I had my usual oil change at this location and normally its smooth sailing but this time the technician previously screwed my oil cap on two tight and in an attempt to unscrew it, the cap was broken. They told me I would need to visit a local mechanic and get a new one installed. Fortunately when I did my mechanic found another leak that had to be fixed. I dont think im going back because I sent an email report to corporate and no action was taken, not even a response. Sad read more

Listen I've been going here for years and I've never had a bad experience. I'm not really car savvy so me hopping in and starting the car is the most I can do. When I pull up they usually have a few people ahead but they always keep the lines of communication open. They offer you a cold beverage and give you a estimate time on how long it will take. They scanned inside my door and were able to let me know what oil is best for my vehicle. They offer to change your air filter and windshield wipers if they need changing. I've been bringing my autos to this Take 5 location for years, with mostly positive results and kind staff. Recently I brought my SUV there, and everything seemed to go fine. Several days later my car started giving me lots of trouble: stalling out while going through an intersection, gurgling and sputtering, several warning light indicators turning on. I barely made it to the dealership, where they discovered the problem. $548 later (on top of the $100+ already spent on oil change) to , I had my SUV back. Take 5 employees had failed to properly close & secure the housing for the air filter. As a result, I had all the nastiness sucking up into my system for well over a week. Now after repeated phone calls, emails, and showing up in person, I've been told they won't reimburse me, despite dozens of oil changes over the years. No offer of store credit. No apology. Nothing, and no way to speak to "regional manager." The store manager has been kind enough in his demeanor, but this achieves nothing. Tread carefully if you bring your car here, and double check the work after. Oversights and errors can be quite expensive. read more

She suggested a coolant flush which I had known was needed and they gave me a deal on the flush being purchased with the oil change and it was a good value. My car was very happy when we drove home! I am many things. I am a foodie, a sharp dresser, and a craft beer snob. What am I not? Good at cars or car things. Like at all. That's why I love Take 5! I typically go to the location on Carrollton but after my experience this morning, this is my new go-to shop. I went first thing this morning at 7am and Kim helped me out. They were SO incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I've taken my car to Take 5 around 6 or 7 times but this was hands down the best experience I have had. Kim signed me up for the VIP program (which I'm not sure why the location on Carrollton never had) and put air in my tires. I was also super impressed that you get a free basic car wash with any oil change. I love that it's also next to the Orleans brake tag check spot so you can literally get an oil change, car wash, and your new brake tag all in one visit. For someone like me who is always on the run, this is huge. Is Take 5 a little pricier than other places in town? Sure. But is it worth the extra dough? Absolutely! read more

I am correcting it now. There is a brake tag station, car wash, and this oil change place all together on this plot of land. The oil change people are quick, professional and efficient, which is always nice. And the fact that they give you a free basic wash after is just icing on the cake. I have never had any issues here. The only major sticking point with this location is the road work just down the street at the moment, which means traffic is rerouted to promote finishing the work. The prices are reasonable. I will come back here for oil changes in the future. read more

Had to select one star for the fact 0 stars is not an option.. Went here for oil change earlier this month, it was obvious the crew was inexperienced and immature, oil all over the engine bay oily hand prints in the hood and fender ect , worst part is they left the oil filter lose and it fell off pumping all the oil on the highway. Engine damage unknown at this point. I don't expect any responce from the company judging by the individuals they hire and the service they provide. Waited 2 hours for an oil change, then when it was finally my turn the guy said he didn't have the kind of oil needed for my Z71. I really wish he would've told me that 2 hours prior, before I wasted half of my Saturday. He knew exactly what kind of truck I drove and what kind of oil would be required as soon as I arrived. He did offer me a free oil change if I came back with my own oil, but after wasting two hours of my day off I was not going to be able to wait in that line again and kill another 2+ hours. Overall I absolutely do not recommend this place because of how disrespectful they were of my time, and I will certainly never be returning here. I didn't actually get service here, but I was so impressed with my interactions when I visited that I felt I had to give a review. First, I was pleasantly surprised at how little wait time there was for their various services, despite it being lots of customers around (Saturday around 10:30am). Second, I drive a Fiat, which apparently requires special tools for an oil change. This location doesn't have the right tools (even though the phone line said they did...but that's corporate for you). A worker came up to me immediately and was just so nice in telling me and was able to immediately tell me about their Carrollton location, 10 minutes away, which he knew had the right tools. He then helped me find my way back to the main street between all the cones and such. I guess this niceness and initiative should be expected at most places, but it really isn't very often. But I'll definitely tell my husband he should come here with his regular car! I was also impressed at how the two workers who came up to my window were wearing their masks properly over their nose and mouth. Again, you'd think that would be expected by now, but I found it notable. I did notice one worker who was not wearing a mask at all, but he might have been just directing cars and not actually interacting with people in close proximity. read more

