A very nice little restaurant bar with a large outdoor bar and plenty of seating. I chose to sit inside and enjoy the air conditioning and not risk getting second hand smoke outside. The bartender was my waiter and he was excellent. Fast, friendly and kept my drink full. The menu was interesting and had lots of options, but I chose a favorite of pulled pork which was smoky and delicious. The mac and cheese was cold and not too tasty, so I will choose something else next time. Overall it was a nice place with good food and excellent service, so I will be back to try something new. read more

We have visited here on many occasions. The staff are always very friendly. The bowl with the grilled chicken is really good! We have tried several appetizers, all were really good! We sit out on the patio near the bar area, always good music playing or trivia/bingo going on. It's fun no matter what day you go! read more

Drinks and food were so good!!! Been driving by it, finally stopped in and had their smoked bone in wings (buffalo hot) blackened tacos with a side of tortillas and Mac n cheese and the shrimp cilantro lime rice bowl, let me tell you, really delicious food, we were pleasantly surprised how good it was. I don't know how anyone can give a bad review on this place oh and our server (Mira) an absolute doll. We'll be back!!! read more

My girl and I have been coming here for several years which should say a lot. The staff out the outside bar are great. This is a great place to bring a group of folks to. The food is solid. The BBQ is also good. I also love the tenders and especially the mozzarella sticks. BTW lots of TVs so it a great place to catch a game. read more

Giant nachos and a hefty serving of perfectly fried pickles, what more could a girl want? Townies is super casual and laid back with a large outdoor bar with seating, and it meets every expectation I have for a restaurant like this. Service was quick and everything was yummy, perfect spot to grab a mean outdoors and enjoy the nice weather. Hoping to be back in the future for trivia night :) read more

Stopped for drinks on Thursday, sat outside under the hut and it was chilly. The heaters outside did not really provide a comfortable area since the wind was involved. Place had a nice vibe, drinks were made well and the servers were friendly. Was there with about 5 other people we ordered apps and they were as expected. Not a bad place to stop. read more

Definition of mid. The only thing I particularly enjoy personally is the buffalo chicken wrap. Nothing special really, but due to the lack of good restaurants in the area, can come in handy at times. Definitely deserving of 3 stars, nothing more, nothing less. read more

Intriguing selections on menu. I got the braised short rib tacos... deep fried crispy like I like (I'm original Jack-in-Box taco fan IYKYK). Spouse liked his brisket sandwich. Be aware the loaded Tots are more smothered then loaded. Very wet but a lot of cheese sauce. I would return there to try other things! Good outdoor eating! Any weather! read more

We have stopped for cocktails several times. The gigantic covered patio is a comfortable and pretty spot to enjoy a drink. We finally ate her. We were happy. Townie's smokes a variety of meats In House. The smoked turkey sandwich was pretty good. The star of the show, hands down, were the smoked wings. They're a must. Great fries as well. The bartenders are friendly and efficient. Townies has an indoor dining room if you prefer. We weren't offered a lunch menu. After we ordered we found out they have one, Ask! Weekday onlys...I think? Where the hell is management in this place? Friday night, new bartender, place is packed, she's doing her best to run the whole place but several minutes behind. Second bartender shows up late and you think ok at least theyll catch up now. Nope kept getting worse, never once saw a manager come out and check to see if everything was ok? Barback was taking orders and trying to help. Friday night! Dying! I don't know why people keep coming back here, the only game in town I guess. Management needs a complete overhaul and an apology to staff read more

First off, townies is pretty good. But the wait time is awful! We got there at five, ready to eat, and there was barely anyone there. After waiting for 2 hours, we asked where our food was.(We had already ordered). They then said there was a glitch in the system, (Which happens often), and our order kept getting sent to the back of the order line! Over all though, the food was good, and there was plenty of stuff for young kids to do. The environment was good too. But still, waiting 2 hours to get our food is bad. read more

Unfortunately, I went out tonight. I went to Townies of all places with my friend. We are fellow widows and tried to make the most of our nights. Do not go here. The focus is on shitty people, across the board. I witnessed it all night. Some random bastard brought their dog, who was sweet. I enjoyed the sweet baby. But the owner was butthurt for whoever knows the reason. The bar had the opportunity to recognize a freak show. They failed. I was given my check prematurely. I didn't do anything wrong. People are so weak. Do not go here - they do not have your back. read more

Always would have recommended as we loved going to Townies, but the last couple times was very disappointing. Don't know if they have a new chef but the food was not as good as it was before, and the prices seemed to have gone up. Also they took their fabulous onion rings off the menu. We won't be back for awhile. read more

Last minute drinks & dinner. We stumbled upon Trivia Night upon arrival. Fun Night! We sat outside & the drinks were flowing. Outdoor seating is covered. Mojito's & Margarita's were awesome! Food was fresh & tasty. Waitress & DJ for Trivia had great Customer Service! Our drinks never went empty & her joking with the table was great. Atmosphere is a 10 / 10. You do not feel like you are on the side of a fairly main road, they did a great job setting this place up. Ok so the only reason im giving this place any stars is because of the service. My husband and I stopped in here late on Saturday after losing track of time from working on our new house. We're new to the area and figured we give this place a try after having driven by a couple of times. Our server was super friendly and accommodating. It seemed like they were out of a lot of stuff on the menu. I opted for the Ahi Salad and I can't tell you how much it was not worth the $18. It was THE worst cut of tuna that I have ever had. It was full of gristle and sinew and I couldn't even cut it with a knife. It definitely was NOT fresh either and I really hope I don't get sick. The good part of the meal was getting our son's meal free. They don't have any non-meat/non-dairy options for kids so we just opted for French fries and the vegetable of the day (had to specify no butter). Overall, I wouldn't recommend and we surely won't be back. read more

