Not a bad little road side eatery. Nothing outstanding but seemed genuine in thought and care going into their food. We ordered the chicken taquitos, I order the shrimp po boy wrap and my husband ordered the taco wrap. I will say the presentation had care on all 3 dishes, and there was definitely no shortage of food, super healthy servings. The chicken taquitos were in my preferred shell of flour, although you might think that is some what blasphemous I assure you it's good! The salsa ia a standard picante that you could probably purchase from any store. Their chips served with the taquitos and wraps were also flour!!! Now to my husbands taco wrap, definitely more than generous portion, meat was a little bland but all ingredients seemed quite fresh! Now to my shrimp po boy, please know their version is a VERY LOOSE translation of a po boy. My guess is they've never had an authentic one and this is something the internet told them or they were basing it off someone else's sandwich and guessed. Now I'm not saying it was bad, far from it. I just don't want you to roll in expecting a true po boy. Now the shrimp were PERFECTLY seasoned breaded and cooked. Where the translation takes the scenic route is they used lettuce tomato and a white remoulade. Yes there is such a thing, but you should have dope skills to pull that off, this wasn't ill flavored just more mayonnaise like than remoulade. A super huge kudos for trying this and minor little tweaks and that could be a daily eat. Neither of us could finish our wraps as they were just so huge but I totally picked out the shrimp and ate those!!! The young kid behind the window was super polite and very professional, place seemed pretty clean and simple. Keep in mind this is a food truck , so there are a few tables but we chose to eat in our truck. If we are ever in the area again, I would totally stop to see their (hopeful) evolution!!!

They have great Cuban and smoked pork or brisket sandwiches; quick, friendly service, too.

Today I was able to get a little taste of the south. The food was good and seasoned properly. The service was great!

Only complaint was that the trays were too small for the sandwiches! The onion rings were sweet..a little greasy, but I'd order them again...great on the Little Butchie sandwich! Dylan served us so efficiently and with a positive attitude this afternoon. He always had a smile on his face, got our order correct for our party of 6, and offered us take home boxes at the end of our meal. Bathrooms were clean and neat too. Don't miss this great spot!! Nickels Pit provides three or four sauces you can put on. The tater tots were crisp and hot. The corn muffin was large and tasty, with a coarse crumb. The greens had some sort of cheese sprinkled on. I liked everything I ate. I ate as much as I could, and had the cold leftovers two days later for breakfast. It was still good. The service was great. I was the only person in the restaurant (Monday night in winter) and the server was very willing to help. He improvised a hot toddy for me, which they don't have on the menu, and it was very pleasant. Cost was $51, including tax and the toddy ($8), but leaving out tip.

We tried the 1/4 lb platter. With fries and potato salad. The pulled pork was amazing. Great flavor and very tender. The smoked sausage was as good as any smoked sausage I have had in upstate NY. The chicken was also very tender and had a good smoked flavor. The ribs had a lot of flavor and were not over cooked like some places do. The brisket.... Was brisket.... Maybe it wasn't made today which is fine. It tasted more like a roast than a brisket. My wife and I differ on our opinions of BBQ houses. I like to try the meats before I put any sauce on. My wife like it covered beforehand. This place doesn't smother it but does put it on before I got a chance to try the meats. The potato salad was ok but not bursting in flavor. The pieces in it are cut fairly large. It was ok. Fries are fries. A little over salted. But they did have malt vinegar. We might try this place again.

I wondered if it had really been barbecued. I didn't finish it. The ribs were okay, but not enough to make up for the brisket. The only part of the meal I really liked was the broccoli, which had been cooked with bacon. The plate below, with ¼ pound each of ribs and brisket, cole slaw, small corn muffin, and broccoli, was $47 including tax and tip. Price, service, and atmosphere were all acceptable, I have no complaints there. But the food was not good enough to bring me back.

Nice combo indoor/ outdoor bar with patio with an open face to the building and architecture. Drinks while waiting were strong and affordable. Our waitress was warm and welcoming. She made us feel VIP the entire evening !!! The Bbq brisket and ribs were delicious and the Mac and potato salads were very tasty. I recommend the corn bread with the maple butter. Lots of sauces to choose from. The meats were a riot of Smokey goodness. If you're in Watkins be sure to stop in. PS. Probably the best most thought out to go packaging I have ever seen. I really appreciated the thought behind it. No plastics, no wax cups. Cardboard with vents so your food doesn't get soggy on the journey home also included a bag to put it all in without asking. Top notch. picture included.

Definitely a spot where you could linger for a while. Food-wise, we ordered the fried rice with crispy chicken (breaded in crushed Cheerios--yes, Cheerios, and yes, surprisingly delicious!), the bánh mì, and the crispy chicken sandwich, which ended up being the star of the show. Every bite of that sandwich was perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and satisfying. We upgraded our side to the greens, which came topped with some mysterious orange ingredient--maybe a grated carrot dressing? Whatever it was, it was scrumptious. We also ordered a side of pickles, which were surprisingly affordable and so flavorful that they disappeared fast. We didn't try any drinks, but the menu had plenty of interesting options to choose from. One of my favorite parts of the experience was how family-friendly the place felt: while we waited, the kids grabbed a new-to-us game (The Enchanted Forest) from the board game shelves, which made the time fly by. Service was attentive and friendly without hovering, and overall we had a fantastic experience. If we lived closer, this would be a regular lunch spot for sure!
