. I explained that it is physically impossible for a dog to scratch his rectum with his nails. They even insinuated that had I called earlier (I called within 48 hours) they could have possibly done more. They did not apologize or take responsibility for what happened. Lack luster customer service. In the end, they offered a discount the next time I come in. Unfortunately we will not be back. read more

We brought our Golden Retriever to the De Pere location for a 1 night stay. They did explain that the gravel they run on could cause some paw discomfort. When we picked him up he couldn't walk and his paws were bloody. Why wasn't he taken out of play time if he couldn't walk?? Simply put, they do not watch the dogs AT ALL. We even called and asked how he was doing and we were told he was doing great. Horrible place. read more

Worst place EVER! Been going here for almost 4 years for grooming, boarding and doggie day camp. Always cheery and reports our dog is wonderful. They just love our dog. Last year, the evening before we leave for a trip and THEY KNEW WE WERE LEAVING FOR A TRIP. We get a voicemail -NOT A CALL BUT A VOICEMAIL - that they're sorry to inform us they will not take BJ for boarding. Then when we call back we are informed that our dog "bit" a worker. We asked when and why this is the first we've heard about this. They said the incident happened 3 years ago! Seriously?!?! You take 3 years to inform us??? Now they inform us the groomer we used has left and refuse to groom our dog. This is the same dog that for almost 4 years we only got only glowing reports about and that they all love him. They are slack, very unhelpful and have no desire to service the customer. I QUESTION THIS LOCATION ON HOW THEY TREAT THEIR DOGS AND HOW THEY RUN THE BUSINESS. I wanted to try Tailwaggers. I stopped by, spoke with a representative to find out their policies with boarding. She gave me forms and told me that an evaluation is required before boarding can be scheduled. I thought this was very safe and reasonable. Since I wanted to board my little Bichon Frise within 4 days, we agreed I would complete the paperwork, go back home to get my dog, and then bring my dog back up there for an evaluation that same day along with returning the paperwork and bringing shot records. So, I did. When I got there, I spoke with another representative who would not evaluate my dog because my dog did not have a collar on. They would not allow me to borrow one and insisted I either buy one otherwise they would not evaluate her. The second representative was rude and curt. I did not want to board my dog that day. I was just trying to do what they asked me in order to be able to schedule her to board. I did not realize and was never informed the dog had to be wearing a collar for an evaluation. Therefore, the ease of getting this done was no longer convenient. You would think they would just loan a collar instead of forcing you to buy one or drive back home to get it. What has happened to customer service these days? Unfortunately, my experience with the second representative left a bad impression. So, now, there is no way I will take my dog there!!! No stars for this place but I have to at least mark 1 star to be able to post. read more

WOW I have been taking my dogs to tail wagers for around 3 years now. My dogs LOVE THEM!!! The place is always clean. Never smells like some places do and ALL the people are so nice to us!!
