This place is such a STL Staple. Fresh produce, local food vendors, and people selling their body…read moreoils, fragrances, foods and more. Prices on everything is reasonable. It gets crowded on the weekends. If you try and stagger the time that you go, it may not be as busy. Parking is meter/paid parking, but you may luck up and find free parking. It's a must if you are ever visiting STL or if you simply want to go to the farmers market!! I love going to the Soulard spice shop. It is one of my favourites.I have a few preferred produce stands i love going to for fresh fruits and vegetables. And don't forget about the flower shop.

Review Title: 4 Easy steps to 52 Saturdays of CONTROLLED CHAOS!…read more The MUST-DO thing for all St. Louis'ians and Non-St. Louis'ians. But you gotta do it right! Step 1: Schedule a Saturday off to yourself (yes, the Market's open Wed-Sat, but you get 100% vendorship on Saturdays) Step 2: Set your alarm clock EARLY! The trick is the "when" do you get there? Wait til the later hours of the day.. and every shop will be empty that you went for! I've learned this too many times in my sleep-in days, to get there way too late to find so many of the shops sold out, or the "runts" of the sales left. So figure out Early and then getup before then! Step 3: Get in your car and go shopping!!! (Follow the map of course!) Plain and simple you want fresh produce.. this is where you go. Whether it's veggies,. meats, baked goods, coffee, soaps, sweets, snacks, and even alchy beverages if you so desire! (and you just might as the day goes on) Get there early and load up! (Just warning you, you may have to make a few runs between your shops and your car, considering what you -could- load up on. Now as stated by many, it's a smorgasboard of what you can find, all along the entire market. (but just a word of advice, whatever you buy at the market, please clean and store PROPERLY as soon as you get home, this is a farmer's market and you can lose some fresh produce REALLY QUICK!) And just remember you're going to have to fight your way through the crowds. because EVERYONE and their relative knows to come here. (Picture yourself in a demolition derby with everyone.. cause that's what it's going to feel llike... Controlled Chaos! **See I knew I'd fit the title in here somewhere*) I will admit you there are some vendors that sell the usual "touristy wares" on occasion, such as "gold jewelry", Sports uniforms (Battlehawks, Cardinals, Blues), you know the quick .. touristy stuff. But the real value is the food and the food 'trucks', including BBQ , New Orleans style cuisine, mediterranean.. you know everything you can find at a farmer's market :) STEP 4: And to top off the day. a real daiquiri or bloody mary to seal the deal! And there you have it folks... 4 steps to a Controlled Chaos of a Saturday in the Lou!!

Sometimes there aren't even any carts. There's usually 1, maybe 2, check outs open with long lines, but it moves pretty quickly. There are no self check outs, because, well, it's south city. Take that for what you will. The selection is not as good as county locations. It's like this is the red headed step child of Aldi, and they only get some of the stuff you can get elsewhere. Cleanliness? It's ok. Not bad, but not stellar. Staff are usually really nice. I did find an open, unattended box cutter knife laying on top of some canned goods, which was a little irresponsible. I go here if I want a quick few items. I have done pick up from here, and they're usually pretty quick getting my stuff out to the car.

Every trip begins with me forgetting a quarter for the cart--because apparently, I'll never learn. So I'm out in the parking lot, digging through cup holders like a caffeinated raccoon, wondering how my life got here. Inside? It's Aldi... but rough around the edges. Cramped aisles, half-stocked shelves, and a vibe that screams "we tried... kinda." You'd think more of Aldi, honestly. I go in hoping to score a few basics and end up in an existential crisis somewhere between the dented cans and mystery meats. Still, the prices are great, the checkout is lightning fast, and I leave with a random candle, six yogurts I didn't need, and a bruised ego from bagging groceries at warp speed. Aldi, I love you--but this location needs a little TLC. And maybe a mop.
