Great food and service. We loved this restaurant 5 years ago and then it hit a rough patch. Change in ownership or management twice has lead to it finding its groove again. We did notice it seemed short staffed, but that didn't affect the food or service. Will eat there again!

Easy to place order by phone. Have ordered before when in town for business. Usually really good. This time the Tikka Masala was just okay - didn't seem to have as good of a flavor as I remember. And the garlic naan was not cooked all the way. It tasted doughy. Picture doesn't show it too well, but it wasn't cooked in the middle of the naan.

The food here is always on point! We love this little Indian treasure in the middle of a lot of chain restaurants! This is the first restaurant that has been able to make me like cauliflower lol! Great place for a date with the decor and lighting! Not a huge place but it's better that way!!

The food was incredible -- a true 10/10. I had the channa masala with garlic naan, and it was amazing. If you're looking for a great place to eat, this is definitely the spot.

Indian food is a tricky dilemma when trying to figure out where to eat. Most of the time when I venture into an Indian restaurant I end up with a. meal that is way too spicy. After reading rave reviews from this restaurant, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We went a couple hours after lunch so that we could relax without a crowd. Our server was extremely friendly and gave us recommendations on food and drink. I told him about my experiences with food that was too spicy. He laughed and said, "we're from Northern India where the food is perfect." Upon our server's recommendation, I ordered the Bhuna Lamb with a 2.5 spice level. I was not disappointed. The Lamb morsels were succulent, and the curry was some of the most delicious I ever tasted. It was so good in fact that I could've actually eaten the curry by itself and been very satisfied. My wife ordered the Chicken Biryani which she said was equally delicious. I also had a mango yogurt drink which paired perfectly with the spice in the curry. Garlic naan and bean chips with a sauce were also served. The amount of food was so generous that I had enough takeout for dinner that evening. We'll most definitely return.

This new Indian restaurant in Turkey Creek has excellent service and delicious food - some of the best Indian cuisine in Knoxville. While we waited for our entrees, the gracious server (originally from Northern India) surprised us with Papadum (cracker-ish bread made from lentils) and 2 dipping sauces: one of sweet mint and another with mango and onions, similar to chutney. Both tasted delicious. The chicken in my biryani was moist and tender, and the lamb in my spouse's bhuna was succulent and flavorful. The basmati rice -- cooked just right. Garlic naan accompanied our lunches. Although the restaurant is relatively small inside, it seats probably 100 diners at various-sized tables with chairs or in booths that line the walls. The dinner menu has a much more extensive menu, so we will return to try other options.

An absolute peach of a restaurant and probably the best Indian restaurant in this entire region,…read morenow that several others have shut down completely and started getting bad ratings. The dishes are extremely super expensive for the quantity although everything tastes great and perfect. THE FOOD: We went in for lunch on consecutive days and tried out different items. We had Naan, Roti, Paneer Butter Masala, Veg Starters platter, Methi Mutter Paneer. Everything tasted so good. Everything costs ~ $20 as well and the breads were at $~$6 each. All of them tasted good and no issues. The starter platter was the pick although the quantity was very less for that price point again. Next day we tried Idly, Paneer Biryani and guess what the Paneer Biryani was so delicious and with mild spice it was perfect. It was well cooked and not much of random masala that will make the rest of your day bad. It came with a thick raitha which was decent in quantity. The Idly were a quick filler and Sambar was decent again. The price is the biggest concern here. I just hope they address it. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The restaurant was not so crowded by the time we went and staffs were courteous. Although not sure how they jumped into conclusion that every Indian who visits them speaks Hindi, and they start to converse without even asking if we understand. That behavior was kinda off. But the service was quick. We didn't wait much. The ambience was good as well. Clean toilets. BOTTOMLINE: A great restaurant if you are visiting Gatlinburg, Smoky mountains and the surroundings and craving for warm and appetizing Indian food. Very pricey for the quantity so plan your meal accordingly. Great service and setting. Would visit again! MY PICKS FOR YOU: Paneer Biryani, Veg Starter Platter

The selection offers a nice mix of classic Indian dishes, from rich curries and tender chicken options to vegetarian choices, rice, naan, and sauces that let you customize each plate. Everything I tried was fresh and well-seasoned, with good flavor rather than overwhelming heat. The buffet makes it easy to sample a little of everything, go back for favorites, and find something for different spice preferences. The naan was a standout alongside the curries, and the overall value is hard to beat for lunch. The restaurant was clean, the food was kept stocked, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Whether you already enjoy Indian food or are trying it for the first time, Spice Hut's lunch buffet is an easy recommendation for a filling, tasty, and reasonably priced meal.

