During the summer their outdoor seating is a hot spot overlooking the river. They are also great later in the fall to watch people fishing for Salmon. We have been here several times and come for their burgers. They also have a great selection of craft brews. The bartender was also working as our server and was very attentive and also caught an error in one of our parties plates and quickly remedied the situation without question. This time we diverted a bit and I had the Charleston. It was a very good chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese and a homemade ranch dressing. The ale house Philly was equally delicious. Inside is a typical bar layout that leads to the crowded outdoor patio overlooking the river. Lots of unclean, uncleared tables. Staff wasn't rude but they sure as heck weren't excited to be there. The "jumbo wings" were not jumbo. And if these are the best rated in upstate then there is a serious wing problem around here. Some of them were overcooked and crunchy and some of them were barely cooked. The garlic parm is. Nothing but an oily greasy mess. And then there was the bill... $10 for FIVE wings and 50 cents for a tiny thing of blue cheese. Unreal. They also added in credit card fee, which is no longer allowed in NYS. Wife and I stopped in for some lunch on a Saturday. We were able to find on street parking, and were able to be sat right away, at an outside table. Plenty of outdoor seating right on the river with umbrellas for shade. Menus were brought quickly. We ordered some onion rings for a starter, while my wife ordered their pierogi platter in garlic butter with fries and I got their insantity burger, a burger topped with cream cheese filled & bacon wrapped jalapenos. Food was brought in a timely manner. We enjoyed our food. Onion rings were very good, and we loved the home made chipotle dipping sauce it came with. My burger was cooked correctly and their home made fries, while very thin, were very good. Service was mostly good, although we did feel like most of the people there were regulars and there were times we felt our service was a little slow while servers chatted with regulars, but everyone was friendly. Our only other small complaint was that they serve most of their food in baskets, and for me, the burger was huge, needed to be knife & forked, and it was difficult cutting it in a small basket. This was such a great find when we took a trip to tailwater Lodge for trout fishing. It was very close to the resort, and the food was very good hasn't kind of nostalgic, feel with the exposed brick and a huge deck out the back I can imagine that in the summer that deck right on the river up high kind of hanging over the river below would be such an awesome place to hang out. I have mixed feelings about LD's. Sometimes it's a great experience, sometimes it's not. Whether or not it is good or bad depends 100% on the food. It used to be very consistent, but in the last year it's been back and forth, just plain wrong, missing things, and portions sizes fluctuate randomly. When things are right, the food is great! The bar staff is always friendly. The ambiance is nice, but I've been there when a loud and annoying man came in to bicker with the bar staff. That wasn't fun. I still go there from time to time. My fave is their wings, but their chicken speedier salad is something I used to order frequently. Unfortunately the salad is always different - sometimes with old cold grilled sliced chicken and sometimes with the warm marinated and grilled chunks of chicken, like it's supposed to be. First time ordering food from here and it was very good. It was take-out due to the pandemic but they did a great job of taking our order and having it be ready to go in the time they mentioned. My husband got the LD's burger with an extra patty and he said it was delicious. I had a few of his fries and they were good too. Nice, thin and you can tell made-in-house. We have tried LD's twice. It is a convenient and stunning location on the river for my son and I to meet for a meal. Both times the food took an unreasonable time. The first trip we watched a family get up and leave after waiting for their food for over 30 minutes. The last visit I overheard one staff member tell people that if they ordered food it would be 1.5 hours . When I asked our server if that is true he said "ya, but yours should only be an hour". I'd like to side with the staff, but based on their rationale I concluded that they really did not care. I think his answer was something like "well I'm suppose to be a best man at a wedding right now, but instead I have to cover here". There is something wrong with this place culture wise. The river view is nice but the food is just ok. I would advise going elsewhere until LD's gets their their act together. read more

What a great little restaurant on the salmon River. We sat outside and could watch the salmon, jumping in the river, as well as people catching them. The menu was comprehensive and good. They had something called the turkey Rachael, which is turkey with Russian and Swiss. Waitress came and we ordered drinks and placed our order. All seemed well. Saw some fisherman land some pretty nice fish. Then my stomach started growling. I looked at my watch...45 min had passed with no waitress. We enquired twice and finally the lunch came. Can't screw up a grilled turkey, Swiss and Cole slaw sandwich, but my sister-in-laws burger was well done.(ordered med rare) and the side of shrimp was raw! So as any person would do l, we brought it to the waitress attention and asked to be comped. After some short back and forth the waitress she refused us. In fact she used the "f" word and "s" words and other profanity in front of everyone. No descalation whatsoever. So I asked for the manager. As she left we could hear her screaming and swearing. So the manager came out and did the same. Finally the owner came out calm cool and collected. He accepted the bad cooking of Anita's meal and immediately comped us while apologizing. If not for him, a 1 star rating and furharsh remarks were warranted. He saved the day and this review. The food was actually very good but the waitress were TERRIBLE. The server took our orders and we got warm beer and 45 minutes later our food came out. I ordered wings and loaded fries, well only the wings came out. Friday, 10/8, we stopped in for food. I ordered the Rachel, my buddies ordered their food. It took longer than we hoped, but it was really good when it came out. Saturday, 10/9, we stopped again for food, and to watch the first half of the Penn State game. Our first server was great, and then she handed our table off to Lauren, who was awesome. Food came out a little faster, but they were super busy. I don't expect the food to come out ten minutes after we order when the place is packed. Either way, our food was great, the beer was cold, and one of the staff even offered to teach us how to salmon fish!! I highly recommend the jalapeno poppers. So good. Be back next year. read more

