Buyer beware, 7/29/2026 I took my vehicle to Take 5 for nothing more than a routine oil change. Before the service, my vehicle had no warning lights and was driving perfectly. The moment I left the parking lot, my oil warning light came on. Seconds later, the EPC warning light came on, and my vehicle began hesitating and struggling to accelerate past approximately 35 mph. This created a serious safety concern. I immediately returned to the shop and explained what happened. The technician reset the warning lights and added more oil, but the problem was not fixed. As soon as I left again, both warning lights returned and my vehicle continued to hesitate while accelerating. A simple oil change should never result in warning lights and a vehicle that feels unsafe to drive. I am now faced with the inconvenience, stress, and potential expense of having my vehicle inspected after a service that should have been routine. I have reported this incident to Take 5 Corporate and expect a thorough investigation and resolution. I am sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. i would always get my oil change at this place, and the last time they did it not only they messed up the oil plug but the oil pan for putting too much pressure on the screw. i tried to talk to them about it to get it fix all they said was the general manager will call you. its been over a month and a half waiting and nothing. they break your car and dont take responsibility for it. worst costumer service and they have people who are learning do your oil change without supervision. ***Update district manager just called me hung up on me then called me back after realizing he messed up. Said my son is lying. I never experienced such a horrible excuse for a district manager before. Now wonder the service sucks look how unprofessional the district manager is. Told me after hanging up on me it's 3 against 1 so nothing you can do. He doesn't know me Take 5 Oil Change I will talk to the CEO. Please don't support a company like this. I am just in shock. I am currently waiting for the Regional to call me because everyone has a boss right! I sure hope that phone call was recorded. Then they said 3 against one when Zach said there was only 2 employees. I will request the video of the 3. I am warning everyone to not use Take 5 in Opelousas. My son brought his truck into Take 5 Oil Change for an oil change. They asked him if he wanted any extras. He said no just an oil change because that is what he was instructed to do. He was charged for gear fluid change in the amount of $99. I noticed because his bank account alerted me when his balance gets under $100. I just put in $300 for him to have gas, oil change and money to eat. They charged him $218 when it should have been under $100 like it always is. They don't give you anything to sign so he didn't know. His truck doesn't even have 60k miles and just had everything checked when I bought it so it was not needed either. I am not one to complain on social media but when you file a complaint over a week ago and can't get anyone to call you back I feel like I need to warn everyone in this city to not go there. They want to take money from my child and they will more than likely women and men as well. I can't get over someone not calling me back after over a week. If this is how you do business in a small town Take 5 Oil Change you won't be open for long. I am sure others have had bad experiences that they will share as well. Support local shops because I will never waste another dollar on a corporate company that can't call me back after 7 days. I am not important enough so they won't be important enough. The guys who work here are all so professional and nice. I love that I don't have to get out of my car and they fill up all of my necessary fluids and even sold and changed my wiper blades on my most recent visit. They also open early (7am) so I was able to go before work and get my oil change out of the way. Take 5 is the only place I'll go for an oil change. read more

While the workers were perfectly kind, the actual work and quality is non-exsistent. A few days before a long roadtrip, I got my oil changed here. The service was quick, they so-say "checked everything" and was good to go. Once I left for my trip after a couple of hours of driving there was an awful, scary metal sound coming from under my car. It was my skid plate. Let's just say it would have been better if they had for gotten it all together. It was missing bolts and the TWO that were there were not even the ones that go with my car. I was going almost 90 mph and am thankful that nothing horrible happened but was terrifying to say the least. I called and the person on the phone could care less what happened - essentially shrugged it off. This has happened to multiple people I know once I started asking around Luckily the manager at the Kaliste Saloom location was a wonderful help and showed care for what happened. He has since assisted in getting things repaired and took the feedback seriously - hope it improves others experience. read more

