Staff member who worked on my car was poorly informed. Toyota recommends a particular synthetic oil, GF-5 rating 0w20. I showed the staff member this in my owner's manual. He told me that they "do not go by the owners' manual" and that the only oil with this rating was the $140 upsell premium version. He did not know the ratings of the other oils on offer ($100, $115) but was adamant that only the $140 version would meet the Toyota spec. Had to ask 3 times to confirm this with the manager, who told me that all of their synthetic oil meets the spec. As I was leaving, a different crew member apologized and told me that there had been a lot of staff turnover. It took more than an hour to get an oil change. Man I'm not gonna lie I forgot to write this review 6 months ago, but I realized I'm due for my next oil change and it made me remember what an awful experience I had here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been coming here for like 5 years, multiple cars, multiple changes, I'm used to the wait, they are friendly and give you a bottle of water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 30 minutes till they even work on your car, eh fine by me, I drive very little so this is a once every 6 months need. On my last visit, after considerable waiting which I did not expect cause there were fewer cars than normal, but they shut down one of the lanes, and worse they didn't honor the people that were waiting first they just moved everyone from the shut down lanes over, even if they arrived after you. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So I finally pull in and the guy is doing his speech about changing the internal AC filter behind the glove box and would you like to replace this today, I get it, it's the job. And I said no I'm good, I have this coupon, just need your basic oil change.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They proceed, I go to check out and he rings me up for the ultra synthetic whatever. And I was like bro no I just got the basic. And he was like nah man you want the best, this is the oil I put in my car, and I was like no dude I said basic, you charge me for basic. He wouldn't. Pulled some sort of manager discount, i don't even think he was manager but I guess they got little codes they can plug in for anything. Here's the kicker, and I didn't even realize this till the next day, I had the windows down the whole time, he never said put synthetic in this car, not a mention to the person doing the change: I'm pretty I got regular and these bastards charged me for the premium price. I'm pretty sure the real manager drove off before I pulled in and he was trying to pad the register, she drives some giant jeep or someshit. Idk Rant over. Strongly advise anyone needing an oil change to go to their local mechanic. It will be close to the same price. And the inconvenience you will experience when they do not attach a bolt or reconnect something correctly pails in comparison to the headaches you will go through to have them correct their wrong. Driving home (Nashville) the splash guard started to fall off once speeds reached 65 mph. Unable to travel the interstate. 12/17 contacted costumer service - it is not 1/2 and have had to response to resolve. My car remains undriveable. Terrible customer concern. I came to this location over a month ago. As I was sitting in my car, I heard the air gun trying to loosen the screws and questioned the technician. I had never heard this sound while doing an oil change. They said my oil skid plate screws were stripped and they could not change my oil. They blamed it on my last oil change, which was done at a Take Five location in Dallas. I have contacted the regional office via chat and email several times to get a resolution, but have never received any reply other than 'we will get back to you'. I will now have to pay to have another oil change servicer, probably Valvoline, repair the damage one of the Take Five locations caused. Will never go to one of these businesses again, and I caution anyone who does go there to be watchful, as this will end up costing me and possibly you. I don't know if this is a lack of training, but it's definitely not what I would expect from a business that relies on its reputation as much as its location. If it were my business, I would take responsibility. read more

ZERO STARS. WILL COST YOU THOUSANDS IN REPAIRS. This location made a stupid mistake during an oil change and cost me over $1,200 in repairs. Their district manager has ghosted me after I pursued a claim and is incredibly unprofessional. They over torqued the oil pan screws causing all of the oil to drain out of the car over the next few days. We had it towed immediately and because they didn't look at it before the fix, they are ignoring us. Also, such a dumb mistake because there is a wrench that literally keeps you from making this mistake. After telling friends and family about our experience, they all had different horror stories to tell about Take 5 doing something similar to them. read more

