On check in, I told the gentleman I am Only here for an oil change. Two cars in front of me left- they got tired of waiting! ... that put me next in line (20 minute wait from that point) I had already waited 15 minutes. I am now in the bay and they are doing my oil change but want to sell me this, that and every other service they offer. And THAT my friends is why you wait so long and it is not a quick oil change. My advice to you is to have people make an appointment for all those extra services that "only take 20 minutes"... if I add on 3 services that "only take 20 minutes" I've just added on an hour and have tied up a bay for someone that "just wants an oil change".

Per their review, my vehicle needed basically every single service they offered. From a tire rotation to belts, transmission fluid to coolant flush, new battery and every kind of filter they sold. Basically it was gonna be around $2k in additional "stuff" that I undoubtedly needed. I've been to timeshare presentations that were less pushy. I took it in today hoping to redeem it. (Before this, I had a spark plug job, and an oil change since late February, totally about a $1,000 worth of services.) In return, the manager offered me a $10 discount on my next oil change. I asked her if she wouldn't give me a $44 credit or 10% back, could she rotate my tires as a courtesy. She said no, it was going to be $20. Okay, so I left even though they were supposed to recheck my lug nuts from the brake job.

"Caveat Emptor" Went to Fix-It with Fred for a needed oil change and the air conditioner was…read moreblowing warm air. Dropped the car off told them the problems and mentioned, when braking, the car pulled a little to the left. Later they called with a diagnostic fee which seemed a little high but wanted it fixed. Someone called back the next day told me they had changed the oil and recharged the air conditioning and found leaks at both Schrader valves which they replaced (part of the diagnostic fee I imagine) and I needed $2000 worth of brake work, (front pads and rotors, rear shoes and drums, front calipers, BG brake system service). My response was, "that is a third of what the car was worth, put it back together and the car will be picked up. A total of $2875.81 of work and parts were declined by me. " Just to be on the safe side, two weeks later the same vehicle was taken to another auto repair shop to have the brakes checked, their receipt says "Inspect brakes, approximately 50% -OK". The brakes are working fine. There is probably a large gap as to what is needed for vehicle repairs and what the manufacturers suggests and how much money you have.

I have taken my cars to Fred for over 20 years. I drove my 2006 Elantra to 304,000 miles, mainly because Fred maintained it for most of its life. My 2023 Elantra has 50k on it and was recently serviced by Fred. I had a fuel induction/injector cleaning service (I think that is what it is called lol) and the car is running as good as the day it was brand new. I highly recommend Fred and his crew. They are amazing and their prices are fantastic.
