Now in my mid 30s, my teeth were shifting and my bite on my right side was off. I decided to check out another ortho who recommended jaw surgery--what a shock! I did not feel good at all about getting jaw surgery and left that office getting ideas in my head about what else is wrong with my face. My husband was livid when I told him about possibility of getting jaw surgery lol! I remembered that one of my coworkers mentioned he had similar issue about needing jaw surgery with a different ortho and was able to do his treatment just with braces at Dr Graham so I scheduled a consult there. Dr. Graham and his team are very detailed oriented in evaluating your treatment plan. Everyone is so friendly and nice! I also like the convenience of filling out patient forms and insurance info all on my phone. His office offers a variety of ortho products, it is not like the traditional braces where you stick rubber bands to secure the brackets. For comparison, the other ortho said my total treatment time would take 24 months, including the surgery with regular braces. With Dr. Graham, my treatment would require a motion appliance and Invisalign for 12-18 months. That is a huge difference! Go see several orthos and compare because they are not all the same. I just left Graham Ortho office feeling so happy and know I'll be in good hands and receiving great care. I can't wait to start my treatment soon!!

Dr. Skanchy was the first stop on my list of possibilities and after meeting with him, as well as his amazing staff, I wasn't impressed with any other practice! The receptionists are always friendly, helpful and organized. I've dealt with the finance department a few times now. The first when we crunched the original numbers for treatment (before I committed to them). Next- when we signed the contract and agreement and paid, then once again when we had an insurance change about a year into the treatment. It has truly been a pleasure dealing with all of the amazing ladies who work for the Doctor, even the billing department! I say women simply because I've yet to see male employees around the office. The office is always super clean, has ample seating in the lobby, a beautiful aquarium, video games for the kiddos or whomever, and the usual, tv and magazines, etc. Unlike many orthodontist and even dentist offices I have seen, this one is definitely a lot more private! Usually, you will see rows and rows of chairs lined up, so all the patients are in one big room. At Dr. Skanchy's practice, they have separate and individual sections, kind of like rooms where the work is done. I always prefer this type of set up, as I feel it's more personal, less distracting and simply more professional. When we've had emergency situations come up, such as a wire coming off a bracket, etc. they're always quick to get us in, often the same day. They are pretty accommodating to schedules, my only gripe, is the doctor isn't in the office on Friday. However, you can still get some things taken care of, so it's usually not an issue. They aren't overpriced like some of the other practices I met with, yet, they offer better service. Dr. Skanchy is super friendly too, I always enjoy chatting with him, he's very thorough, as well. The office also offers a discount, 10%, if you're paying the total amount up front (cash), so you can save quite a bit of money with this option. We've been coming here for over a year and I'm still always impressed with their genuinity, friendliness, professionalism, and convenience. During my last few…read morecleanings, however, I noticed they were increasingly recommending additional dental work, even though I had no tooth pain, took good care of my teeth, and hadn't noticed any problems. At my most recent cleaning, the amount of recommended work doubled. I was told that two teeth needed work, totaling around $600, and they were actively trying to schedule appointments to have it done. Something didn't feel right, so I asked for a copy of the X-rays they had just taken so I could get a second opinion. After consulting with someone else in the office, the employee helping me said they would mail the X-rays to me. I never received them. When it was time for my next checkup six months later, I decided to go to a different dentist. I wanted to see whether this new dentist identified the same problems that Elevated Family Dentistry told me required treatment. After taking new X-rays, performing a thorough exam, and cleaning my teeth, the new dentist found NO teeth that needed work. **After that, I looked more closely at the reviews for this practice. What concerned me even more was finding multiple negative reviews describing experiences remarkably similar to mine: patients say they were told they had cavities or needed dental work here, but after seeking second opinions elsewhere, they were told that the recommended work wasn't necessary.** Those reviews are easy to miss among the many positive ones. (You can read more of these negative reviews through google reviews) - which is one reason I felt it was important to share my experience. I can't say why there was such a significant difference between the two dentists' assessments, but the experience left me extremely uncomfortable--especially considering that I requested my X-rays for a second opinion and never received them. I strongly encourage anyone surprised by a diagnosis or recommendation for significant dental work here to get a second opinion before proceeding. My new dentist may not have a large, beautiful building with spa-like amenities (that are expensive), but I would much rather give up those extras for dental care I feel confident in and a dentist I CAN TRUST
