It was so good. Friendly and wonderful staff. Drink was never empty. Several people asked how we were doing and cleaned up the table. Clean bathrooms. We ordered the chicken teriyaki for the kids they loved it. We ordered the French Kiss (the lemon made it so good) definitely order that again. I LOVE Takara Sushi!!! It has made a sushi lover out of my husband, and that's saying a lot. I highly recommend getting their Monkey Ball as an appetizer and picking one or two of their 50% off rolls. Some of my favorites are the Crazy Boy, the Rainbow, the Vegas, the Mexican Crunch, and the California Tempura. The pickled ginger on the side is a great palate cleanser. The atmosphere is decent - the place can get crowded on a Friday or Saturday night, but take-out is always an option. Overall, awesome place for a lot of different tastes! read more

Have been here several times and it is usually pretty good. Tonight we ordered out and the food was definitely not their best. Tempura was oil soaked, like the fryer was set to low or dropping too much at once. The sushi was tossed in the box and they made more sauce in the bag then in the container. Lid was on tight so it was definitely spilled before giving us the order. I gave it an extra star because everyone has an off night and it was busy, but I don't recommend ordering out here you get far higher quality in their dining room. read more

Takara is the absolute go-to for Sushi in Logan. Their local reputation clearly stands above all other related restaurants. In my opinion, they come in at 4 stars for their diverse menu, great tasting sushi, and unbeatable VALUE. I've probably had better sushi... But not for this price. The majority of the menu is half price and still maintains respectable quality. Some of my favorites include the Golden Cali, French Kiss, Sunny, sunshine, Mexican crunch, 10-10, and the Aggie roll just to name a few. This place is what first converted me to sushi, and my love for it has grown ever since. It's in a nice location and as soon as I step through the doors, the hostess finds a table for me immediately. They are very good at helping me and taking my order quickly, once I've had a chance to look over the menu. I ALWAYS get the Monkey Ball appetizer, two fries balls of crab and mushrooms and delicious sauce cut in half, it is well worth the $4 (That's right, I said $4. Did I mention everything on the menu is half price?). I top it off with the French Kiss Roll, and if I'm with my go-to-sushi-friend, she usually orders the Sunshine Roll, which is equally as incredible. The waitress then brings out the perfect size of dipping dishes for my soy sauce and an extra plate in case the fish gets away from me. All-in-all, a great meal. TIPS & TRICKS: * The "perfect place to sit" is bitter sweet. I believe it is right when you walk in, the waiters and the chefs see you and don't forget about you, my friend and I waited probably about 4 minutes for our rolls to arrive (however, every time I get put in the back by the restrooms, my wait time is about 10-15 minutes). That's the "sweet" part. The bitter part is that it's right by the doors, which makes traffic a bummer as well as the Logan Canyon Breeze freeze your face off. So, pick your poison--a long wait time, or icicle hair. * For those who aren't a huge fan of sushi, but still want to try it, have them try the Vegas Roll, it is fried and has cream cheese, avocado, and just a little bit of crab. Not too overpowering. Their edamame is a nice snack too. * Get the hang of using chopsticks, I've never seen a fork in this restaurant! I'm sure they'd give one to you, if you asked, but you look cooler flailing the sticks around anyways. read more

I had the beef tofu soup (soondubu) and was disappointed I'm a huge tofu soup fan and the green onion was good strong the flavor was ruined by it. I also had the golden California roll which is fried but the warm avocado and warm cucumber was no good I wouldn't recommend this roll. I ordered there deluxe ramen and my girlfriend ordered the normal ramen. The deluxe ramen was $14 and not very good. Was the same as the normal ramen but with no defrosted beef. The Ramen Haus in Ogden serves ramen magnitudes of order better for less cost. I asked if the noodles were fresh and I was correct that they were the cheap Maruchan noodle packets! The broth was boxed beef stock with defrosted frozen precut vegetables. The beef was also dry giving the sign that it was also frozen and defrosted. Just plain gross and after confirming what I suspected from the waiter I asked if I could exchanged for something else. She said no. People need to leave more honest reviews about this place if we want higher quality restaurants in Logan. Being nice isn't helpful! You have to leave honest feedback or no improvement will happen. I mean the menu had over 100 items so it's obvious that you can't prep that much and that most of it is frozen, imitation food, or prepared in a large factory somewhere else and shipped to be defrosted. It's very sad it's like this restaurant has stopped trying they have lost there pride. read more

They just started charging me for sauces on the side, which we often ask for to customize flavors for my family..kid likes rolls sweet, wife can't take heat. Now $2 more for a cup of eel sauce and spicy mayo. I was about to add a star, but since they're the only sushi place I've ever been to that charges me for sauces, they just lost that star. Besides that, here are my updated thoughts... Takara has grown on me some. The lack of sushi eateries in Logan has me settling here frequently. Plus Takara is closest to my house. Menu is hit and miss, but I've recently warmed up to a few of their rolls..still overly simple and made cheaply, but pretty good..and the Monkey Ball is always delicious. The BEST sushi in Logan! We were so sad when Happy Sushi closed as that's where we had our first date. But Takara is the same owners and the sushi is amazing. My favorites are the Crazy Boy (Sriracha on sushi is amazing!), French Kiss (with a little lemon slice) and the Anger Management. Along with the classic Mexican Crunch roll and Golden California.
