This spot has yummy food, good vibes, a pleasant environment, and competent service. For a coffee house, these are the essentials that I'm looking for. The entire menu is available all hours that TB is open. Usually at other places, there's a switch of menus between breakfast and lunch. Am partial to their breakfast bowl, a lovely and savory combo of eggs, chorizo, cheddar cheese, peppers and garlic aioli--all in balance. I see a lot of breakfast sammies and BLTs fly out of here, and that's certainly piqued my interest.

summary: very cool spot with a unique vibe. It combines cafe vibes with speakeasy-esque bar vibes. Everyone on staff we interacted with was super friendly and they serve an awesome selection of food as well. venue: it's literally split into two spots. There's one area that has the traditional cafe pickings (coffee drinks), albeit they also have a bunch of taps on the wall for their draft options. Then, there's a little hallway that leads into a seating area for larger seating options and hanging out. It looked like there were a handful of people there to work/not eat. As far as service goes, everyone was super kind. The space itself felt very inclusive and they were definitely not at a shortage of people willing to help you with anything. For most of the ordering, there's a QR code ordering system, but you can also order with any of the staff too if tech isn't your thing. Food came out very timely and fast. I wouldn't say the food was anything mind-blowing, but it was still very good. The chicken was a tad dry, but most of my complaints for the entrees are more in the realm of nitpicking. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and would love to come back.

Overall: super inclusive, excellent vibes, incredibly kind employees, a fun drink selection, and okay food We loved how this place was both a cafe and a bar. There was indoor and outdoor seating and you could both see and feel the inclusivity. Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and helpful. The food menu was just okay in my opinion and all of our food was just okay. We tried the breakfast bowl, the orechiette pasta, fries, and chicken tenders. I wouldn't return for the food, but I'd return for the vibes and a drink.

After a lovely message from the manager, I was in the area and decided to sit down and try this place again. It was still busy, being Sunday that makes sense and totally expected, but my experience was pretty much the same. Ordered at the counter this time instead of the Toast app, and sat at the front barista counter for a hot tea. This time, at least, I was asked if a paper cup was okay because they had no mugs left. I accepted reluctantly but if there are no mugs or coffee cups, what can I do. Interestingly, within 15 / 30 seconds of them bringing my tea, I see them send out mugs of coffee, tea, and cafe drinks without refilling their back-stock of available cups. Which means there were options when I was told there was not. They had the glass steepers available (I know because I saw the barista pull it out and put it back when I accepted my to-go cup fate) so that wasn't the problem, and the type of mug was not a concern to me, so any available option would have been fine. However, if I am sitting down inside and cups are actively available, I don't want a to-go cup unless I am taking it to go. Not sure how this became a practice but it's wasteful. In other news, I asked for a small plate to put my tea bag after it was done steeping and they provided a small plate and a small spoon. (See picture for size reference and why I was confused).

What a lovely little place that I'm glad to know exists. There's a charm about Main Street Takoma that I know never loses its spark. Restaurants like Takoma Bev Co. definitely add to that charm. I stopped in one Saturday afternoon to meet a friend for a light brunch. We were looking for something hyper-local with an eclectic menu that wouldn't break the bank and this restaurant checked all the boxes. This location is both coffee shop and sit-down diner that features wholesome classics with a rustic twist. You over via a QR code that's on the table which takes you to the Toast site/app. There's both indoor seating and outdoor seating, so depending on the weather you can enjoy the weather outside or the buzzing energy in the dine-in space. For food, I ordered the Housemade Quiche which featured ham and cheese and came with a garden side salad. My friend ordered a warm salad. We both every much enjoyed our meals and they were the perfect portions. Even though the seating area is quaint, it didn't feel packed and we never felt rushed. The only thing I didn't like was parking is so hard to find in this area, but that's totally out of the restaurant's control so I'm just making the point as something to consider if you do plan to patronize the area. Overall, Takoma Bev excels at great food, good vibes and great service.

This is a cute spot for lunch in downtown takoma park. The shop is counter service with a huge seating area and awesome outside tent. I ordered an au lait and it was horrible. Tasted like tea. My husbands cappuccino was good with chocolatey notes. I would 100% wish I had ordered an espresso drink.

This is a small coffee shop in old Tacoma Park. You walk in and order at the counter. My cappuccino came out fast with some fancy art. After my first sip, I was shocked that there was chocolate notes in their espresso beans. It made my drink feel very satisfying like dessert, give it a try and let me know what you think!

I've been visiting Bev Co since 2017 for co-working, late-night coffee, unique wines, trivia nights, and tastings. The food is consistent and quick.

This is a reliable spot with friendly service. The interior has a great rustic-meets-industrial charm. I had a brownie and peach blossom tea it tasted fresh and wholesome. It feels very rooted in the community. My only minor critique is that the space can feel a bit cramped when it's busy, particularly near the coffee bar area where you wait for drinks. Despite that, the general welcoming atmosphere and quality ingredients keep me coming back.

I was here for the first time on Sunday. It's a very cozy store. The muffin tasted more like corn bread...maybe I wasn't reading the so by correctly but it's good. The latte was ok was a bit light & too foamy, tasted more like a cappuccino instead of latte. The service was good. I'd comeback again.

