This is the best taco food truck I've ever had in my entire life. The truck fries are the easiest go to late night snack I would get these every day for the rest of my life!!

So...I wanted to tell you guys upfront that I skipped breakfast this morning. When you are starving, food can taste extra good so I'm just letting y'all know I could be slightly biased today, ok? Lol! Anyhow, I decided to check out this food truck because who doesn't like tacos??? When I got there, I tried to check-in, but I couldn't. There were about 3 people ahead of me, but the line moved fast. They have a good size menu to be a food truck so I was kind of worrying it would take me a while to decide what I wanted, but I went with the Cuban Taco (roasted pork shoulder, cilantro mayo, and pico de gallo) and the Club Taco (grilled chicken, bacon, chipotle ranch, chihuahua cheese, and a slice of avocado). I got some of the Mexican hot sauce that was available so I could add some heat to my tacos. Both tacos came to $8.25 so not a bad value in my opinion. I got my food in under 10 minutes and the tacos were a decent size. The Cuban Taco was my favorite of the two, but both were really delicious. I'd definitely visit this food truck again.

Normally at any taco truck I like to try out the tacos first, but today for my first visit, I get the steak nachos instead. The serving was HUGE! I tried valiantly, but couldn't finish all the chips, cheese, pico, sour cream, and fresh jalapeños on my plate. I have to say there was a ton of meat on my plate as well. Although he nachos were good, my favorite part of my meal were the garlic fries. Holy amazeballs, these fries were life changing! They were hand cut and fried to crispy perfection, not soggy and not too well done. The scent and flavor of garlic permeated every bite. I can only assume these fries were drizzled some kind of garlic oil sent from the gods. SO good. Go check em out!

This is a great food truck! An a great extension of cantina in pepper place! Been ordering from this truck for over a year! The have a great Cuban sandwich along with garlic fires! An there vegetable taco is fabulous! I get 3 sometimes. They also have a good selection of other tacos to included a meatball and chicken finger soft taco. I ha e never had an item that I didn't like from them. An they have consistent taste and style which is hard to find in a good truck these days! In closing check it out. An they are still just as good when I reviewed them the first time.

Have had these guys a few times now. They can be found all over B'ham at events ranging form food truck rallies to local brewery events. They can also be reserved for company functions (not sure what the committed price is for that). When they arrive on site set up is pretty quick and they are usually ready to start taking orders within about 15 minutes. Full compliment of menu items - All sorts of tacos (Steak, chicken, pork, fish, etc) all with their own unique twist. Additionally they have a couple sandwiches as well as nachos. Most recently i had the Cuban and Asada taco. Both were really good and flavorful. Hard to actually pick a favorite because both were done so well. Tacos are filled nicely and when you get two (along with a side) they are quite filling. Interestingly the sides are garlic fires and cheesy garlic fries. I went with the regular garlic fries and they were quite good as well. Once the order was placed my food was ready in less than 5 minutes. These guys are very friendly and know how to process a large volume of customers in a timely manner. If you see the truck around town give them a shot. Great quality food at a reasonable price.

Cantina on wheels is in my opinion one of the best food trucks in Birmingham. Consistently great food, clean truck, and great service. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu, but my favorite entree is the steak nachos. Tortilla chips topped with queso, pico, sour cream and tender steak. If you're like me and like it spicy, ask for jalapeños, also they always have a assortment of hot sauce to pick from. The truck fries are also a staple. Crispy garlic fries topped with similar toppings as the nachos. If you are in the mood for a sandwich, shoot for their Cuban. It's not like a traditional cuban but it definitely doesn't disappoint. Roasted pork on french bread, lightly coated with cilantro mayo, and Manchester cheese. You will definitely not leave hungry!

While I don't see it much during the day, I've been lucky enough to catch Cantina on Wheels at events around town. The latest was a Sunday evening concert at Good People Brewing. For two people, I ordered the Chicken Nachos, Asada Taco, Chicken Taco, and the Cuban Taco. All four were fantastic, but the tacos stuck out. Each had a different sauce and toppings. The Cuban included pickles and was by far my favorite. All three employees greeted me as I walked up and were friendly throughout. If you get a chance to try this truck out, you should.

    Mexican Street Corn. Fish Taco.
    Jenn C.

Co worker knows I love street corn told me about a food truck that parks across the street from our job on Mondays Why not ‍‍ I order Mexican Street Corn of course and a Fish Taco. $8 First off that's a little pricey for an ear of corn and 1 taco but ok. I roll with it. The corn looks very appealing and it was tasty but it needed some spices or salt or something. But it was hot and juicy so I added my own seasonings and demolished it. The fish taco was tasty but on the dry side bcus there wasn't enough sauce used for the piece of fish on the taco and the fish was over cooked. Will I try the truck again? Probably not. It served its purpose. Monday Lunch.

I'm a regular at this food truck. The guy knows my order as soon as I walk up. They are always parked outside of Lakeview until the early morning on the weekends so the drunks can get their munchin on. You can find out where else they'll be throughout the week if you follow them on Facebook. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. I always get their nachos. The asada (steak) nachos are the best! And I ask for extra queso bc who doesn't need more queso? Their fish taco is also one of my favorites. It has a slice of avocado, and that spicy mayo gives it a kick. The Mexican street corn is where it's at! I have no idea what they put on it, but it's delicious. The garlic fries are also a favorite. Basically, I love everything on their menu. They usually have a long line outside of the truck, but they get the orders in quickly. It's well worth the wait!