Service time was slow, it took over an hour and 15 minutes to get our order of food. When the food came out, the apps were delivered with the entrées. Three of us ordered burgers that came out with bottoms only and the bottoms were hoagie rolls, no tops. They said they ran out, but 10 minutes later another tables burgers came with burger rolls. In addition, all of us had ordered our burgers either medium to medium rare, burgers came out well done. Extremely disappointed, questionable if we will ever go back, not sure what happened. Zero stars should be an option for this establishment, because out of our 100$ bill ( for two) the best thing we had was a fried pickle - that came with a burger and our mixed drink. We waited for 2 hours for our food( 2 appetizers and 2 meals) it all arrived at once. We are STILL waiting for our silverware to be brought to us, and in those 2 hours our server never asked to refill our drinks, if we needed anything etc. I understand places are short staffed, but McDonald's has better customer service skills. The burger my husband got - was hollow in the center and more like a donut shape vs a beef patty, asked for sauce on the size- was indeed brought out on the burger. And the jumbo wings were some of the smallest/ driest wings I've ever had. The chicken quesadilla is paper thin and not worth the 16$ even slightly... beef on week is dry and tasteless ( other than being drown in salt ) and brought out with a small plastic cup or plain horseradish and au jus. Stopped in for lunch as it had the most reviews. Had no clue I was stepping into a dive bar. If I lived here this would be my little spot. The bartender was nice the patrons were the perfect amount of flirty old bar dudes without being creepy old bar dudes. There were darts and a juke box and everyone seemed to know each other. Would give it zero, but the burgers and scenery were good. After waiting 11/2 hours for our food to appear, (while tables that came in way after us ate and left), we were walking out the door. We were stopped by the manager and told the food was coming out. Well... 2 entrees came out . After catching someone's attention at the bar to ask for the other 2 meals and maybe some silver ware to eat the food with, there was another large time lapse, and someone brought the food. I again went to the bar for silverware and condiments which we eventually scrounged around and found ourselves as no one would even look up. Some staff were busy attending the many other patrons who were trying to pay for their drinks and leave as well as they had been waiting as long as we had. Some patrons at the bar were being screamed at loudly by the manager ( to include the f word) and thrown out (Not sure of the back story there, could only hear her screaming). I should have left when we walked in, seeing nearly every table piled with dirty dishes and debris, but we cleaned our own tables and waited, enjoying the beautiful river. We had to flag down a server to come to our table. Once the server got our drinks, and took our order, we never saw him again. After an hour I went into the bar and asked some one to find and send him out to our table. He appeared and was shocked we had no food. He brought us a free water, ice tea, a beer and a Sprite for our wait. After a promise it was coming right out, another 30-40 minutes went by. I again went into the bar and was told their "system" went down. Unfortunately I have worked in the restaurant business for years and this was not true as every table around us was seated orders taken and served in the time we sat there and they continued to take order on the hand-held devices. It seems that 2 of the waitresses had no problem ordering and getting food as their tables at down, ate and left . Had our server even once stopped or looked in our direction during the hour that he walked back and forth by us, he would have seen there was an issue. This is literally the worst run/managed restaurant I have ever been in. It's a shame the owner does not bring some one in to train the staff as they have a killer location, Unfortunately it is because of this location and captive audience that they don't care how many people walk out or never go back, they have many more to coming in. It's a shame because this could be the "go to" restaurant in Pulaski with some staff training and someone to properly manage the front and back of the house. I don't question the prices, and I don't mind paying $90 for 4 burgers, 2 beers and 2 sodas IF that includes good service and the pleasure of relaxing and sitting overlooking the river, as that is all part of the experince you are paying for. LD'S was once my favorite destination for wings . I frequent the Pulaski area and spend alot of time there throughout the year. Sadly, LD's has fallen out of favor for me. I will never, ever patronize this restaurant again. I do not like writing negative reviews, it gives me no pleasure, but after the way I was treated by some of the staff, I feel that it is warranted and probably deserved. My story is this. We entered the establishment and were quickly greeted and given a table. We ordered drinks and recieved them quickly. We ordered our food, which was fried pickles, char grilled wings and a grilled chicken salad. The pickles arrived quickly. However, this is the last positive thing I can say. I noticed that other patrons around us, some of whom where seated before we entered, had no food, and were beginning to complain about the wait. One couple in particular had two small children and the kids were getting cranky because they were hungry. After nearly an hour, we decided that we were no longer willing to wait. I asked our server, nicely, for the check for the drinks and the appetizer and told her that we didn't want to wait any longer. She immediately became angry. She stormed over to the adjacent bar and register and yelled at me in front of the other customers, and said that it hadn't even been an hour. She was correct, it had been 57 minutes. I asked her again to just please bring me my bill . She printed out the bill and promptly slammed it down on our table. When I tried to pay her she walked away in a huffy and wouldn't even make eye contact. Another woman, who was very nice, took my money and thanked me. I was prepared to be nice to my server before she lost her temper and embarrassed me publicly. I had planned to tell her that we didn't blame her for the wait. I had planned to tip her 20%, because I believe in tipping well even given the negative circumstance. However, because of her outburst, I left her nothing. My advice to anyone who is considering patronizing this establishment, is don't! Unless you have alot of time to kill waiting for a salad and a couple of wings or you wish to be verbally abused in front of strangers. read more

Cannot recommend LD's enough. Great service, awesome rotating beer selection, patio & great view of the Salmon River.....really love this place. I make an annual trip From Chicago to Sandy Creek and I have to convince my friend that spending time with him was the goal of the trip. When in actuality the wings at LD's is my real destination! Cannot wait for them to open up an LD's in Chicago! We will be stopping by on our way back west to grab a few dozen to take with us. Love what you guys have done with that new location.