Partner got the day off, so we came here on an adventure! The weather was perfect for the outdoor dining area as we were greeted by the bright signage of Tacoma Bev! We decided to eat indoors, and the interior is really lovely! The dark woods paired with the eclectic local artworks makes it place feel very homey. I had a pistachio and honey kouign-aman, the breakfast bowl with added avocado, and an iced latte. Everything was delicious, and it made the start to our little adventure a delight! Wish they hadn't of been sold out of their t-shirts in my size!

Peruvian Cau Cau Stew and Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwich

This place served us delicious food! I had the Peruvian Cau Cau stew and a BLT. The stew is traditionally made with beef tripe, but this was a vegetarian and gluten free version that was absolutely delicious. The BLT was packed with bacon and was on a delicious multigrain toast. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we had a terrific meal in a pleasant atmosphere in charming Takoma Park.

This is a neighborhood favorite and I've never been here because I've heard it's best for couples, not small kids. So, hubby and I tried it on a weekday and I definitely agree! The space is eclectic, the vibes are awesome, the seating is open, and you order at a bar!!! If you've never been here before, it is like a cafe not so much a restaurant except the food - even though the menu is small- is restaurant quality! I ordered the smoked salmon toast with runny egg and pickled vegetables. My husband tried a basic breakfast with vegetarian bacon, which happens to be Morningstar farms, of which we've always been a great fan on the rare occasion we eat veggie bacon! It tastes nothing like bacon but it's yummy and unique! Sadly, our order was entered wrong and they sent out a smoked salmon sandwich. Not what I ordered. It had taken ~20 minutes the first time so I went to order a chai latte, another side of veggie bacon as I'd eaten my husband's, and a pastry only to return to my correct order!!!! So maybe they ran the wrong food but made the right one?!?? I'll never know but it was ALL yummy! The flavors go together so well and though the menu is small, it seems that they definitely do everything well! This spot is amazing for dates, networking, working, and even a quick breakfast/lunch/brunch if you're in the area!!! It's very good for all ages but I'd highly recommend not a lot of small kiddos! The menu is small, the wait can be long, and the vibes are decidedly Child-free, except outside. Oh and this is coming from a mom of a lot!!! Enjoy!!!

Although the space is on the smaller side, there was plenty of bar seating, an ample number of booths and the drink prices were a good deal. If I lived a little closer, I could see myself dropping by much more frequently. T he only downside that felt apparent to everyone I came here with, was the strong smell of fried fish. I personally wasn't too phased, assuming it as part of their menu. But the longer we settled in we realized it was coming in from an adjacent business which is incredible hard to control. With that being said, we smelled like fried fish when we got into my friends car and the smell followed us everywhere for the rest of the night. Like I said, I understand that's a hard thing to control but it may be something to be mindful of if you've got anywhere you need to go after. Overall though, totally in love with the laid back vibes here and would definitely return.

Dinner at San Matteo, yes please and thank you!…read more Good food and service was memorable adding San Matteo to the list of favorites. The front patio is cute and a nice spot to sit on a nice day. We entered the restaurant, pasted the bar and made our way to the back. We were pleasantly surprised with a nice outdoor feeling to dine at. We were immediately greeted by our waiter, given water and warm bread with olive oil. To kick off our meal everyone had different ideas of what they were craving so we went with three starters. PROSCIUTTO E MOZZARELLA for one. It that had the usual meat and cheese board with nuts, mini bread crackers and jam. I liked how pistachio pieces were found in the meats and cheese. [5/5] BEEF CARPACCIO which is a family favorite of ours was a must try. The tender slices of beef with arugula, with sliced capers and celery. It reminded us of our trips to Italy. [5/5] FRITTO MISTO came next. This mixed lite battered bowl of seafood goodness with a little spice delight. It had calamari, fish, shrimp, garlic, zucchini and chilies. I really liked how the batter was lite which says a lot because I love really crispy anything. [ 5/5] On to the main courses, we proceeded with different pasta noodle dishes. BUCATINI BOLOGNESE one of my favorite pasta noodles was my selection. The noodles were al dente and the sauce and meat were excellent. [5/5] PAPPARDELLE CINGHIALE was my husband's pick. The pappardelle noodles were al dente and nicely accompanied the meat with the tasty sauce. Topped with ricotta; the dish was full of flavor. [5/5] CHICKEN ALFREDO was the last pick. Not an authentic Italian dish; however, hats off to the chef for making this for our picky eater in the family. The sauce was creamy and delicious. Noodles were cooked perfectly. [5/5] Surprisingly we had just enough room for a sweet ending - an Affogato. Whoaza! The espresso was yummy; put some hair on our picky eater's chest. It had a hint of licorice flavor that was unique. Let's not forget the San Matteo Spritz. Smoky and highly enjoyable. I loved it and will order again when I return. Overall, San Matteo hit all the check boxes for our lovely family dinner. The staff were attentive and never left us wanting more water, food or waiting long. The food was tasty. It seems upscale with a casual feel. Some people were dressed for date night while others were having a casual meal with family or friends. The seating options of areas were all unique in its own way. Front patio for a nice day, from the front indoor dining area for maybe a more intimate feel, bar and table top area for a drink and appetizer going solo or with a friend; and lastly the back dining area for a a bigger group to enjoy your meal. Mixing up the dining options that suits you. I'll be back to try other dishes.