I have only visited this truck once, and this was at the B-Ham food truck rally. Prices were decent, but only the items on the menu is what you get. I had wanted to order my daughter a plain beef taco with lettuce and cheese. The guy said they did not have any.... And that is fine, seeing how this was a rally and they had to prep said ok... So i ordered her the steak nachos.. I figured i would stick with the staple "fish taco". When the order came, pretty quick for the amount of orders they were taking. My daughters steak nachos was nothing more than hamburger with queso dip on the chips.... My daughter liked them, but i thought the meat tasted a little off. Now mind you, had they said the steak was nothing more than ground meat i would have gotten her the "steak taco" Now onto my fish taco, will say it was hot... Right out of the fryer hot. Flavor was not what i had expected, was a bit over cooked and was actually bland. So for my first impression of this truck is not very good. I gave it 3 stars as there is nothing outstanding with this truck, and after all it is a truck.... If you see this truck give it a shot for yourself, just do not expect much.

The food snob in me always cringes when I give exceptionally high reviews for something like a food truck that serves non-authentic Mexican food. And who knew that not having the real thing can taste so good. Your food is prepared faster than a microwave. This is scary because everything tastes hot and fresh. It must take them more time to put this together, right? The chicken nachos may not be enough to fill you up all the way but you'll be satisfied so I made the mistake of ordering the garlic fries that make your breath terrible but your stomach oh so happy.

The menu looked interesting but we weren't hungry at the time. He asked me to pull over and he would give me and my son some samples. We chatted for a few mins then he gave us both a homemade tortilla chip topped with smoked salmon a crawfish tail some roasted corn salsa and cheese sauce. My son doesn't eat seafood. Like at all. He ate tail first then devoured the rest. I did as well. I asked him if he wanted some nachos and he replied Yayyah (Lil Jon voice). So we got some kid nachos. He loved them and I snacked on his left overs which were delicious. When we got home later that evening I started looking for Leo on IG, yelp, etc. I saw he was grilling some patty pan squash topped with fresh Maine lobster. I told my wife he mentioned he made some fire vegetarian nachos so I headed back down to see if could catch him. There were several folks there when I arrived. Picking up slabs and fixins, plus some sandwiches. I saw the prime rib on his IG an it looked so good I had to try a wrap. He grilled up some fresh asparagus to top my wife's nachos as well. Everything was super fresh and delicious. The pepper sauce on my wrap was spicy and the roasted corn and prime rib were tender and smoky. It was an epic portion of food. No I mean seriously the vegetarian nachos could easily be an appetizer for 6-8 ppl. I am really excited to have met Leo and I can't wait to go back. He also mentioned that if I have clothing or shoes to donate his foundation needs them and he would take them there at the truck. I told him I would put a review up on yelp and be back soon. I don't fully remember what was all on it and unfortunately I tried to find it only but there is no description of it I could find so I'll do my best here. Like I said I ordered The Bougie Burger (A LA Cart). It had cheese, bacon, tomato, pickles, onions, lettuce, and bougie sauce. Oh and two smashed patties. This burger was good. In my own opinion it was lacking just a touch of season and I wish they had given me more of the sauce on the burger it was like I know it's there but wish I had more of it. Also I was disappointed I received bacon bits on my burger instead of actual slices of bacon (not sure what was going on there). Also on the picture it looks like there burgers were served with White American cheese but I received Yellow American (yes they taste different to me), don't get me wrong I love yellow American so it didn't bother me at all. Anyways this burger was very good would 100% get this again and can't wait to try what else they have on the menu. I give the burger a 8.9/10. Their choices of Peauxboys include: The Parkway is their classic fried shrimp, catfish peauxboy. The Hot Boy is a lemon pepper "hot" catfish on french bread. If you like your catfish blackened and covered with their remoulade sauce, try the Parkway. The Cassie is their classic fried shrimp but tossed in hot buffalo sauce then topped with blue cheese crumbles and ranch on french bread. Finally the Hollet is a peauxboy made with roast beef in their special au-jus sauce. Beyond Peaux Boys, they have what they call Broad St Boxes which include Shrimp Box, Catfish Box, and a Catfish n Shrimp Box. There's even a Broad St Salad Box which can be served with your choice of catfish or shrimp. These are also served with a choice of sides and hushpuppies. Studying their menu, I had planned on trying the gumbo, red beans and rice, and a shrimp peaux boy. Unfortunately that didn't work out as planned because when I arrived, the kitchen was shutting down. They were closing early due to impending storms. Although most everything was already put away, the last employee there felt sorry for me and offered to cook some simplified boxes for me. I couldn't say no so I got a shrimp box and a catfish box. Both only had cajun fries. The catfish and shrimp were both fried in the same "fish fry" powder. The catfish filet was a nice size and fried perfectly. The batter wasn't thick but just enough to seal in the oil and juices of the catfish. The catfish was oh so good. Yom Yom Yom. It wasn't too salty or overly covered in a thick batter... just the way I like it. The fries were on par and complimented the catfish and shrimp. The shrimp box had about 8 large shrimp that were also fried to perfection. With the same delicious light "crust" that meets your taste buds first, you then taste the inviting shrimp underneath. I'm quite sure that the shrimp that's used in their peaux boy will be cooked the same way so I'm trying to imagine how these shrimp would taste sandwiched between their french bread and dressed with tomatoes, lettuce and pickle with possibly mayo or remoulade sauce. It was torture trying to imagine that so that's why I'm definitely returning. I'm not a big roast beef peauxboy kindaguy, but I may even try the Hollet. If you fancy sno-balls, feast your eyes on all the different flavors that NOLA Ice has to offer right under the same roof. Also owned by Caulfied, it made sense for NOLA Ice to also be there next to Broad St Peaux Boys to tickle your taste buds. Broad St Peaux Boy may not be a big place, but they have big flavors. Nothing fancy about their silverware or dishes since everything is served in disposable containers, but their food is cooked fresh and to perfection. Don't forget that they still have a food truck and they cater. Welcome to the Pizitz Food Hall, Broad St Peaux Boys!