I had my oil changed by the manager of the Ambassador location on 4/19. He tried to upsell me several items. I told him no to a few of the items he was trying to sell me. He was very pushy and even leaned in my car window with his finger ready to touch my phone screen because I was looking for a discount since the charge was $250. He charged me for items I never authorized. When my card was charged the manager crumpled up my receipt and never gave me a printout. I called the customer service line 3-4 times and was finally able to get a copy of my receipt on 4/20 where I discovered all the fraudulent charges. This gentleman even had the nerve to make sure I left him 5 stars so he could get promoted when he knew he stole money from me. Imagine how many other customers he's done this to. I won't be back. I'm cancelling my debit card because who knows if he took pictures of it. read more

Heather Bouillon Foster WORST PLACE EVER!! I wanted to share my story to save another person from the distress I've been in for the last 24 hours. Yesterday I went to Take 5 on Ambassador Caffery to get an oil change. I was informed that they accidentally dumped out my transmission fluid and were calling a tow truck. 45 mins - 1 hour later the tow truck came and towed it to Hampton Toyota dealership. The car got there too late in the day and couldn't be worked on. I told Take 5 I wanted a transmission flush, which they said they would not do, they would only replace the fluid they dumped out. When we got home, my husband and I stayed trying to call someone in a higher position to assist us with the matter. No one answered the phone, no returned calls. I filled out a complaint online, no response. Fast forward to today. I go to the dealership to pick up my car (they told me it was ready) and they won't release it bc they need payment. Again, no one from Take 5 answers my call or the dealerships. Finally I am told that the Take 5 manager is at lunch for the hour and there is no one else I can talk to. WTF?? Many calls and lots of BS and time later, Take 5 manager doesn't know what is going on about making payment. Finally...a credit card number was given and it declined. Second time it went through. What a massive headache for an oil change! I was without a car for just about 24 hours. I guess I'm lucky that I didn't have work yesterday or today, or kids in need. Moral of the story is I am NEVER getting an oil change from any Take 5 again for the rest of my life, and I don't recommend you do either bc this could possibly happen to you! PS- Dealership told me this happens quite often and many times Take 5 never pays and they are tired of getting stuck. Lazy. If you pull in behind someone BUT at the same time, and then you end up in the line that is ready first... they make you reverse and let the other people get in front of you. They close one hour early but don't post it anywhere for a hurricane that's hitting in TWO DAYS. So, I figured this would be the second best way to compliment Michael and Jermaine with only the highest of gratitude. Driving up to this place, I knew that it would take no time at all to have my oil changed. I initially thought that's all they would do, but I was surprised! When I drove in, the guy who helped me drive in was extremely nice and courteous. He got my information, let me know exactly what they were going to do, and let a first-time customer know his car was going to be treated well. When they got started, they offered me a drink (Coke, Powerade, water, the usual). Excellent! I sat in my car the entire time while they changed my oil from under me. It took them longer than usual to change mine due to the nature of my car. They actually let me know of some damage the previous place that changed my oil caused, which I wasn't even aware of (oversized oil pan/filter). That more than makes up for the extra time I was sitting there waiting. For the price I paid ($29.99 promotion), everything was perfect and better than the regular $45 oil change I would get at another local place. Highly recommended! read more

These folks are very customer service oriented and very prompt and efficient. I am from out of state but these folks handled my vehicle with professionalism. My first time has made me a lifetime customer, atleast when I find myself nearby. While here I was here I was offered a bottle of water, they told me that I really didn't need an oil change because my oil was very clean and heard them tell a customer she was in too soon for an oil change, which she left without getting one. They were even the first ones that acknowledged Toyota's recommendation of 5,000 miles between changes rather than the standard 3,000. Very professional and honest! read more

Horrible customer service. Went there 2 days ago then realized that they put the wrong oil in my car and the wrong sticker. Anyhow they messed up said they'd fix it then after they expected me to pay for the oil change. So I tried to get hold of the customer service number or corporate number. I've called it at least 10 times and no one answered then they called the cops on me. Very rude and unprofessional. Y'all messed up. Plus the customer is always right.
