I took a friend's recommendation to try out Dos Hermanos, as it's one of their favorite food trucks in the area, and I loved it! The truck itself is really nice, with bright colors, a large sun visor, and many pictures of menu items decorating it. I really like the variety of drinks and chips they offer, and I appreciate that they are visible to customers. I didn't have to wait very long in line even though it was pretty busy when I arrived, and my food also came out pretty quick! The staff were very friendly and were happy to answer my questions regarding their menu. I got the chicken tacos, and they were delicious! I could tell right off the bat that they put a lot of effort into serving high-quality food full of flavor. I really enjoyed the sauces as well. Incredible... CASH ONLY! So fun to come and tailgate lunch here. I had an assortment of tacos. The al pastor and suadero really stood out. ESPECIALLY the suadero... scrumptious. The tortillas are perfect. I'd recommend three tacos for lunch. And add some hot sauce before you walk away. I got a squirt, one of my favorite drinks from my travels in Mexico. It's a grapefruit soda, basically a full-sugar Fresca, comparable to Sprite. Service is fast, and cash only. They have tons of sodas in an ice chest at the front. There are a lot of other Mexican restaurants in town that claim to serve "street tacos." But none I've had are as good as these. I'll certainly be back to try the burrito with suadero. It's a corn tortilla shell (I don't typically like, corn tortillas but I like theirs), meat, white onions, and cilantro (I get mine without cilantro). Simply perfection. The have a variety of meat selections from steak, chicken, beef cheek, and beef tongue, pork, etc. They also do a veggie taco!!! They were voted best on a U.S. Today list for tacos and burritos. I've been going here for years and haven't tried the burritos because the tacos are soooo good, but my son loves the burritos, too. You have the option for a green and red spicy sauce. Do yourself a favor and get a "baggy" for the pickled carrots and peppers. It's a food truck and the line is always long, unless you can time your arrival just right! The line moves quickly though. There is a taco truck right behind Lumen above railroad and it is one of the best taco trucks I have tried. They are parked at such a convenient area that you can stand outside and eat on the ledge or take it back to your apartment or even railroad park. They have many options and several meat options to choose from and they also have a cooler at the bottom with several choices of drinks. If you wanted chips with your tacos or any other food you ordered thats also available. The line usually moves very quickly. The prices of this place is phenomenal I got four chicken tacos and it was only $12. It is also very filling. The tacos were so flavorful and the chicken was so tender. It also came with a green and red sauce which was amazing. Overall I had an amazing experience and I have been going for about two years now and it gets better every time! It was super flavorful and not dry at all. The buche was also good but not as inherently flavorful as the pollo. My tostada was also very good and I'm glad they put the tortilla chips on the side so it didn't get soggy during transport. I love a good food truck. I could eat at them every day for every meal so when I saw this truck had such high ratings, I got high expectations. Going to different food trucks has been one of my favorites things to do, especially after practice. I decided to visit the Dos Hermanos taco truck and absolutely loved it. I ordered their cheese quesadilla along with a lime jarrito. The cheese quesadilla was amazing to try, along with loads of cheese giving an incredible cheese pull. The quesadilla was a little crispy on the outside and it blended in with the melted cheese. Additionally, adding the green and yellow sauce adds much more flavor making the cheese quesadilla a little less plain. The green sauce tastes a little tangy and sweet whereas the yellow sauce is very spicy making the perfect combination to add to the quesadilla. Lastly, pairing it with the lime jarrito brought the whole meal together and I loved everything about the taco truck overall. I can say that location downtown Birmingham has some of the best food and customer service around. The guy on the truck in Homewood Valley Ave location is a smart mouth rude A$$hole. I have an allergy and have always ordered my food without certain items. Never had any issues or concerns until today. He tells me today he has a sign up now and won't make the cook change her gloves to make orders special. I said so you mean to tell me your cook is making orders with the same gloves all day. He responds, yes we are busy and pulls her to the front of the truck to show me her gloves. Health Department will be contacted 1st thing Monday. These are the most authentic and best priced tacos you can get in Birmingham. I have tried many other tacos in Birmingham but none are as flavorful or juicy as these. They go for about $2 each (except for special meats) and no tax is added which is a great price compared to other places. I really wish they opened for dinner.
