This was one of the worst examples of customer service I've ever seen. My friend and I decided to try to place out and she ordered one of their rolled gelatos, and it looked like a completely different product. They refused to provide a refund or replace the order with something else. The only English speaking lady claimed there was no manager in the building, and later claimed she was the manager. She claimed that if she gave my friend a refund, she would get fired, and resulted in police needing to be contacted. I order a taiyaki and it was burnt and overcooked. Had to wait +30 mins. Updating a previous review. Went here on 12/22/25. Middle of the day. They were entirely out of food and acted like it was totally fine and normal. The ambiance looks like kids designed it but didn't put in the effort to fix it. The place was dirty and I had to wait for the kid working to finish texting before he could tell me that he was out of food in the middle of the day. I'm guessing this business is propped up by a rich parent or something because it is horribly managed. Definitely seems like some lazy kid is "running" it and isn't worried about running out of money. read more

We waited 30 minutes for 2 fish waffle cones, the servers seemed very confused about what they were doing, and in the end, the ice cream didn't taste good at all (odd aftertaste). Do not go here unless you want nothing but ice in your drink! I paid $7.08 for the strawberry matcha boba tea and I asked for light ice. I saw them fill the whole entire cup with ice and I reminded them I wanted light ice. They took one single ice cup out of the cup! I reminded them again that I wanted lobby ice. After going back and forth with them they eventually dumped out most of the ice and finished making my drink. Then they handed me the half empty cup that you see in the photo. They said light ice doesn't mean more liquid. This is just ridiculous to charge $7 for this. No other boba place in Springfield does this when you ask for light ice. I won't be back here because I do not feel like this was a value for the money I paid. The flavor wasn't bad but you can tell the boba was old and dried up at the bottom. read more

I cannot vouch for Taki Taco enough -- whenever someone new to Springfield is in town, I have to get them in here! I had to make this Yelp account just to express my love for this place. Personally, I don't tend to get the rolled gelato or milkshakes. I've had both before (and they are very yummy!), but I think the real killers are the other side menu options! The taiyaki (unsure if they still do the soft serve) is absolutely amazing! Both the hot and ice taiyaki have great texture, are freshly made, and most importantly -- taste amazing! Now, the real stars... The bingsu and Korean corndogs! Oh my goodness.. The strawberry mango binsu is a shaved milky dessert, almost like shaved ice but with shaved ice cream! There is a lot of fresh fruit and and syrup, with a heaping scoop of ice cream on top! The Korean corndogs are freshly made in the back and have a perfect crunch, cheese pull, and taste amazing!! I'd recommend trying the cinnamon sugar outside with mozzarella cheese inside! Most people shy away from that when I tell them, but trust me -- the combination is insanely good! The place tends to take long to get food out - normally, there is only one person behind the counter. I think with more staff and shorter wait times, this place really could be thriving. However, each time the staff has been so friendly! I worry about this place since I don't see too many people in when I drive by, but I wish I could buy from here every day. I was craving a gelato and did a search and this business came up. What a wonderful discovery!! The upside "cone" that looks like a Koi fish is this wonderful fried almost thin donut texture on the inside. The melted dark chocolate was inside the "cone" and the matcha gelato was creamy and delicious. You are allowed two toppings and they are all unusual and enticing I selected one topping the toasted coconut. I cannot recommend this wonderful ice cream shop enough. This would have been a worthwhile stop if I had been prepared for the amount of time it would take - our quick "let's stop for ice cream" on a Saturday afternoon turned into almost an hour for three milkshakes. I can hardly believe that taiyaki soft serve has come to town! I have been excited about this opening for weeks. Taiyaki, called "hot fish" here, is a dessert; a moist, chewy waffle shell with your choice of filling (typically red bean paste, but the options vary weekly--they included lemon, chocolate, and dulce de leche when I visited. It's not too sweet and is so satisfying. You can pair it with soft serve ice cream and your choice of toppings (sprinkles, graham cracker crumbs, etc.). There is an extensive menu that includes a wide variety of flavors and items, such as an ice cream taco: mixed and rolled ice cream in a flavored waffle cone shell. I tried the black sesame ice cream in a black sesame shell, topped with vanilla cream and chewy mochi balls (glutinous rice flour). It was just what I needed. I also tried the ube ice cream in ube-flavored shell topped with a macaron. It is the strongest-flavored and best ube (purple yam) ice cream I've ever tasted, and I've tried quite a bit. I hear the matcha (green tea) flavor is also great. I didn't think I'd find these flavors here, and be able to get my taiyaki fix. Other flavors include cheesecake and Oreo. There's also a large milkshake menu, which I have not tried yet. The store is nicely decorated, with fun fish decor if you look around, and a generous "bleacher"-type waiting area where you can sit and watch your order being completed. The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. Say hi to Crystal! This place just opened and we have already visited multiple times in one week. Please give it a try and support this business! Your tastebuds will thank you. I hope Taki Taco is around for a long time. Update: I would come here for the taiyaki alone. It's not too sweet, it's very chewy, and really tasty. You have to try the one filled with almond and cashew butter, although feelings may change from week to week. Also, I can attest that the Matcha gelato is amazing. Everything seems to be made by hand. We came back for the umpteenth time; ube matcha swirl soft serve available this time. Taiyaki and soft serve is fun! They have American and Japanese soft serve flavors that change daily and combine into swirls. Taiyaki fillings change, too, and it looks like Nutella is very well stocked. The rolled ice cream takes longer to prepare fresh, but the tacos are colorful and varied and we'll have to try those next time. Little macarons and a variety of sprinkles on top make it a celebration. Most of the seating is stadium to watch the preparation and the staff is friendly and efficient. read more

We found a new gelato store! The flavors are so yummy ( we have tested many of them!) The quality and care is evident in everything they do. The shop is decorated adorably ( and they designed it themselves).I was told that they will be changing flavors/ specials weekly. They have some traditional American flavors, but the special flavors ( sesame is one of my favorites) make coming here a real treat.
