They did not want to help me by stating that I should be able to fix it myself and that they part is something that normally breaks. Very disappointed with this take five location. I have taken my vehicle (Ford Mustang) to Take Five for years and this location in particular is ran by dishonest, upselling employees that have no integrity. I came in for a full synthetic premium oil change and was informed by the employee named "Jaydee" that my coolant was diluted with water and if I didn't change it soon, I would be at risk of my car overheating. He said this with extreme worry as if my car was going to overheat as soon as I pulled out of the parking lot. He insisted that it would only take five minutes and to replace my coolant (costs $125). Take 5 employees make commission on sales. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fortunately, my boyfriend was in the vehicle with me and replied to JD that he would take a look at it once we got home. I have been in the sales industry before and everyone in that industry can differentiate an honest salesman from the dishonest one. This makes me think that it comes down to the store manager representing this business. Seems like they have untrustworthy employees and that all falls back to the main boss branch manager. I waited 45 min for an oil change, turned down most of their extra offers but agreed to a $19 air filter change, which required removing my glove compartment to install (WTH). On the way home, I noticed my "Check Engine Light" was on. I continued home, turned the car off and restarted it in a while. The light was still coming on. The next day I went back to see what was up. While driving into their car bay over a speed bump the engine light went off. They lifted the hood, checked the oil level and said all was ok. On the way home, when turning into my neighborhood, the Check Engine Light came back on. I returned the next day, with the light still on to get some answers. I was totally disappointed with the "service" at the college station facility on parkway. My son was treated very rudely by the staff and had to return for the inspection paperwork because the staff failed to complete the report. Their lack of communication and professionalism lead to a whole mess that could have been averted if they were just the slightest bit helpful. I will never use their service again. Wife said she needed to get oil changed. she usually goes to Wolf Creek Lube and they are great and reasonable. for some reason she went to Take 5. Some of the worst upcharges I've ever seen on parts. I normally change her cabin/vehicle air filters. However, Take 5 did there upsell routine and got my wife into two filters. Part numbers come back to Ecogard products (Cheap cheap) 8-9 each on Amazon, and probably even less when purchased in bulk. they charged a combined 80.00 dollars for the two filters alone, and a combined 222.00 on the full service (give me a break). Rest assured, Take 5 will never get another dime of our money. Sounds like it's time to start changing her oil again. used to be worth taking it to service/lube businesses for the time savings. Took my car to this location today for a standard state inspection. After doing the routine procedures (including a windshield wiper check) all checked out and was fine. A couple minutes later another employee came by to double check my fairly new windshield wipers and informed me they can't pass my car unless I purchase a $40 pair of windshield wipers. I completely understand trying to sell windshield wipers but failing someone's car on a bogus windshield wiper claim is absolutely ridiculous. The worst oil change place in college station. Upon arrival the mechanic tells me my truck is backfiring and they need to replace a spark plug. Thankfully I didn't listen to him and took my truck to the Ford dealer where they said nothing was wrong. They then tried to push countless services onto me that were unnecessary. After my oil change I am driving home and my engine does not sound normal so I popped the hood when I got home. I found that the hose connecting to the filter had been left ajar and the drain plug was able to be unscrewed by hand. Had I not known anything about engines, my engine could have been ruined from the combination of these issues. Never going back here again. read more

Do not go for a simple state inspection. They have a trick to force you to purchase new wipers or they will fail your inspection. I fell for it the first time last year trusting their opinion, but I recently purchased new wipers and they insisted I needed new wipers. I declined and they failed my inspection. I'm a struggling college student and my vehicle is in good condition, this place just decided to make things difficult. My vehicle was passed without issue at another location the next morning. We had such a horrible experience the last time we used Take 5 but we were in a different town...so maybe a better experience. BUT no. This time my daughter was taken advantage of. They told her that there wasn't a basic oil equivalent to the one we got last time and gave her premium (said it was equivalent and did not explain the price difference). So the last time we got her oil changed and an air filter, total cost for both $54. This time she only got her oil changed and it was $65. Nothing disgusts me more than when people take advantage of someone because of their lack of knowledge. People wonder why people are skeptical of mechanics, it is because of things like this. Should be renamed to take 50 because that's how long you will wait for any service including a simple inspection. I have never seen a group of slower, less motivated employees than the ones here. I was turned away because I arrived 35 minutes to closing time for a simple take 5 oil change. Was told by the person working that they had accepted their last vehicle for the night and that the last 30 minutes was reserved for shop cleanup. There was 1 car in the bay but I believe it was a decoy as there was no one in the car. So I believe it was one of the employees cars which I think was a girl. I believe you employees are just being lazy and they can with no supervision. So if you're open till 6 or 7 like google maps says you are you should be willing to take customers till said time. A month after the fact, my car started to make a terrible noise that the engine shouldn't be making. Took it somewhere else to find out that I had been ripped off and they had only added a fraction of the oil they were supposed to.
