Toro

Round 2! Wow just when you think it can't get any better. We started with the negimaki again and when I was told tonight's special was Toro and Kumamoto oysters, without hesitation I ordered both. Presentation was beautiful and the flavor was the definition of that slaps! I was slapping my leg saying oh wow so delicious! The toro was the best I have had in a very long time. I also ordered the Everything Tuna roll and it was everything I wanted. He ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi which he devoured. I guarantee you this won't be the last time.

Loved the special room for private dining! Food was great! Loved celebrating my birthday here.

Sunomono

This is the real-deal sushi in a super nondescript, suburban location. Of course, this is graded on a curve. I'm not expecting Manhattan or Los Angeles omakase experiences in Bensalem, PA; however, what you get is fresh fish, pleasant service, surprisingly great rice, and a warm inviting ambiance throughout. I was particularly struck by the fresh toro that I had served sashimi and nigiri style. It was excellent quality, tasty, juicy, with such a rich profile. I enjoyed the plating of my sushi order, and the rice, again, was well cooked. Sticky, slightly seasoned, and served at the proper room temperature. I did not have an opportunity to try their rolls or nori, except for a touch on the ikura, but from what I gleaned is that it was of good quality and had an appropriate snap (i.e., not soggy). The fish eggs were well formed and not those collapsing, desiccated versions that you sometimes find outside sushi centers when they are past their prime. The sunmono salad is always a bright way to start, and I enjoyed it especially the fresh sashimi bits, although I was not crazy about the spiciness they added to it which seemed to take away from the purity. They were out of the hamachi kama when I came too, which was partly a disappointment, however, I respect that they only serve what is fresh and in season/available, and it gives me another reason to return, as if I needed any more. ;)

We reserved a private room. Seats six comfortably. BYOB Appetizers were edamame, gyoza (pan fried pork dumpling), and special oysters. Perfection!!! Ordered box B! $30 value. Shrimp 5* Tempura 5* Tuna 5* Chef's special roll, Godzilla Roll 5* Everything was FANTASTIC!!! You can't go wrong here.

It's been awhile since I've been dining in here. Nothing much has changed. Still great friendly customer service from this lady, possibly the owner. I came here with my dad and a baby in the carseat, so I asked if I can be seated in one of the rooms. Lady said normally they don't open the rooms during lunch time, but she sees that I have a little baby with me, so she tried to accommodate me so my little one can be in a room instead.

tarted with the sunomono, had some seafood soup, octopus sashimi, John junior roll, and red fire roll. Finished it off with a white raspberry truffle. It was a lot of food, but I had not eaten since breakfast, so I over did it a bit. The sunomono was an excellent start. The seafood soup was light but with quality seafood. All of the fish I received was fresh and there was zero fishy taste. Overall it was a great meal.

I don't eat Sushi often, but when I do it's Tako. The best in Bucks/N.E. Philadelphia in my opinion!

Fish did not taste fresh, very disappointed. Rolls didn't seem the same and more expensive than other places I've tried.

And that's a good thing because competition for tables is already stiff. Get a reservation (you have to call) or be ready to wait in line. The decor is excellent. Not fancy by any means, but FUN. It's like someone raided an Otaku gift shop. There are toys, t-shirts, and a zillion things to delight and catch your eye. Tables are separated by bamboo screens, so each is lovely and private-ish. Service is solid, and the staff have a lot to keep up with. Be patient. But let's talk about the food! I have eaten a lot of sushi in my life and I am not kidding when I say this is some of the best. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasted like it had been out of the ocean for mere moments. We had pork-wasabi shumai and the hamachi jalapeno for appetizers and both were fantastic--the hamachi was probably my favorite thing across the board. We also shared a Sushi deluxe dinner, as well as a Musashi and a Tuna roll (I cannot remember what they called it but it was belly tuna and spicy tuna together and it was to die for). Everything was perfect; I have nothing negative at all to say. 10/10, no notes. So if you find yourself near Bensalem, get yourself there. You will NOT be disappointed.

We immediately ordered a few appetizers to start and the beef Negamaki was delicious but very very hot temperature wise. It is tender beef cooked to perfection and it has scallions or green onions inside The roll. It has a delicious glaze and the price is very decent. When you walk in you can choose sushi or hibachi or you can also just sit at a table. It's very tidy and the service is very prompt and good. They have a decent team there the place is pretty simply decorated, but it is very nice and it's been consistent for a long time. They have half price sushi rolls and they are really great value for the price and the size I've never had a bad meal. Here The green tea is OK but taste almost like rice. It's kind of weird but I took my husband and we enjoyed the shrimp Shumai and we also enjoyed the udon noodles with chicken And a few other entrées. He got the mango roll and it was very surprisingly delicious. I got two other rolls and they kind of had a citrus flavor, which was unexpected but pleasant. I forget the other roll, but it was similar to shrimp tempura it was very delicious. I also ordered a spicy tuna roll. It was very delicious. We can't wait to come back.

Great food and service. Food is very affordable. Nice place to go to dinner with friends or family.read more

From the moment we opened our order, it was clear that care, quality, and pride go into everything they serve. We ordered the tuna maki rolls, yellowtail scallion maki rolls, a tuna sushi dinner, and gyoza, and every single item exceeded expectations. The first thing that truly impressed us was the fish-to-rice ratio. This is something many sushi restaurants get wrong, but Pier Sushi and Hibachi absolutely nailed it. The maki rolls were balanced and generous, allowing the quality of the fish to shine rather than being overwhelmed by rice. As seen in the photos, the fish itself was beautiful--glistening, vibrant, and cut into thick, satisfying pieces that instantly signaled freshness. The nigiri from the tuna sushi dinner was pure perfection. Instead of the oversized, dense balls of rice that are so common elsewhere, the rice here was delicately portioned and lightly packed, letting the fish remain the star. Each piece was topped with a generous slice of tuna, making every bite melt-in-your-mouth delicious and well balanced. Even the details that are often overlooked were thoughtfully executed. The wasabi was clearly high quality--fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the fish without overpowering it. This is one of those small touches that truly elevates the entire sushi experience and shows a commitment to doing things right. The gyoza deserves special mention as well. Despite being a pickup order and not eaten immediately, they were still crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. That alone speaks volumes about the quality of their preparation and ingredients. Another pleasant surprise was the garden salad included with the meal. The container was packed generously, not skimpy or half-filled, which made it clear that this restaurant prioritizes customer satisfaction over saving a penny or two. That level of care does not go unnoticed and makes a lasting impression. Overall, Pier Sushi and Hibachi delivers on quality, portion size, freshness, and attention to detail--everything you hope for in a great sushi spot. After a long day of work, this is exactly the kind of meal that feels both comforting and indulgent. I would highly recommend this place to any sushi lover and can confidently say we'll be returning again and again.