This was my first time using a drive thru oil change service. I honestly didn't know they existed, but I will always be using Take 5 from now on. Phenomenal experience. Everyone was so incredibly nice. The staff was super knowledgeable and their work ethic was amazing. Even though there was a line the whole thing only took me about 30 minutes. This place runs like a well-oiled machine no pun intended. And I don't know that much about cars but I think it's a pretty good value. My total invoice was $133 and I'll attach a picture of everything they did but it included oil, tire pressure, new air filter, windshield wiper fluid, etc. And they are so much more transparent than most places. They straight up show you your old air filter compared to the new so you see how dirty it is. And they dip the new oil and show it to you coming out clean. I also love that they're taking donations to help local kids here. Now on the flip side it was actually very anxiety-provoking as well but that's on me not them. So I'm just putting this here as a warning for people who are very dumb when it comes to cars like I am. They asked me to pop my hood and I didn't know how. Then they had to tell me to turn my brights off bc it was blinding them but I didn't even know I had been driving around with my brights on smh. read more

I took my car in for an oil change this week and as part of the service they offered to adjust the air in my tires. They wrapped up the oil change and I drove the mile down Carrollton straight to my house. When I got home I made a routine 90 degree turn into my driveway and while doing so the apparently under-inflated tire blew out on the 1 inch lip of my driveway. I called the Take 5 location thinking maybe they could help me with either comping my oil change or a new tire but they said there's nothing they could do. The disclaimer on the invoice stating - "If a problem should arise related to workmanship or product and you are seeking a refund, reimbursement, and/or repair, you must inform Take 5 Oil Change immediately by contacting the shop where the services were provided" must just be a hollow statement. That's a shame, I've used Take 5 locations all over Southeast LA for 20 something years. read more

The line was super long, and they were clearly understaffed today-- however, all the employees were able to keep a positive attitude, did a thorough job and made me feel valued (as I'm waiting in line, they ask if I needed water/juice every 15mins or so) it was very nice. I also really liked that they explained everything to me as they're doing it and they're honest about it. I appreciate that, especially as someone that doesn't know too much about cars, it's nice that someone is taking the time out of a clearly busy day, to explain what's going on. They told me that my coolant levels are low but they don't have my specific coolant (European car), but they told me that if I can buy some coolant and bring it over, they would do it for me. I was blown away by Justin the assistant manager here (I asked his title) not only was I greeted before even exiting my vehicle with an iced bottle of water, but after pulling in he stayed with me doorside to get me instantly set up. Right now they're welcoming new clients with a 50% off discount on all services. I drive for Uber and doing so also gives a 15% off discount. The accuracy, professionalism, and prompt service along with the "top off" service free of charge if you drive like me is also worth it. They top off your oil within 3 months or 3K. They'll check your filter, tire pressure, and replace a wiper blade if needed. I mine was $27.95 for the rear a 4 buck difference from Firestone, but I'll take that any day vs spending all day waiting as a walk-in at Firestone or being told "they don't take appointments at this location because they're so busy" and that they only take drop offs to be returned to you within 24hrs. I think I was done in 10min! Time now is 8:15am I asked Justin who for the first time in history for me received a tip on the Gold Standard Ritz Carlton of service. Just blown away. read more

I pulled up with a flat tire and just asked them if I could put some air in before my long drive to Disneyworld. The guy working there kept signaling me to pull into the garage but me always being suspicious kept refusing and yelled out my window "i just want some (free) air in my tire." The guy walked up to my window and said "just pull up to the garage and we'll take care of it. No charge." Being a cheap student that I am, I pulled up and instantly 4 other guys surround my car, washing the windshield, two guys checking all 4 of my tires and another asking me questions about my car and giving me advise on my long trip to Disney world. I took my car here and they were pretty backed up which was not a problem. But then after shelling out $90 for an Oil change I drive about 2 miles down the road and I hear something dragging under my brand new car. I pull over immediately as I know I didn't hit anything in the road and the whole bottom of my car is dragging on the road. I had to figure out how to rig something up in a busy street so it wasn't dragging and getting even more damage. When I finally got back to the shop they made me wait in line again then said they forgot to connect it with a bolt. No refund no offer to repair or replace damages done to my car nothing. Acted like it was an inconvenience I even came back. If you like your car do not come here!!! read more