Townie's Tavern is a cool place to while away a few hours and enjoy a few drinks with friends. The place has a definitely cool vibe to it and the staff was friendly. The name reminded me of a friend from Boston, Massachusetts who used the term. Sitting there looking at the sign, I could hear him with his decidedly strong Massachusetts accent saying something about a townie. Anyway, I was just here for a few drinks, so I did not try any food, but for a place to come and hangout, I would definitely recommend here. read more

AMAZING!! Twenty-seven women chose Townies for our recent Lunch Bunch outing. Scheduling was easy! Seating was great!! Food was DELICIOUS - ask any of the 27, you'll get the same answer. Scheduler/seater/server Patrick went WAY above and beyond. He was pleasant, kind, efficient, and ever so patient. He even invited our big noisy group back "anytime". We did not meet the kitchen staff, but they were also efficient and had all of us served within 20 minutes without a single missing item or mixed up order. I will recommend Townies to all my friends for small or large groups. Thank you Patrick and all the others at Townies that worked together to make our lunch perfect!!! read more

I've only been here once. We sat outside. I'm not going to say anything about the food or service. I'm going to let this photo do all the speaking for me. The outside tables have tops made with slats over an aluminum frame. This pic is looking straight down between slats. I'll be back in about 2 weeks to see if they address this disgusting problem. read more

Taste of the brisket meat was flavorful, the overall presentation was not that impressive. The service was fine and friendly but not knowledgeable about the food. THE ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you're looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine. THE FOOD: Our appetizers... My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer. Our entrees... My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). My brides shrimp scampi featured 5 small shrimp over a bed of linguine. The dish was well made with hints of garlic and butter in the balanced cream sauce. The dessert: Our caramel cheesecake dessert was creamy and rich. THE SERVICE: It's always a challenge for a server to serve large parties, but our server did great. Delivered our drinks in a timely fashion watched over us for any needed refills and clearly explained any questions we had. THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.

Went to try Townie's last Sunday. Sat outside and it was packed. There was absolutely no social distancing and the only people wearing masks were staff (most staff masks were pulled down). A man was going around hugging and kissing people around the bar. People were sitting so close to us (both sides and at the bar) yelling and screaming at the game - even though we were outside - we felt extremely unsafe and decided to take food to go. They're putting the safety of the public and staff at high risk. Now, almost as bad. When we got the to go bill for $33.55 - we left a $7 tip which we thought was nice for a "to go" order. The total signed for was $40.55. ALERT! When we checked the credit card bill - someone from the restaurant (server or manager) decided to add another $10 to the bill/tip So we were charged $50.55 instead. Okay - that's forgery and theft. So, if you want to be exposed to COVID - at a place that where no one cares if people are on top of you, no social distancing, with NO MASKS. And if you want to be ripped off by the staff, and when you contact them - they are rude and disrespectful instead of apologetic and concerned - then by all means - go to Townie's. Finally, the to go food was horrendous. You call that smoked? Threw away the wings. The ribs were marginal at best. Go anywhere else in Palm City! I made sure we let everyone know in Harbor Ridge to be aware! Also wrote letter to the Governor about the experience. See attached pics. read more

First off I just want to say that your two managers who run the show there Louis And Shawn Should be highly ashamed of themselves what a bunch of morons. The reason why is they've had employees coming to work who have tested positive for covid and or show serious symptoms who later test positive and refuse to let them go home due to not being able to cover shifts etc etc. I am beyond disgusted with the management here, how irresponsible can you be! People's health and well being should be your number one priority it's almost as if townies is a breeding ground for covid as this isn't the first case I've heard about employees contracting the virus and them threatening to fire their employees if they don't show up. Im here to tell you what a bunch of BS get your stuff together Townies! How ignorant can you possibly be, this is peoples lives and well being were talking about here!!!! read more

While sitting at the table I am getting dripped on by the AC duct as that portion is in front of the door opening and with humid air coming in hitting that cold duct it was condensation and dripping on the patrons. In this case me. The server was terrible in my opinion and didn't really cater to many of our needs but the restaurant feels obligated to charge 20% gratuities of 6 people or more. Now I understand that concept as foreign people don't tip like in their country or none at all but that is where the problem is. If a server is good or bad they still are get their tip and in this case there was no incentive for good service. If I am paying $27 for a burger and fries that server better attend to my needs quickly and efficiently. Not sure if I ever will return to this restaurant as it left a bad taste. I usually go by the baseball rule 1 2 3 strikes your out but what brought me over to 3 strikes is the stupid menu and pricing. I think I will make my own dinner at home and bring it to the causeway for a better view and cheaper food and much better food.