I got all the way home from an oil change here, and the manager called me saying he couldn't find the old cap they usually end up with after a change. He asked me to drive back so they could check it and make sure it was okay-- a major inconvenience. After driving all the way back there, I had to wait in line again, and finally they checked under the car and found the piece had fallen down into the engine and was lying there. He gave me a thumbs up and said I was good to go-- except that I had wasted time and gas money driving all the way back there to cover their mistake, so a discount coupon or partial refund would've been nice. My "5-minute" job turned into about 45. A week or two later, I opened my hood to check my transmission fluid and found that they hadn't even reattached my engine cover. It was just sitting there on top of the engine, not even popped back into place or screwed back in. It could have rattled over to one side and burned up or something! So unprofessional. I have been going to this place for oil changes for years, and until today would have happily and enthusiastically given it 5 stars. Usually everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the free car washes are a great perk. I have also come between oil changes from time to time for wiper fluid or air in my tires, and I have never had any problems. Today I went in because my tire pressure light came on, and I wanted to make sure I didn't have a leak and to have air put in the tires. The employee who helped me was extremely unfriendly. He refused to put on a mask and kept aggressively asking what I wanted, even after I explained that I wasn't sure why my tire pressure light had turned on. He spent less than one minute looking at my tires and told me they didn't need any air. He refused to put air in and refused to check for leaks. It bums me out to have to write this review because I really like this place. I will honestly probably return tomorrow to have someone else look at the car. However, given the dire situation with COVID and the rising numbers in New Orleans, I felt compelled to warn people that my visit today felt extremely unsafe. read more

I came here thinking like last time they would be quick and easy, but nope. I waited 57 minutes for an oil change. And when I asked one the employees what was taking so, long they said it was a newer model. The line next to us probably had 4 or 5 cars go in front of us and in the other line there was two cars ahead of us. Will was amazing his job with the line and he was very helpful with explaining everything, but only he was helpful. As we were waiting in line as well we saw the employees chatting amongst themselves and not actually doing their job. It has now been in hour that I have waited for my oil change and this is insane. Typical Oil Change Scam Lots of oil change options in the area and decided to give this business a chance. Upon arrive, I was the only car at the shop. I immediately told the attendant when I pulled up that I wanted a basic conventional oil change. He directed me to stay in the car and pull forward. After my hood was popped, engine off, and techs working on my car, he tried to upsell me on the "GTX High mileage" which is expected, and I declined. Then he informed me that they were out of conventional oil and that I would have to get the "GTX". I asked while he hadn't told me before and he said it was "company policy". I was very aggravated by this point and told him whatever, just get it done. He also refused my first coupon and said it was only for conventional oil and kept telling me to go to other locations way across town. 5 minutes later, he confronted me and said I needed to add an oil leak stopping fluid and he could make me a deal and charge me for it, while not charging me for the extra quart of oil needed. At this point I was amazed at how horrible this operation was and told him no thanks again. I have an honest fear that mechanical service they provided on my car parallels the customer service I received. Finally upon departing, I confronted the attendant and told him they needed to get their stuff together and until then, they won't get my business or anyone else's that I know. His response was that they had a busy week. I hope they clean up their act before others continue to have this experience. read more
