Our friends reserved this spot for a birthday. It was a little tight for the number of people we had plus babies and strollers but it was nice! We had some yummy tacos and guac and the mixed margaritas, especially the mango, were super yummy!

Oh wow, that was a seriously fabulous cocktail! Cute little bar in the food hall. Very few seats at the bar and it can get quite busy. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. Everything on the cocktail menu sounded amazing. There's also a limited food menu too. This is definitely a great spot when you're craving a well-crafted cocktail from a mixologist.

Love the vibe, cocktail menu and service. The bartender and other staff we had on a Friday night Bartender were super friendly. For drinks we tried: Passionfruit mojito, Rosita clarified, and the seasonal red sangria. Presentation and attention to detail were impressive for a food hall. There was plenty of seating for small groups, solo, or a more intimate date night. Tropical ceviche was light and delicious. Every ingredient tasted fresh and perfectly proportioned. Will definitely recommend if you're in the area or if you're looking for something before catching a movie a Alamo.

Checked out Alegria for the first time last night with some friends while we were there for Coquito Wars. Alegria is inside of Bryant Street Market which is right next to the Rhode Island Ave/Brentwood Metro station on Red Line. It's easily accessible and even has a parking lot and parking garage next to it. The bar itself is small but bright and colorful, and the drinks are honestly not as expensive as I thought they'd be given it's DC. Think $11-$16 price range for most of what I saw. I tried a few of their drinks. The espresso martini was so creamy and delicious, sweet but not overpowering. Then my friend and I went to get more espresso martinis, only to be influenced by a few girls into getting the passion fruit mojito. Don't be like us, skip this if you value your tastebuds. That drink tastes like a bong smells. It was DANK, but it got us drunk quickly. We also got the Traveler which was fruity but a little spicy from the ginger. I think that one is a good in between for people that want something a little sweet and a little tangy.

This was my first time here! It's located inside the Bryant street food hall which I've been in before! The drinks were cool since it was national margarita day you would've thought the prices would've been better! I didn't like that the bartenders messed up on my drinks twice . I just blame it on them being super busy! I would go back on a min busy day! They did have a DJ which was cool and a good crowd!

Another new spot for me courtesy of the drinking passport. Alegria is located in the food hall in the Edgewood neighborhood. It's part of the new development that includes Kraken and Alamo drafthouse. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there was foot traffic but it wasn't super busy. I got some food from the dumpling spot and drinks from the bar. The bartenders were super friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked up. I started with a coquito. Initially, I was turned off by the small glass size but it was so good and strong. I then moved on to a glass of lambrusco which is a bubble red wine with a touch of sweetness to it. Prices are a little on the higher side but it's DC so shouldn't be surprising. Just when I was ready ro shut it down, I was convinced very easily to get another drink and ended ith a passionfruit mojito. Definitely a great atmosphere for anyone solo, groups or date night. Great music and a good vibe.

Fun spot to grab a drink before a movie at the Alamo next door. Never had a bad drink here and the service is exceptional. Happy hour food prices are pretty good, but the drink prices are pretty steep for a food hall. And the 20% service charge means you will be giving the bartender a pretty nice tip for a $20 drink.

I can't even begin to tell you what a perfect hour I spent at Alegria. The weather was warm, the windows were open, and I sat in a comfy chair to sip a tamarind drink while some fútbol players kicked around a ball nearby. The drink was described as an adult juice box, but definitely boasted a nice complexity and wasn't overly sweet. Vibes were immaculate.

Delicious elderberry, grapefruit and gin drink for happy hour!

This is such a fun spot at Bryant Street! The staff was so friendly and kind and they have really great options for small bites and for salads. The chips and guac were graat but the drink was amazing!

Came here when visiting my friend who lives close by. It didn't disappoint. The food and drinks were not only flavorful but aesthetically pleasing! I got margaritas and mojitos.

The folks that work here are the best! Not only do they make some amazing cocktails, but their energy, personalities, warmth and hospitality are truly top notch. Additionally their Penicillin (my fave cocktail) is one of the best I've ever had! If you haven't had a chance to check Alegria out yet in their first year in business, be sure to make it a priority in the new year!

I've always wanted to try this bar ever since it opened. We came on a Saturday around 9:45/10pm (it closes at 11) and it was very lively! The bar itself is small so it may be hard to get the bartender's attention but when you do, they are very efficient and helpful. There's plenty of seating in the Bryant Street Market food hall, so you can take your drinks away from this boisterous end of the market if you want to have a quiet conversation. We only tried 2 drinks, the mezcal and regular tequila margaritas, on this visit. The menu looks intriguing and I'd want to come back to try a few of their more complex cocktails. The food bites looked good when others ordered them, but they did seem small so you might want to order more if you're hungry or check out other places in the market. They have a happy hour as well, so I'll have to make a return visit to check that out!

Great drinks but pricey for the location and vibe. If they weren't in a food hall it might be more justified,

Come for the drinks, stay for the vibes. I was visiting from out of town and hear this rooftop bar…read morewas a good spot to check out and I was not disappointed. The views were perfect and the service was just as good. Good spot for groups or a celebration with friends!

What an...interesting experience…read more This bar sits on top of the Moxy Hotel, which is a sleek, modern spot in downtown DC. Unfortunately, getting to the rooftop was one of the most frustrating parts of the night. Access is only through the lobby, and the security team handling crowd control was completely disorganized. We were constantly being redirected with conflicting instructions: told to line up around the bar, then yelled at to move to the wall, then called to the elevator, then scolded for approaching it. It felt chaotic and unnecessarily hostile, like we were being managed instead of welcomed. To make things worse, IDs were checked multiple times (3-4 times per person) because there was no clear or centralized process. We were attending a birthday party that the venue itself had advertised on Instagram with ~75 guests expected at 9pm. When we arrived, we were told the rooftop was "closed" until 10. After waiting an hour in the lobby bar and dealing with the confusion above we finally got upstairs...only to find it already packed with people who had clearly been there for hours. The "reserved section" for our group was extremely underwhelming: a small space directly in front of a very loud DJ booth and a cold back corner where the heat lamps didn't work (and staff said there was nothing they could do). Service was just okay...no one was particularly friendly, but orders were eventually filled. The bar was oddly limited (only one beer option: Michelob Ultra), and some bartenders seemed unsure about basic drink requests (like a vodka soda with pineapple). The biggest issue came when we asked for the birthday cake we had given to staff earlier for storage. No one knew where it was. It took over 30 minutes and multiple staff members to locate it, and when we finally left for the night, the cake box was damaged beyond use with no remorse. Overall, this is much more of a crowded, club-style rooftop than a place for a planned event, dinner, or even conversation. The view is nice, but the experience didn't match the hype. If you go, expect a party vibe and minimal service and be prepared to navigate some very confusing (and inconsistent) security direction.
