We were traveling home to Fort Lauderdale and stopped in our favorite little town Jensen Beach, FL to have lunch. Found this cute place TAKO TIKI and it was a beautiful day to eat outside! Tacos were fresh and delicious - we had pork belly, fish taco and carne asada. All were delicious. Sorry no photos this visit as we were hungry and just ate them when they arrived at our table. Staff were all very friendly and we loved the cool vibe of this restaurant, which is one street off of main downtown along railroad tracks. Looks like they have music every night! read more

They were and were really good but the salsa obviously came out of a jar and that was very disappointing. We ordered tacos and we found the meat to be dry and almost tasted like it was reheated. And our server Jackie was super sweet and attentive. Now for the food. I wish I had a ton of positive things to say but unfortunately I don't. Other than presentation, the food was ehhhh. We ordered the chips and salsa and the street corn as our starters. The salsa was super watery and lacked flavor. The chips were good though. The street corn was good though. I opted for the Tako bowl (3/5) and my husband opted for 1 El gringo Tako (0/5) , 1 Pork belly Tako (2/5) , and 1 Mexicali carne asada Tako (2/5). Super casual vibe, sand floors, and picnic tables, tiki grass roofs. Food is not tremendous, but it is quite good. Live music, bingo, happy hours, etc. We never visit the area without going there at least once. I've had two vegetarian tacos several times, one fried avocado and the other mushroom. The mushroom one tends to be too juicy, drippy which I don't like. I think next time I'll have an avocado taco (extra lime & cilantro) and a side of street corn, which is delicious! read more

Wow! What a delicious spot! My husband had been here 15 years ago and remembers the outdoor ambiance which we felt was a must during covid. Stopped in and was surprised at all the seating and frankly no people. We picked a nice little spot and a waitress was over in no time. She was super friendly and offered great suggestions. We got the carne asada and blackened mahi tacos. Wow they were awesome. They are pricy but I was happy with the product. She offered hot sauce and when I said chalua, she also brought the chili garlic which is my new favorite thing. My husband got the carne asada burrito bowl which was great. There were these little cherry peppers that were outstanding. Looks like they have a good happy hour and lots of beers on draft. Honestly, food was 5 stars. I'm dropping a star because no server had a mask on and they were really close talkers. Especially when we clearly had our masks on and were showing concerned signs. Then not their fault but about 5 groups came in after and decided to sit all around us when there was about 1000 other places to sit. And no surprise, no masks for them. SCW and I gave Tako Tiki another chance as we wanted to see a specific artist playing. We looked over the menu online, saw some plant based options and saw they are environmentally friendly. We live close by and could frequent Tako Tiki but we don't. Exhibit one is (see photos) the Portobello Tacos SCW had which were wrapped in lettuce (great in theory) had such few pieces of portobello mushrooms that I gave her pieces of mine. I wish I would have taken pictures of hers as they were basically a piece of lettuce, some cabbage and miniscule pieces of portobello mushrooms. One, maybe two bites per taco and done. Really? I've had veggie tacos in several different areas and countries and they are filled with fresh veggies while ours were sad little tacos with little filling. If you are vegetarian, skip this place. It pains me to say that about a local restaurant but it needs to be said. They do not have a clue about tacos for vegetarians. I can't speak to meats, but they seem to be fine there as it was packed. The service was great but wow. I told SCW (Super Cute Wife) as we walked home "I could literally make a better lettuce wrapped taco from our fridge for $.05" to which she agreed. More filling and way more flavor. The only positive here is the sauces on the table to spice things up. I really don't like removing stars, but the complete lack of filling and flavor for the Portobello tacos was disappointing. read more

Except for the server Jill, everything was terrible. My food was 1 steak 1 mahi taco. Steak overcooked, and I had to spit the fish into a napkin, awful. My husband pork bowl had raw rice, overcooked pork, awful. My sister in law mahi sandwich was served on a brick hard roll with crappy fish. Ambiance it's a tiki so it is what it is but they do have plenty of fans, greatly appreciated. So why only 3 stars because the food could be so much better. Tonight I had the most hilariously TERRIBLE dining experience. To set the pretense - it was a Tuesday night at 6pm, the atmosphere was fun, and the food was tasty. My server, however, could not remember a SINGLE DAMN ORDER. 2 out of 3 waters showed up after 45min, beer showed up after 1hr, 3rd water never made it to the table. The food order was input wrong and only corrected as we were leaving. After this entire debacle.. THE BILL WAS OVERCHARGED! When questioned was told that well drinks were no longer 2 for one they were now $1.00 off Fine advertisement on table was buy 1 get 1. Ordered dinner it was fine enjoyed very much. Bill came out and was charged regular price for drinks. Not even $1.00 off. Questioned it and was told "that's what it is". No problem instead of a $20 tip on a $60 bill I only left $5 and will never be back. We came from Naperville Illinois to enjoy the Florida sunshine. Tako Tiki has great food, good drinks, and a really nice laid back vibe. Amanda was our waitress and she really made us feel welcome! We loved the shrimp Tako, pork belly Tako, and the generous pour on the watermelon jalapeño margarita. I was also impressed that the owner made sure we had been greeted and our drink orders taken. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants that I have been going to for years being a local. Fun,food,and friends. Tonight will be my last time there. Music was good...service was OK but the bar decided that my gin and tonic should consist of water and water lime. Not the first time either. Turns out my wife's drink was a rum and tonic of water and more water. We told the waitress we weren't happy and please get us our check. We found Tiki Tako on yelp while visiting and boy were we happy we decided to check it out. The atmosphere is great. Such a colorful, beachy and vibrant vibe. The Brisket Nachos were definitely the best nachos I have ever had. The ingredients were so fresh and tasty. The pics included should deff make your mouth water. I also had pork belly and snapper tacos. Both were to die for and really hit the spot. The street corn was also quite possibly the best I have had before as well. I cant speak highly enough of this place. It is truely wonderful when you stumble into a restaurant out of the blue and have it blow your mind. This place is open for lunch and dinner. I have had lunch here once and dropped in for one of their live music events in the evening, which happens almost daily. The music was so cool and the scene was the best.. Lots of local flavor. I think this place seems to be more of a locals crowd. If you are new to the area And looking for a place to hang out, get a decent fight, listen to live music, and get a taste for some local energy, then you should come here. Super charming.