The Great Indian Food Letdown…read more Listen -- I'm fully on board with a hole-in-the-wall serving up incredible food. That's my favorite kind of find. And maybe we caught this place on an off day, but for me, this was just... okay. And I genuinely do not understand what the rave reviews are talking about. Coming from Houston, a city with roughly a thousand Indian restaurants where almost every single one delivers, this felt like a real step down. Yes, it's attached to a gas station -- fine, no judgment there. They clearly put effort into making the inside feel a little charming. But our table was sticky and gross, and the bathroom matched. Not exactly the first impression you want. And it left me wondering: if the front of house can't notice -- or doesn't care -- that things are dirty, what on earth is happening back in the kitchen? As for the food, we ordered my personal benchmark trio for judging any Indian restaurant: Samosa Chaat, Palak Paneer, and Dosa (when available). They had all three, so I walked in optimistic -- maybe this sticky-table situation was about to redeem itself. Spoiler: it did not. The Samosa Chaat was fine, no real complaints there. But then my Palak Paneer arrived, and I genuinely did not recognize it. It was a strange brownish color -- think baby poop -- and the flavor bore zero resemblance to any Palak Paneer I've had in my life. I didn't finish it, and if you know me with Indian food, that tells you everything you need to know. My husband's dosa fared a little better, but the chutney tasted off, and there was only one variety with no clear indication of what was even in it -- whatever it was, it wasn't good. Traditionally, we're used to getting both coconut and mint chutney on the side, so this felt noticeably incomplete. Honestly, it was such a letdown that I'm not sure I have it in me to give this place a second shot. I'm just sitting here mourning the fear that I may never find great Indian food again after moving here.

The beef was juicy and tender, practically melting in your mouth with every bite. The seasoning was spot on--flavorful without overpowering the natural richness of the meat. It paired perfectly with the rice, which was light and fluffy, creating a great balance of textures and flavors. The only thing that could have elevated the dish even more would be a little extra sauce to mix into the rice. That would have brought the whole dish together, but even without it, the flavor was still on point. Overall, it's a great spot for a delicious HALAL option, and I'll definitely be back to try more next time we drive through Knoxville. Food- 5/5 Service- 5/5 Ambiance- 5/5

The main entrees are a bowl that consists of meat & rice/veggies topped by a baked bread layer. It comes with a salad and drink. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. Really, it's a huge meal for the money and extremely delicious. It's comparable to Middle Eastern or Mediterranean food. But, slightly different in presentation and seasoning. Aside from the main entree, we also tried the fries. My son thought they were delicious and said it was his favorite version of fries. Service was reasonably quick and staff members were friendly. I saw lots of people here trying it out and everyone seemed to really be enjoying the food. Overall: This is a great new addition to the Knoxville restaurant scene. I've been disappointed by every single popular recommendation. I can get much better pancakes, steaks, biscuits, ice cream, donuts, and pork in Chicago. This place was a much welcomed change from the usual tourist long line, overhyped fare. The flavors were incredible. The chicken was tender. The lentils were delicious. The cilantro jasmine rice was a bit dryer than I like my rice to be and needed the sauce to work, but I was cutting back on my carb intake, so I didn't finish the huge portion of rice they gave me. Oh and the food comes a bit spicy. Maybe that's way locals aren't patronizing this place, but if you can tolerate the spice, this place is must try! Think a more spicy and saucy version of chipotle for anyone who's never tried Indian food before. Service was standard, atmosphere was roomy and clean, I would even go so far as to say bare. They may benefit from adding some art work to the walls. Bathrooms were standard as well.
